They take away your naga illusion for this part, so you have a long swim to the island. I'd bring a water walking potion if you dont have class skills (swim form, water walk, etc) to make water travel easier.

Just talk to the questgiver again, and he'll give you another charm for the naga.

Then you wont have to swim all they way out there at regular swim speed.

If you are higher level, you can dismount Lord Hydronis and kill Lady Valishj yourself, saves a lot of time at 85.

I wasn't aware it is possible to ask for a new 滑刃之魅 for this quest.

But, if it weren't for that, the 水上行走药剂 really does work quite well if you do this at L35 or higher. You just need to avoid taking damage (specifically between the mainland and Ranazjar Isle) .

If you've been doing fishing dailies, there are decent odds you've already received one of these as a freebie.
You can drink the Elixir and mount up to ride across the water at full mounted speed (which may be faster than swimming Naga form).
The next quest where you fight is supposed to be done using Neptulon as a vehicle. So he takes the damage, not you. And you retain the buff which lasts 10 minutes.
So you have plenty of time to mount up and ride back again.
However: The biggest caveat is that the elixir requires L35, and many characters will probably reach this quest earlier, with L35 already being "easy mode". (I dinged 35 only moments before this quest and would have skipped the entire chain if not for my desire to get a jumpstart on Cenarion Circle rep.)
