No, you're not doing it wrong. This quest REALLY is that annoying, and will take WAY more than five tries to persuade the primalists.

Edit: abhorsen1988 makes an excellent point: Talk to them while mounted on your regular flying mount, fly up if they turn aggo.

If you are playing a hunter, after Primalist attack you, you can use feign death to reset him and try again on the same one.

I found Terro before finishing the persuasion part, and now I don't see any more primalists. I'm worried I accidentally completed the quests in the wrong order and now it's bugged since I'm locked out of seeing them?

EDIT: I had to party sync with someone else starting the quests to become unstuck

If you are a HUNTER, dismiss your pet and IF they become hostile feign death. (jsut like Mefixx pointed out)

I completed the Terro quest before talking to any primalists so they disappeared for me. Relogging brought them back.

Helpful no matter what class you are: The SECOND you start to click on the primalist spam your hotkey to SUMMON YOUR DRAGON, if the primalist aggros you, boom fly off, drop combat, rinse, repeat. This took me several toons to stumble upon this solution, it works, and it's foolproof.

Hop on your static flying mount, you can talk to them while flying in the air. If they aggro, just fly up out of range and they'll reset back to friendly and you can talk to them again. Just rinse and repeat and you'll have all 5 done in a minute.

I can't get any of the primalists to be swayed. if i talk to them or kill them. Suggestions?

Took me 32 kills just to get 5 updates. This is stupid. Then on top of that if one mob turns aggro the surround mobs will also so you get attacked my 5-7 mobs instead of just 1.

15 kills and still no drop. Clicking them mages them angry but droprate is low 0/5 still so I gave up.

Practically impossible to do this quest now with a ton of boomkins spam farming all the Primalists.

I was actually pleasantly surprised! I too was suffering from the Boomkin Brigade killing everything and everyone before I could as much as target them. Reported the whole team to Blizz, then again the next day, and the day after that they were all gone and I got a thank you note from Blizz for reporting disrupting behaviour. Faith somewhat restored!

About 10 Druids were killing all the NPCs, making this nearly impossible. Fun stuff.

I was able to complete this quest even with a bunch of moonkin bots in the area.

Make sure to bind the "Interact with Mouseover" key. The primalists always spawn in the exact same spot, so stand on the exact spot where a primalist spawns then spam your "Interact with Mouseover" key.

FWIW I found that if a given NPC spawn provides quest progress they will do so each time they spawn.

There is 1 mob I found outside the boomkin range at 38.44 22.22. He spawns with a Dreambreaker Wildfire. He has to walk to get into the boomkin range, so you have time to sway him. The downside is that the Wildfire doesn't move for about 5 minutes before getting killed by the boomkins. About 1 min later, the guy will spawn again and you can sway him.

So if you're not in a time rush, this is the guy.
