Cannot be fished in winterspring. The lake is frozen, so no fishing. I managed to get over to the ocean, thinking I could get close enough to Hyal to get spillover fish, but the fish in the great sea were low level (rock scale cod), and nearby azhara sea are were yellowtail and such.

It was possible to obtain these fish, by exploiting zone boundaries around Winterspring and in Uldum, Tanaris. There was even a rather proud chap selling them on my server.

However, AFAIK, Blizzard hotfixed it and you'll have to wait until the 7th of December to fish up these nasties.

I fished up some Striped Lurker from 25, 57 in Mount Hyjal. It's not a school. Drops with other trash and other fish sorts.

Not sure if anyone was confused about this, but, there aren't pools of lurkers, you get by fishing the open waters. I had the best luck by one of the highland guppy pools in the river running through the middle of Twilight Highlands. 30% Sharptooth, 30% Striped Lurkers, 30% garbage, 5% volatile water, 5% highland guppy.

Fished these up in the river of twilight highlands, NOT in the school's though.
Also fished some in Uldum. Seems like it's from every freshwater lake/river in Cataclysm area's.

They got it wrong, there not in winterspring there in Mount Hyjal south of winterspring. I found a great little pond in "Doom's Vigil" that dropped them randomly (no pools).

I fished all over Hyjal and Twilight Highlands and didn't catch a single one until I hit fishing LVL 461. I was fishing the same spot, in Mt Hyjal, from lvl 458 and as soon as i hit 461 i caught my first one on my first cast. (**461 plus 20 fishing from fishing pole**)

As soon as my Fishing skill hit 470, unbuffed (570 buffed) the drop rate for these increased drastically from about 30% to about 70+%

I had good luck for these in Mt Hyjal in the lake at the shrine, next to the Mountain Trout pools.

I started fishing at the big lake but don't fish in the pools you will only find striped lurkers with random fishing. I found after hooking 3 you need to move on to another place - just keep moving down the river. I found the best place was on the bend just above "Bloodgulch". In total I got 45 fish - 20 Sharptooth - 13 Striped Lurkers - 7 Highland Guppy - 5 Volatile water - and 4 crap. Good Luck!

Fishing in the southern part of Loch Verrall in Twilight Highlands (fishing skill is maxed at 525 w/ pole giving +25 fishing skill) for about 10 mins now and so far:
4 Striped Lurker
3 Sharptooth
3 Driftwood
2 Sickly Fish
2 Highland Guppy
2 Volatile Water
1 Tattered Cloth
1 Empty Rum Bottle

I'm not fishing from any schools, just any random spot. When I tried fishing for Striped Lurkers in the same body of water with my fishing skill at below 350, I had zero luck with catching the Striped Lurkers.

The end of Verrall delta in Twilight Highlands seems to have had the best results (10 catches in about 10 minutes so far)

The lake in Nordrassil also has a fantastic drop rate. In about 10 minutes, I mustered up 22 Striped Lurkers. I also got plenty of Sharptooth too if anyone needs that for a recipe! :)

Twilight Highlands, Verral River (two small rocky islands in the river) immediately west of Bloodgulch was perfect. Hat plus +100 lure = 5 Striped Lurkers in about 4 minutes.

Can be fished with your toon in Azshara. Camped out with my level 70 priest at 11.9,41.3 on a little outcropping of the waterfall. Friendly zone no interruptions. Nice spot to grab cata fish with your lowbies and in turn level your cata cooking without having to spend 100s on the AH.

You can fish these up in ZG, too. I was standing by the bridge at Gub nearest Hakkar's temple.

Fished in Nordrassil (Mt Hyjal) with the following approximate ratios (removed grey items from list):

4 Croc-Vif: 2 Rôdeur rayé: 1 Truite de montagne: 1 Eau volatile (1 or 2 per catch)

This is after about an hour of fishing with about 150 casts.

This works great if you're trying to level cooking as the Friture de poisson requires 475 cooking and thus comes after the Rôdeur légèrement grillé or Plat de rôdeur which turn green at 475.

Another report for Mt. Hyjal. It's a lake right by the teleport entry point (Aliance).

10 min of rather relaxed fishing with 359 skill (plus 100 lure, 30 pole, 5 hat).

I didn't count casts and I missed some pulls because I was on the phone. Probably about 40 or so. Not a bad percentage in any case.

I went and fished at Lake Edunel in Mt. Hyjal (The lake next to "The Circle Of Cinders" on your map) with a fishing skill of 361. I fished for a half hour using 2 Heat-Treated Spinning Lure's, which increases your fishing by 150 for 15 minutes each. I just use a basic Strong Fishing Pole, which has +5 fishing skill. So technically I am fishing with a skill of 516. In the half hour of fishing, I went from 361 to 372 regular fishing skill and fished up the following in just the open water:

36 Sharptooth
35 Striped Lurker
8 Mountain Trout
5 Volatile Water
41 Grey Trash

The "Striped Lurker" is a free cast catchable fish much like "Lava Scale" in Uldum.

If you're trying to level up your fishing, I must say Striped Lurker doesn't have a great drop rate anywhere. But I did get a fair batch in the Twilight Highlands on the Verrall River at coordinates . It's a small island near Bloodgulch and has two great advantages: first of all, no enemy NPCs will bother you there, and second, your casts will always land in the water. It's sometimes difficult to find a spot on the Verrall River with enough water so your casts don't go astray. Anyway, this spot should do the trick. Fished there at level 500 for half an hour with a +30 pole and a +100 Ver luisant and caught a little over 30 Striped Lurker.
