Random feathers all over the place

I didn't find them in many areas at all but did find that they were most prevalent where the spotted hippogryphs are in abundance at roughly 50.21 - 57.21 through 60.22 and around these areas.

Found most my feathers around 53,18 just south of the area with the Spores.

Well, no WONDER the drop rate on Spotted Hippogryphs is so bad! LOL! I was just about to abandon the quest after killing 8 of them ad not getting a single feather. :)

I think the operative phrase is "around the fort". I found the majority of mine hunting rams for the yeti meal just southwest of the fort in the snow and then some getting the trapped prey in the grassy area just a bit south.

Gets frustrating quick though if you're just looking for feathers, definitly better to combine it with other quests.

47.6 seems to be the best zone for pick up the leathers.

I would say, actually, more twords the 51.20 area, which is just slightly south of the area with the spores. Pair this quest with "Preying on the weak" for a good time!

No need to go far for this one. All the down feathers you need can be found in the nearby snowy areas south through northwest of Fort Wildervar (and some in the grass next to it).

Also get Wildervar Quests 'The Yety Next Door' and 'Preying on the Weak'. All can be completed in this same close-by area.

Since you might have to gather south of the fort where a bunch of Ice Elementals are, get the quest for them as well from Frost Nymphs Lurielle in that area (61,22).

Go to 53,23. The quest item will keep popping up after you loot it. Easy peasy!

The vanguard of the Alliance force will be arriving within days. The soldiers will be expecting their winter gear to be prepared, but I've still got more cloaks to make.

I've been using spotted hippogryph down for the cloaks' linings, but my stock won't last!

You've got to help me, <name>. Captain Adams will have my hide if those cloaks aren't ready in time! Bring me all the down you can find out there. It's dropped to the ground by molting hippogryphs flying over the wilderness around the fort.
