This hability can make Bloodthirst crits much better, almost like windfury procs.
Will warriors be able to PvP without MS finally? I'd say yes in a general way, in Arenas I belive MS will still be needed.

Using your average

as a base, you'd end up with something along the lines of
this build
with the current WotLK talents. As I see it, it's between Bloodsurge and
Furious Resolve
(10% less thread and survivability vs. instant
Slam
). My question; will an instant Slam still reset your swing timer? If it will - as a Dual Wielding Fury warrior - it feel like just another rage dump such as
Heroic Strike
as you'll still need to time it with a white hit. It seems Heroic Strike (talented) would take less rage , do more damage but cause more threat then Slam - where the additional threat might even be countered by Furious Resolve.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Furious Resolve + Heroic Strike simply > Bloodsurge + Slam?

The overlooked synergy of this talent is Titan's Grip.
Previosly slam was terrible for a warrior dual weilding 1 handers, as slam is very much a weapon damage based attack, and uses only the main hand weapon.
But with Titan's Grip a fury warrior will have the same top end and average weapon damage as an arms warrior using just one 2 hander. Thus slam becomes very impressive for fury warriors as well, and this talent will be used for sure.

Something occurred to me while I was reading about a maelstrom in the shaman talent tree, which works basically on the same mechanic as this. They had posted about how currently using the instant cast spell gained from the talent will reset your swing timer and that they were planning on fixing this come the expansion. Which instantly made me think about this talent. Everyone knows that slam will reset your swing timer, but what if it is instant cast.
I'm sure it is probably not intended to now that it is instant cast, but can anyone confirm if it does or doesn't on the beta now? Also if it does, does blizz plan on changing it.
This could make or break this talent since we will be dual wielding 2h weapons giving us a slow enough swing timer as it is.

I think this talent could be improved by chance off any bloodthirst attack.
I have a relatively high crit chance 34% and slam is overall a low portion of my damage, and doesn't proc as often as I'd like, for 3 talent points.
It should also slam with 'both' weapons.

PTR Patch 3.0.8: Bloodsurge is being changed to 7/13/20% chance on bloodthirst, whirlwind or heroic strike hit to make your next slam be instant cast.
Hope this makes it to live.

I've been leveling my warrior as TG fury, I've avoided using this talent as I feel that the 3 talent points spent aren't worth it for myself. I've constantly got plenty of rage (Due to the extra rage talents I've taken over this) so I may consider to retune my spec to include this ability. I constantly am using those three abilities, so this may just make it so much juicier.
Wish it worked from cleave too, ah well :)

The point that most seem to miss here is the reliability of this change has suffered for those with high crit. This is why for some of us it was a nerf, and for math nerds with a nifty "Slam Now!" addon, apparently it wasn't.
All I know is pre- 3.0.8, with ~36% crit chance in ilvl 200 and above gear, I could reliably rotate BT>Slam>WW (HS) and land roughly 50 to 75% of the time. This allowed me to concentrate on the action and do my job as a behind the mob, mobile DPS'er. I mean come on - I don't have any blinks, pets, or fancy ranged abilities. On fights like Naxx Grob where I'm constantly on the move, I can't even make use of Slam - let alone pay attention to if Bloodsurge is up or not. Basically, some of us don't like to micro manage every little aspect of our DPS and don't mind a nice, reliable rotation.
Now, I know the locks and mages who happen across this page will cry foul at what I just said. And the "L2P" OP DK/Pally trolls think managing
random
proc abilities is somehow rooted in skill (I apply plenty of "skill" BTW managing threat, sunders, shouts, off-tanking, and interupts TYVM).
But I don't care - without an MIT degree I can tell you this talent is CRAP. Stay away until they "fix" it again...

I completely agree with Orgaz! I can see this point of view catching on soon as well!
I have very high end Crit rating, and I gave the new Bloodsurge a chance, but it just didn't fit my game anymore.
So, I've just dropped Bloodsurge completely, and instead specced 2/2 Improved Berserker Rage which I use in my GCD spots between Bloodthirst and Whirlwind to generate an instant 20 rage, whilst continuing to use Heroic Strike at the same time.
Far better. Mainly because Heroic Strike with the Glyph rewards a high Critical Strike Warrior far more than Bloodsurge does.
There's not going to be a right or wrong answer, however. Depending on gear, Bloodsurge can either be next to useless or a DPS boost. I would, however, consider the previously unthinkable action of removing Bloodsurge from your talent tree and seeing how you get on!

Not sure what they mean by this, I see the 'Slam!' proc in the combat text all the time. If they're trying to fix it, they need to make the buff last for 10 seconds. 5 seconds might be fine for raiding where u have time to focus on buffs, but for PVP I've lost count of the number of times Ive missed it because the buff went off the moment i got frostnova'ed/stunned/chains of iced etc.
In PVP the buff falls off in the time it takes to use Heroic Fury followed by Intercept.
As of 3.1, it seems to be a talent that should have applications in PVP as well as PVE, but it falls off so often in PVP that its almost better to put the 3 points elsewhere.

i really really recommend the
Power Auras
addon to get notices of procs and events...
if you havent seen this addon yet, check it out... its probably a bit more needy of system resources, but its well worth it imo :))

if your trying to set up power auras or an addon like that to show when this has proced, keep in mind that the buff you get is not called bloodsurge. its called "slam!" took me a while to figure that out but thats most likely what you did wrong if you cant get it to work

Noticed that I'm doing very few slams on my fury, either I happen to be low on rage at exactly that interval or I'm already busy with Whirlwind or Bloodthirst instead.. Starting to wonder if it's really worth 3 talent points...
Slam is only about 1,3-2% of my damage atm, so putting 4 points in Enrage (due to some rearranging) for +8% damage sounds quite a bit better than that, if Enrage works on AoE damage that is, couldn't find any solid proof of that though..
Note that this is mostly in 5man heroics with lots of AoE, where Whirlwind and even cleave gets priority most of the time

I believe i am the first to comment on this on the cata database. Here are a few calculations that i made (note that i am not in cata so the rotation might be wrong, also i have rounded (nearest 5, not sure if that counts as rounding) all of the numbers to make it easier to read.
Your rotation should be bloodthirst, raging blow, bloodthirst, slam on single target, meaning three chances to proc bloodsurge before slam comes in your rotation.
There is a 20% chance the first time to proc it.
There is a 15% chance the second time to proc it ((100-20)/5, rounded, the 20% taken up by the first chance to proc is not included because bloodsurge cannot stack)
There is a 15% chance the third time to proc it ((100-(20+15))/5, rounded)
20+15+15 = 50. That means that ~50% of your Slams will be instant.
Unrounded, that would be a 48.8% chance, but it is close enough to call it 50% anyway.
Once again, I am not in cata beta, so I might have done something wrong there.
