Not currently bugged, you must kill the twilight cultists to get the eggs, they are usually carrying them. After they die, they drop said eggs and you can pick them up.

Be careful trying to chase one down if hes getting away with an egg. They run on the same paths, so going down the hill will cause you to run into every one of them that are coming up the hill on that route. Especially if you are doing this as a Warrior, because they do not give you experience for killing them, thus will not proc Victory Rush, denying you of the massive chunk of health needed between pulls.

This quest can be done without getting off your mount. I found it easiest to fly around the area they run back to and pick up the eggs on the ground and then just fly away.

The red eggs are scattered all throughout the Vermillion Redoubt. They are also dropped when you kill Twilight Abductors.
If you need help seeing them, hit Shift+V. The eggs will appear in a green nameplate. (Hit Shift+V to turn it off when you're done.)

Stood a bit before (off in a niche) the grotto they deliver the eggs to. Even if I DoT:ed one up so he was dead at the cave mouth, he didn't stop running. Instead I got three others angry at me - with no damage at all... bleh.

Kill the guys carrying eggs near the small lakes and do Encroaching Twilight quest at the same time. Win, win.
