Because not being an engineer, and trying to do CoT, the flight from Org/TB to there is annoyingly long. So would this effectivly cut the time down? I swear it does affect taxi, but that could just be very wishful thinking.

You know, I've advocated the true math of Crusader Aura for a long time now, but only recently did I begin to doubt whether or not it's valid. I came across a potential stumbling block where semantics become the difference between what's right and wrong.

You see, the basis for the argument that Crusader Aura causes a Epic Flying Mount to move at 456% run speed is in the assumed statement that the Epic Flyer "increases movement speed by 280%".

A normal epic mount gives the following buffed statement: "Increases speed by 100%." Because of this, the math works out to 100% (normal running speed) + 100% (increase from bird) = 200% of base running speed while mounted. In additional, Crusader Aura would add 20% to the total value, meaning that the mounted player would now move at 1.2(100+100) = 240% speed.

The epic flyer's buff statement is as follows: "Increases flight speed by 280%." Using the same logic as for the ground epic mount, we would take the base flight speed of a player and multiply it by 2.8 to arrive at their total flight speed while mounted on an epic flyer and not under the effect of Crusader Aura.

Here's my dilemma. A player's base flight speed is 0. Any percentage of 0 exceeding 100% will always be 0. Thus, 280% of 0 would still result in a lack of movement. If we interpret the buff's syntax literally, as we've been doing to find the total movement speed of Crusader Aura-infused Epic Flight, we arrive at this conclusion.

Given that any percentage increase to a null value would result in a null value, we can assume one of two things.

1) The movement speed increase is implied to be an increase to run speed, but applies to flight.
2) The movement speed increase is an increase to a set, invisible value determined to be "base" flight speed. In this way, flight speed could start at 0 and still see an incremental increase based on percentage. For instance, a 100% increase to 0 could result in a movement speed of 100% .

Most people automatically assume the first, as I have been doing, as well. Theoretically, then, a person mounted on an Epic Flyer with a flight speed increase of 280% would be moving at 280% of normal player run speed. Were that the case, applying Crusader Aura would result in a total Epic Flight speed of 336%.

336% and 456% are obviously worlds apart in terms of overall speed. Thus, my best recommendation for testing this is to ask a Paladin who has an Epic Flyer to fly in front of you while you're on your Epic Flyer, out of party to avoid receiving Crusader Aura. If they blow out of sight, obviously they're moving at 456%. If, however, they are moving notably faster, but not so fast that you only see them for a few seconds before they disappear, it can be assumed that they're moving at 336%, instead.

I was too tired when I posted this, and I neglected that performing the experiment using two epic flyers would yield sketchy results unless you could actually measure the speed of each mount.

Why? Simple... If you're both using flyers, you have the same give-or-take of 100% base running speed. Thus, the actual difference in speed, regardless of which is correct, would be minimal. I'm not even entirely sure that made sense, but just trust me that the experiment doesn't work. I tried.

So, the experiment that will work is this: ask someone with a regular flyer to fly next to you while you're riding your 60% ground mount. Since both mounts "increase movement speed" by 60%, this will give a clear answer. If both mounts move at the exact same speed, then the flying mount is moving at 160% of running speed, and Epic Flyers have to move, correspondingly, at 380% speed. If, on the other hand, the ground mount is faster than the flying mount, we arrive at the conclusion that the flying mount does not base its initial speed before increase on running speed, but on the "invisible value" that I mentioned above.

If/when I have time, I will conduct this experiment, and I will edit this post with my conclusive evidence. This thing has gotten awfully long, after all...

Yes, Crusader Aura works for mounts with a 310% speed increase as well ;o, like Ashes of Al'ar (drop from The Eye), or Swift Nether Drake (Arena PvP Reward).

With these mounts, your actual travel speed is 410%. With Crusader Aura you get an additional 20% for every 100%.

That means 410 x 1,20 = 492%.
That's a speed increase of 82%, making you fly at 492%.

If we compare this with a regular epic flier, we have a difference of 36%.

Your total speed increase with a 310% mount and Crusader Aura is 392%.

An easy macro to switch from Crusader Aura to any Aura, or the otherway around:

/cast crusader aura
/cast !name aura

Not an expert at macro-making, and if anyone knows how to remove the error it gives when switching to Crusader Aura, that would be perfect.

i think you guys are thinking too much into it, it increases the mounted speed by 20% so you would only get +300% instead of +280% it does not say increases mounted speed by 20% of the mount speed gg

Hey guyz Well the maths are like this
(The Base Speed doesnt matter because it's only the mounted speed that's increased)
Ex: 310 mount speed + 20 + 15,5 = 345,5
20 from Pursuit of Justice
if this talent isn't put it would result :
310 + 15,5 = 325,5

The aura doesn't increase the total speed, it just adds 20% to the already 380% extra, it doesnt multiply 380% with 1,2 it just increases 380%-400% stop making this more complicated than you already have.

So now our character sheets show our speeds broken down.

While in Shimmering Expanse, with a 60% movement buff - but no crusader aura:
On foot: Run Speed 160%, Flight Speed 110%, Swim Speed 148%
On Abyssal Seahorse: Run Speed 288%, Flight Speed 115%, Swim Speed 371%

In Shimmering Expanse with a 60% movement buff - but with crusader aura:
On foot: Run Speed 160%, Flight Speed 120%, Swim Speed 148%
On Abyssal Seahorse: Run Speed 300%, Flight Speed 120%, Swim Speed 371%

So am I correct to assume crusader has no effect on us while in the Abyss?

Here's a simple macro to help keep Crusader Aura up while you're mounted, and your regular aura up while you're not. (Adjust for your choice of mounts and auras, of course.)

/cast !Crusader Aura; !Retribution Aura; !Devotion Aura
/cast Golden King; Snowy Gryphon
/dismount

If you press it while you're not mounted, it will cast Crusader Aura and mount you on either your land or flying mount depending on whether the current terrain is flyable.

If you press it while you're mounted, it will dismount you and apply an aura based on your spec: in my case, Retribution for primary spec, and Devotion for secondary spec.

A quick look at the numbers proves that Crusader Aura doesn't stack.

Normal ground mounted speed is 200%. With the 10% bonus from the level 3 guild perk "Mount Up" it's 220%. For a Pally with Pursuit of Justice the bonus is 15% - 230%. Turn on Crusader Aura and you're at 240% - that extra 40 being a 20% improvement on the base speed. None of these bonuses stack; the largest bonus is the only one applied.

Same goes for flying speed: 410% base speed with Master Riding (100% + 310%). Guild perk gives you 10% (41) more - 451%. Pally PoJ gives 15% (61.5) for 471% as reported, rounded, in the Character Information dialog. Crusader Aura gives a 20% (82) increase on base speed, for 492%. Once again, none of these bonuses is stacking.

This is now the worst and most annoying skill for anyone dual-accounting or just playing in a group. It's a passive skill but it no longer affects party members!

So on ground mounts you constantly have to wait for the follower to catch up every ~50-100 yards traveled, but on an epic flying mount... Just give it up. They lose contact in under 50 yards so it's far easier (unfortunately) to fly each separate, then you just have to wait a while for them to arrive as well...

When you build a Stables (Level 1) you gain these abilities:

Enables the capture and training of special mounts on Draenor. Also allows you remain mounted while interacting with objects in outdoor Draenor zones.

These abilities are in your Spellbook & Abilities Frame under the Spellbook tab (bottom) and General tab (top right). As you search through you will find Silver Dollar Club.

You will no longer get dazed by enemies while riding mounts in outdoor Draenor zones.

And the spell listed in your Spellbook is Dragoon.

I hear discussions and talk of whether or not this speed buff stacks with others, and I realize that they, like me, did not notice the one of most incredibly important Patch Notes for the expansion. Everyone is up in arms over flying in Draenor, and no one has even realized how slowly they are riding in Draenor.

The NEW approach to "Movement Speed" (Speed Buffs) is a terrible NERF that I have noticed and wondered about for weeks. It never made sense to me until I read the LAST section of:

Take for instance a character that had a racial or class speed buff of 5%
(the two that come to mind are much more robust Crusader Aura/On a Pale Horse),
a guild perk speed buff (Mount Up - all guilds have it today) of 10%,
and let's add the Stables (Level 3) buff of Master Scout which equals 20%.

So we'll use three buffs - 5%, 10%, and 20% (for this example we will consider them all to be stackable).
Much of the confusion lies in the fact that speed is measure in percent of normal running speed. Walking speed is 40% and when adjusted for in-game distance it is equivalent to 5.784 mph and running of course would be 100% and 14.46 mph.

The Maximums are:
An unbuffed character Running@100% (14.46 mph),
Journeyman Riding allows Riding@200% (28.92 mph),
and
Master Riding allows Flying@410% (59.29 mph) .

------------------------------- MoP --------------------------------------

In Mist of Pandaria (MoP) speed buffs would be calculated multipicatively against the base speed then added to that speed so:
Running:
100% x .05 (05%) = +05%
100% x .10 (10%) = +10%
100% x .20 (20%) = +20%
100% + 05% + 10% (Stables buff is only mounted) = 115% (16.63mph)

Riding:
200% x .05 (05%) = +10%
200% x .10 (10%) = +20%
200% x .20 (20%) = +40%
200% + 10% + 20% + 40% = 270% (39.04mph)

Flying:
410% x .05 (05%) = +20.5%
410% x .10 (10%) = +41.0%
410% x .20 (20%) = +82.0%
410% + 20.5% + 41.0% + 82.0% = 553.5% (80.04mph)

------------------------------- WoD --------------------------------------
Today speed buffs would be calculated additively and only the highest speed buff is used:
Running:
100% + 05% = 105%
100% + 10% = 110%
100% + 20% = 120%
The highest buff is +110% (Stables buff is only mounted)
110% (15.91mph) ===> -5% (-0.72mph) in speed from MoP.

Riding:
200% + 05% = 205%
200% + 10% = 210%
200% + 20% = 220%
The highest buff is +220%
220% (31.81mph) ===> -50% (-7.23mph) in speed from MoP.

If they ever let us fly again.
They have at least slowed it down.
Be certain that even the folks from Irvine can handle it.

Flying:
200% + 05% = 415%
200% + 10% = 420%
200% + 20% = 430%
The highest buff is +430%
430% (62.18mph) ===> -123.5% (-17.86mph) in speed from MoP.

In MoP, I was flying along at 451% with Mount Up (410% x 1.1 = 451%)
today in WoD I am flying along at 420% with Mount Up (410% + 10% = 420%)

Just think, by the time they give us flying our max speed may be 250% ... just to make sure folks living in Irvine can keep up.
(By the way, Irvine is a city built in the valley where I was born and raised. A population in that valley of 3k is now 3Mil. I am "Old and Slow".)

This stacks with Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part One Giving you 240% movement speed in Kul Tiras / Zandalar, and ALSO stacks with Swift Landing (BFA order advancement) giving you a total of 260% movement speed for 5 mins upon landing from a flight point.

Currently there is a bug where Steed of Glory makes you immune to all CC so here is an easy way to win RBG's:

Divine Steed + + Steed of Glory + Crusader Aura

With Divine Steed, Cavalier and Steed of Glory you have complete immunity to ALL CC for 10 seconds and move at 120% speed with Crusader Aura. With this you can easily make it halfway across the map as a flag carrier. If you take Night Fae and get the ability to have an extra 50% speed increase for 12 seconds with 4 total blinks then it is even stronger. Because gearing is super easy with PvP if you can win RBG's and it is even easy to switch covenants. Everyone should be running two Paladins with this set-up have the first run it halfway and hand off to the next. You can cap a flag in 30 seconds or less with COMPLETE IMMUNITY TO CC. Have the rest of the team defend or something. Maybe if enough people run this strategy Blizzard will fix it.

Crusader Aura affects on "in combat" mounts such as Divine Steed so if you already have Devotion Aura and Concentration Aura covered you may as well use it for a bit more movement.
