If you encounter a similar issue as me, and Gulchak's Pointer somehow disappears from your inventory, there is a simple fix: abandon the quest. Voraxian and Gulchak will reappear where they originally were beside Sabellian, and you can get both the quest and the pointer back. I would recommend doing the quest immediately, as I am not entirely sure what happened to me particularly that caused the pointer to disappear from my bags.

You're looking for swirling black smoke/mists on the ground. Hard to see against the black ground, but they are there. Use the item they gave and direct your companion to dig there. Kill the wurm that spawns and loot the quest item.

Is there a reason this pointer only seems to spawn 7 million hp worms?

Hi all

On This Quest You need to collect 12 Lava-Charred Flesh it's drop from Crust Lurker to get them out from ground use Gulchak's Pointer - where is cloud over the ground. was hard for me to pull 2 in same time Gulchak was fight with first one and didn't want to move for next.

How to do 2x4 party in spoiler:

First go on spot wher you want to do 2x4 farm. Spots:
24.6 58.1 In Basement
28.3 58.8
25 56 in Basement
Then Create party in LRG call "2x4 Key Basement WMoff gr1"

When You get to 5 please give someone who know that He need to keep max 4 please in party.

Then open new party call it "2x4 Key Basement WMoff gr2"

No just keep 4 people in 2 party

Mobs will start spawn much faster and farm will go faster to.

Is nice Quest for Sabellian reputation - 2500 :D You need to do it :).

Using the item on the ground but the NPC doesn't do anything?
Stealth makes him not work. Leave stealth.

for Wyrm Food travel to /way 40.4, 60.1
This roughly the middle of the quest area. You are looking for black dust clouds on the ground, mark them with Gulchak's Pointer. This will cause Gulchak to dig up Crust Lurker that drops Lava-Charred Flesh. I had to walk over the marked location to get Gulchak to dig up the Crust Lurker. Once complete turn in at /way 27.58, 56.68

Around 40.09,57.19 in Emberflow.

There is a cudgel provided by the quest giver. It did not show up in the Quest Objective for me as it usually did for the 1st time, I had to come to Wowhead to see what needed to be done.

As mentioned above, as you zone in the quest area, you have this ogre who starts following you, Gulchak.
Find moving smoke on the ground.
Drop the instrument "Gulchak's Pointer" on those moving black smoke (you know there's a worm underneath), and a worm will spawn.
BE CAREFUL! It could spawn regular lurkers who only have lava spit OR elites ones who have 2 additional abilities that are fatal if not interrupted.
Also be careful with patrolling magmammoth crushers.

Gulchak will tank the worms, so kill as fast as you can!

If you have Particle Density disabled in your graphics settings, the swirlies that indicate where you need to use the quest item will not show on the ground.

Set it to low at minimum and they should show.

There is a chance for an elite Crust Gorger to appear instead of a normal one. The elite drops more Lava-Charred Flesh than their normal counterparts.

For the duration of this quest, ensure that the following is set to Ultra:
Options > System > Graphics > Advanced > Particle Density.

If this is set to Disabled, then you won't see the required dust swirl necessary for the quest.

This quest is so slow and the tracker so inaccurate you'd wager someone from classic designed it

Description

It's hungry work, defending and fighting for the Obsidian Citadel, and dragons can eat a great deal. We need to replenish our stores. Lurking beneath the hardened lava, squirming through the magma, are some very tasty worms. This may not appeal to you, but to a hungry dragon, they are delicious. Take our servant Gulchak and use his pointer to direct him towards disturbances in the lava. He will attract the worms for you to harvest.
