I bet that if two players take this pet(any mini jouster) out at the same time, they will charge eachother. Somewhat like the clockwork robots does, only they fire rockets at eachother.

It looks like this is a tribute to the Joust arcade game; judging by the screenshot of the pet. It looks exactly like the main character from that game. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joust_(video_game)

At the moment it's not possible to obtain both pets. You can only choose one of the two pets from the last quest in the chain.

This pet is summoned with a very noticeable red flash (more so than the pet itself). I don't know about the blue version, though.

It's really too bad that the minipet doesn't fly like bird minipets do; it's a ground-based model. Sad.

While some claim that this pet's inability to fly is a glitch, I don't believe this is the case.

After all, the pet is based off of the game Joust, and that character's bird couldn't fly very well now, could it? I think it's cute that Blizzard kept it ground-bound.

.... Though it would be even cuter if it was a stuffy doll on a mini ostrich instead.

Unique Features
The Gold Mini Jouster is not a unique companion pet because it shares the same model with the Blue Mini Jouster. This pet has pretty generic animations and shares the animations that in-game condors have. When this pet is summoned, the owner will /cheer and a flash of gold light will appear.

How to get it
This pet is a reward from the quest Egg Wave in Mount Hyjal. You have the option between picking this pet, or the Blue Mini Jouster. Be confident with the color of mini jouster you want to have as your companion as once you complete the quest and accept your reward there is no way to change your choice.

As of this patch it's a level 80 minipet whereas most others (likely all but the other one) are level 1.

Miniwing had this issue and was once level...96? I believe, could be fixed in a future patch.

From now this pet is not ground only :) They fixed it and now it's flying.

I can confirm as of 4.1.0 this companion is flying with me on my flying mounts.

Also just noticed that it is level 80 with 30,951 health compared to all my other companions that are level 1 with 42 health.

Has anyone else noticed if this was this way before or if it changed? Maybe it's possible for your jouster to fight with other player's jousters now?

As of patch 4.2, you can get this pet even if you chose the Blue Mini Jouster by completing “无敌”翼手龙？战斗力只有5。.

The Gold Mini Jouster is a pet reward from
You have the choice between 蓝色小矛骑兵 and 金色小矛骑兵

After completing the daily 警戒之翼 10 times, you will be awarded with the achievment “无敌”翼手龙？战斗力只有5。 which will reward you with 吱吱响的盒子 (this will allow you to collect the mini jouster that you didn't pick in the initial quest)
