This is one of the buildings that will be introduced with the Garrison in Warlords of Draenor expansion pack. This is the first level of 3, with 2 more upgrades available.

This will very useful for all players, and has the following abilities for each level:
Level 1: Reduces mission travel time by 25% and grants access to new exploration missions.
Level 2:Increase player mounted speed in Draenor and provides access to Pack Animal Mission bonus.
Level 3: Unlocks Specializations.

This can only be placed on a large lot.

Other buildings that can be placed on a large lot include:
Dwarven Bunker / War Mill Level 3
Barracks Level 3
Mage Tower / Spirit Lodge Level 1

Sadly the mounts will not be "special" if everyone gets to use them.

The mounts "captured" and "trained" here are permanent and stay in your mount section.

Your initial quests involve filling your Stables with six (6) special mounts. Alliance quests are listed with the Horde quests linked with a '+'.

The Stables occupies a Large Plot in your garrison.

Stable perks:

Level 1: Enables the capture and training of special mounts on Draenor.
Level 2: You may remain mounted while interacting with objects in outdoor Draenor zones.
Level 3: Increases mount speed in Draenor by 20%

There are a total of 8 mounts obtainable if you choose the Stables.

The first six require capturing a wild mount with a lasso and then completing several quests with them before they are finally learned. Quests involve killing monsters around Draenor while mounted on your mount-in-training. These quests are accessible with a Level 1 Stables.

All mounts will be kept and ridable if you decide to demolish your Stables after learning them.

Two additional mounts come from defeating mount-in-training targets while carrying an item that makes defeating the target more challenging.

Armored Frostboar Reward from (H) / (A). Defeat all of the mount-in-training targets in Nagrand while carrying the Black Claw of Sethe: Damage taken increased by 25%. Movement speed reduced by 25%.
Armored Frostwolf Reward from (H) / (A) . Defeat all mount-in-training targets in Nagrand while carrying the Garn-Tooth Necklace: Damage taken increased by 50%. Movement speed reduced by 50%.

If the describtion above is right and you can interact while mounted with objects with a level 1 stable this should be the first building for anyone planning to questlevel fast and hard.

Also allows you remain mounted while interacting with objects in outdoor Draenor zones. Tested on beta: it does indeed work on objects (so it's nice for questing), but it does not work on herbs, you will still get dismounted. I haven't tested it with mining, but I assume that doesn't work either.

"Stables Level 2: You will no longer get dazed by enemies while riding mounts in outdoor Draenor zones." Doesn't seem to be working, at least for me, most every time. Most often I get dazed and dismounted but I just now witnessed an event where I only got dazed. I'm not sure if anyone else has been experiencing similar problems. It's starting to get pretty aggravating I must admit.

EDIT: The issue has been addressed and fixed.

If there are any hunters wondering whether you get a stable master for your pets you do get one, just letting everyone know since I wasn't too sure on this one personally, and more information is always nice.

So, I have Stables now and while it is handy to interact without dismounting...I'm not crazy about having this take up one of my plots. On the other hand, I really do want the mounts...so, if I do the quests to get all of the mounts, then destroy the Stables and put a different building in its place, will I lose the mounts?

I haven't been able to confirm this yet, but I believe the mounts that randomly appear as decoration (as in they aren't the ones you're working on taming, but just hanging around) are from your own personal collection. Unless they randomly set a Purple Netherwing Drake and a Crimson Deathcharger to appear in there.

Honest question: My 93 hunter has the stables and I've trained the Silverpelt and Icehoof through 2-3 quests, however, the past 3 days, I've not seen anything new appear. Do you have to be a certain level to complete it? I've searched for a good while for an definite answer but haven't found anything.

Edit: Confirmed that when I leveled up, more tames became available but still no gained mount. Happy leveling everyone!

You can change the mounts that appear by selecting a mount and clicking "set favorite" or "remove favorite".

When you build a Stables (Level 1) you gain these abilities:

Enables the capture and training of special mounts on Draenor. Also allows you remain mounted while interacting with objects
in outdoor Draenor zones.

These abilities are in your Spellbook & Abilities Frame under the Spellbook tab (bottom) and General tab (top right). As you search through you will find Silver Dollar Club.

When you upgrade to Stables (Level 2) you gain an additional ability:

You will no longer get dazed by enemies while riding mounts in outdoor Draenor zones.

And the spell listed in your Spellbook is Dragoon.

MOVEMENT SPEED

I hear discussions and talk of whether or not this speed buff stacks with others, and I realize that they, like me, did not notice the one of most incredibly important Patch Notes for the expansion. Everyone is up in arms over flying in Draenor, and no one has even realized how slowly they are riding in Draenor.

The NEW approach to "Movement Speed" (Speed Buffs) is a terrible NERF that I have noticed and wondered about for weeks. It never made sense to me until I read the LAST section of:

The Iron Tide: 6.0.2 Patch Notes

Take for instance a character that had a racial or class speed buff of 5%
(the two that come to mind are much more robust Heart of the Crusader/On a Pale Horse),
a guild perk speed buff (Mount Up - all guilds have it today) of 10%,
and let's add the Stables (Level 3) buff of Master Scout which equals 20%.

So we'll use three buffs - 5%, 10%, and 20% (for this example we will consider them all to be stackable).
Much of the confusion lies in the fact that speed is measure in percent of normal running speed. Walking speed is 40% and when adjusted for in-game distance it is equivalent to 5.784 mph and running of course would be 100% and 14.46 mph.

The Maximums are:
An unbuffed character Running@100% (14.46 mph),
Journeyman Riding allows Riding@200% (28.92 mph),
and
Master Riding allows Flying@410% (59.29 mph) .

------------------------------- MoP --------------------------------------

In Mist of Pandaria (MoP) speed buffs would be calculated multipicatively against the base speed then added to that speed so:
Running:
100% x .05 (05%) = +05%
100% x .10 (10%) = +10%
100% x .20 (20%) = +20%
100% + 05% + 10% (Stables buff is only mounted) = 115% (16.63mph)

Riding:
200% x .05 (05%) = +10%
200% x .10 (10%) = +20%
200% x .20 (20%) = +40%
200% + 10% + 20% + 40% = 270% (39.04mph)

Flying:
410% x .05 (05%) = +20.5%
410% x .10 (10%) = +41.0%
410% x .20 (20%) = +82.0%
410% + 20.5% + 41.0% + 82.0% = 553.5% (80.04mph)

------------------------------- WoD --------------------------------------
Today speed buffs would be calculated additively and only the highest speed buff is used:
Running:
100% + 05% = 105%
100% + 10% = 110%
100% + 20% = 120%
The highest buff is +110% (Stables buff is only mounted)
110% (15.91mph) ===> -5% (-0.72mph) in speed from MoP.

Riding:
200% + 05% = 205%
200% + 10% = 210%
200% + 20% = 220%
The highest buff is +220%
220% (31.81mph) ===> -50% (-7.23mph) in speed from MoP.

If they ever let us fly again.
They have at least slowed it down.
Be certain that even the folks from Irvine can handle it.

Flying:
200% + 05% = 415%
200% + 10% = 420%
200% + 20% = 430%
The highest buff is +430%
430% (62.18mph) ===> -123.5% (-17.86mph) in speed from MoP.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In MoP, I was flying along at 451% with Mount Up (410% x 1.1 = 451%)
today in WoD I am flying along at 420% with Mount Up (410% + 10% = 420%)

Just think, by the time they give us flying our max speed may be 250% ... just to make sure folks living in Irvine can keep up.
(By the way, Irvine is a city built in the valley where I was born and raised. A population in that valley of 3k is now 3Mil. I am "Old and Slow".)

I can understand the mount speed being beneficial while questing or farming. But usually in time you might become a full time raider and leave the farming up to alts. So wondering if keeping the stables once you have all the mounts is worth it?

Untrained mounts that you get for the quests take no falling damage. Might be worth hanging onto one of your whistles and not turning in that last quest, at least until this gets patched.

I've been jumping mine off the top of the elevator in Shattrath, although you might want to test somewhere a little less damaging if you don't believe me ;)

Does each alt who gets stables, also get the quests for it? It's easy resources for 12 days, wh ich is nice when you're a resource-strapped noob.. pay 150 resources, get nearly 1k back..

In regards to training quests and order: there seems to be a certain training limit a particular mount can get based on the day (probably related to when you captured it). These quests are not dailies per se, because you can get multiple quests per mount on one day. When it comes to easing the training, you might want to consider to 'catch up' the initial two mount with the others and kill one target per day for all mounts, because all mounts ultimately follow the same order.

To explain: day one, capture the talbuk and clefthoof, day two both kill Pearl-husk, day three both kill Rakkiri, and the day after that both of them and the boar kill Riplash etc, until ultimately all six mounts kill Maimclaw on the 13th day.

This has a few advantages:

You don't have to go to seperate places each day.
You can pick up Black Claw of Sethe specifically for the target you are killing (and not pick it up for one mount whilst you don't need it for another).
You get all mounts, including Armored Frostboar, in one go.

The only disadvantage I can think of is that if you lack only a few mounts for a mount achievement you'll have to wait a few days longer, but this is more of a luxury problem than anything else.

Changelog:

2015-01-09: started doing the quests on my main (despite having the mounts) and noticing that if you capture the talbuk and clefthoof on the same day, they do start together on the initial quests. Advice still stands to wait with the 'higher' mounts on the initial mounts catch up.

For BM Hunters, an interesting note is that the mounts-in-training count as pets, and can benefit from certain passives, abilities, and even glyphs.

Furthermore, mounts-in-training also count as pets for targeting commands and macros.

I'll update this list as I do more testing.

- Spirit Bond
- Camouflage (cannot camouflage while mounted)

Just as a note. I decided to get the stables on my Archeologist today, thinking it might make it go a little faster (She's maxed but trying for all the rare solves). Stables does not work with archeology, unlike the mount you get from the corral in Nagrand does. Dismounted every time I dig at a site. Not happy about that at all. Wish I'd have known!

Genuinely surprised noone has commented on this, but while you have your stables, mounts from your mount journal will show up as occupants of the stables. It's random, but any of your mounts can show up there. Weird part was somehow they managed to get my Vashj'ir Seahorse into the thing. R.I.P. Timmy.

If you are creating stables just to have all those mounts in your collection, make youself a favor and use of you alliance character for this - so you don't have to make a travel to Silvermoon Valley trough Spires of Arak every day. Another idiotic assimetry from Blizzard....

If you want to get the achievement mount Armored Frostboar along with the other 6 mounts, you can hold on to the mount quests in Nagrand until you can build level 2 stables.

This way, you can complete the first round of Nagrand quests using the Black Claw of Sethe. By the time you get the 6 stables mounts, you would also get the achievement Advanced Husbandry/Advanced Husbandry and the associated mount Armored Frostboar in one go. Of course, you can always complete this achievement at a later time, but this results in some repetition as you will have to kill the required mobs a second time.

Unfortunately, this does not work for the Armored Frostwolf as it requires Garn-Tooth Necklace (from a level 3 stables), which can only be obtained after all 6 mounts have been trained.
