Just fight the stuff while you follow him best you can, when he gets to the conduit wait 2-3 seconds till the mobs spawn and pop an AE fear if you have it, or Frost Nova/Vanish/etc he'll be done within a second.

the absolute easiest way to do this is to clear out the mobs on the path, accept the quest, mount up, and then land on the building close to the portal. when the 3 mobs summon, attack each of them so they evade bug. they you complete the quest without needing to fight at all

if you fail the quest by letting the guy die, you have to wait about 10 min before he respawns. pretty annoying, i thought it became broken after the demolitionist was killed.

Note, if you accepted this quest and the NPC (Demolishinist) didn't spawn immediately, then abandon quest and wait a few minutes.... There was a group beside me and when I accepted quest, the NPC didn't spawn. So I ran around a few mins looking for another spawn spot.... Wasn't until I abandon quest and talk to the NPC standing on the teleport pad, that I took the quest again and the escort NPC spawned this time.

Oh and yes, definitely clear the path south first.

Before you begin, start at the Star Wars transporter tunnel thing at 56, 43. Work your way north towards the transport pad, killing everything in the way and even some stuff a bit out of the way. Hopefully, by the time you hit the pad and summon the demolitionist, everything south of you will have been cleared and you'll just have to deal with the 3 adds at the end.

Strangely, the 3 adds at the end are pretty easy Nexus Stalkers, much like the ones you fought while questing at Area 52. Dunno why the Archons and Overlords wanna turn into them, but it does make finishing this quest much easier.

worst quest ever.

first the bug,

make sure you are standing on the platform that summons the quest giver or else the escort NPC will not show. Tested this numerous times, it only showed up for me while standing on the platform.

Second, the design of the area.

Mobs are tightly packed, here so be careful. the problem with this quest is that there is way too much shit lying on the ground making it confusing to complete. I didn't know which way the npc would turn towards, he would turn right, and then left, making you aggro the mob to the right, not knowing that you don't have to kill it.

Not to mention the distance from the quest area from the nearest rez point, way to go blizz on keeping me logged in for an extra 12 minutes to run to my corpse.

Third, GG Bliz.

trying to add lore to this quest makes it really stupid. Not only to i have to deal with summoning the quest giver in a dangerous area, but the summoned NPC escort is just as stupid, i mean there are maybe 4 types of soloable quests in this game, why would you have to make this one any different by adding a summonable NPC in an aggroable area ?

I give you 1/10 for effort, worst quest ever.

By the way if your a mage, use mage armor its hella easier

This NPC does NOT fight back. He only pauses a couple times very briefly and lets any and everything beat on him.

I solo'd this as a 70 hunter. My pet died trying to pull 3 off him. There was no time to rez so I had to melee/kite/trap the other four that jumped him on the way to the giant platform. It bought him just enough time to plant the bomb. When the quest popped up as "complete" I FD, mounted up and flew away, leaving the poor light man to die... I suggest you clear the road first before you start the quest... especially those with a deadzone.

Extemely odd quest, possibly bugged. Holy Priest, lvl 70.

I didnt realize the stupid hologram would just walk through the area aggroing everything in sight, not even stopping to wait. By the time I took aggro off the third mob, I was in over my head. I decide to run for my life as soon as the 4th and 5th adds came. I spammed the usual Renew/POM/Shield/Fear and ran out of the base, dragging 12+ mobs behind me.

Living and finally de-aggroing, something VERY weird happened. The quest completed. I can only assume I aggro'd everything in a mile radius fearing and running out that nothing was left to attack the hologram. I won't complain, but this is not an easy task with one person.

As others have said, make sure you've got the area to the south cleared before you accept this quest, because he WILL chain-pull the entire thing. By the time I killed the first two, he'd aggroed three more and I was at half-health.

And yes, after accepting the quest you get a 10-min debuff before you can try again.

Only thing worse than an escort quest, is an escort quest with a NPC that doesn't even bother to pause on his route and had a 10-minute cooldown.

Worst quest in netherstorm, IMO.

DId this quest today, May 2nd...Very easy...
do not walk behind him...as soon as he starts to move...mount up your flying mount..and just stay near him..nothing attacks him at all...very easy...might be a bug to be fixed...so RUN THIS NOW..and make sure you are flying..he does not aggro anything..he still shouts...but he takes no damage..and nothing attacks him.

This quest is annoying at best. Managed to solo it 1st try but only because I read here first. Basically they need to make the spawn timers longer, or designate this as a group quest. I cleared out the path the image takes, and by the time I got back to the pad to begin the quest the mobs were already respawning. Now, I'm a mage so I kill fast. I can't even imagine prot warriors or holy priests having to do this.

Flying had no noticeable impact, as all the mobs aggro'd him when he got in their range without me even near them. So, it may be a random bug that some people are fortunate enough to get.

Completely agreed - this quest is very annoying. I only finished it because of the tips here. It's really hard to clear a path because there are so many mobs and they respawn very fast and you don't know exactly what his path is the first time. On top of that, he stops along the way to sightsee and make comments - he can't talk while he walks, he has to stop and gape at stuff. Meanwhile the respawn timer is ticking and nearby mobs are getting closer. I would have abandoned this quest if I hadn't needed the reward and wanted to finish the chain.

Pretty easy for a rogue, as has been said, just clear what mobs you can first, and then sap as he gets near to any respawns or patrols, and when the three spawn at the end while he is setting the bomb, hit Evasion and use Ghostly Strike if you have it. You may take damage at the end, but just wait for the complete message, and vanish.

It happened to me also, i was unable to keep up at first, and saw him aggro a mob, then the mob moved off him almost immediately, and after that he did not aggro any mobs anymore, i observed him in my flight form and he was not attacked at all. easiest escort quest i've seen lol

perhaps this was some glitch, maybe it'll be fixed soon, but for now, its just a free quest

As a protection warrior, this is probably the worst quest that I've seen in all the game and as some other quests that are based on engaging lots of mobs this one should be considered at least elite.

The guy that you have to escort does not stop and does not fight even if he gets attacked, what means that if you start the quest right away in a mater of less than a minute he will have get 3 or for guys on him plus any random Ethereum Overlord that is patroling the area. That will mean that he will be dead in a matter of secs and you will be afterwards as the pulls will be too big for you to handle.

If you try the tactic of cleaning his way before starting the quest, even going 2 weapons and dps you can not clean enough of the mobs before they start to spam again.

Then either you are a dps class pretty well geared that kills things extremely quick or you are like my mate prot pala that he normally farms in packs of 15 mobs at the same time to finish with full mana and full health. But as a prot warrior this is completey impossible, just bring a friend.

I don't know, but this quest finished by itself...

Due to the fact that I didn't read the text closely, I started the quest with only 20% health or so.... after helping the guy killing the first assassin(the guy won't help you fight, he'll just walk slowly forward...) I decided to eat food and let that guy die. After 3 mins or so, I was certain that the guy is already dead... I got the message that the quest is complete.... O.o

Definitely one of the worst, most poorly designed quests in the game. Holy priest here -- couldn't finish it. The NPC is an idiot, as he keeps on walking and aggroing more and more guys. Doesn't help you at all.

I am AMAZED Blizz hasn't fixed this. Oh well.

For some reason, the NPC you are escorting doesn't aggro. So if you just hop on your flying mount and follow him around from a distance, you don't have to fight anything to complete this quest.

As a druid at lvl 68+ this is pretty easy. Go into flightform and fly ahead and around the mobs. They will aggro you, but just pull them around till the demolitionist has passed, then fly up. You immediately loose aggro from the melee mobs, and a bit higher you loose from the casters (you have to get out of range of course).

Don't believe that the demolitionist doesn't aggro, though you might be tricked by him, because he keeps on walking.

Seems like 50/50 for aggroing, though some people say he does aggro, he did the first time (and i failed), the 2nd time i mounted up as wowhead suggested and he did not aggro at all.

Take it as you will, I may have gotten lucky, but he did pass through mobs.

Solo'ed it as Prot Warrior

It wasn't easy but what I did is I let him aggro then I would pull it off, but he does aggro a ton of shiz on the way, and he never stops walking. I ended up popping a health potion, last stand, and shield wall and after the npc completed his task I ran until they de-aggroed, and barely lived lol. I have half epics so prob not good to do it they way I did it but it worked.

There is a chance when he spawns that he becomes evade bugged, meaning the other mobs dont even attempt to run over to him. Happened to me and i just flew around above him till it completed.

I started clearing the mobs from the back and took quest, only for an ally rogue to gank me half way the t**t.
I am on a PVP server but tend not to world gank if allies are doing an escort quest or dailies, not constructive for either side.

Did not bother retaking, the GY is also on one of the other islands and a long run so could not be bothered with it.
Prot Warrior.
Will wait for guildies or others around the area to do again.

I did this quest today. I got on my flying mount and followed from above. All the mobs ignored him, and then at the part where the two etherals spawn when he plants the bomb they spawned and then immediately despawned. Third easiest quest ever.

If you have a flying mount, just hop on it and stay above the Escort. You'll be able to fly through this Quest without ever engaging into battle.

I was worried about this quest after reading all the comments, but it was cake for me.

The NPC aggroed two mobs as soon as he spawned, I killed those quickly, shifted to flight form, and just followed him from the air. He didn't aggro anything else, until he got to his destination and the 3 mobs appear. Then, I just killed those quickly.

Flying worked for me, nothing aggroed.

If you are a rogue then just sap ahead. They have a fairly short aggro range, so you should have plenty of time to sneak up and sap. Use distract to stop the patrols at a safe distance.

when i was first trying the quest,i killed 4 mobs on the way-had no idea what d happen-
then the man next to me aggroed too many mobs ,and as i was low on hp i tried to run the way back.
but then suddenly a minute later,the q was completed,the spawning mobs chased me i guess,and as i was too far away,they couldnt touch the quest guy and he did his job with no problem
so i suggest that u do the same,kill a few mobs,then leave the guy alone and run the way back
when the q completed the mobs dissappeared as well

When i tried this the NPC didnt aggro any mobs, in fact i aggroed a few myself and while i was killing them he walked off into the distance. When i finished my mobs i went to go find him and suddenly the quest was completed.

this is the easiest quest ever if u have a flying mount! he does not pull aggro only u do. i just flew over him and he just walked straight there and it was complete. i would suggest to save this quest till u have a flying mount. even if you're a druid who can get flight form at 68 you should still wait becuase of the added money u get for handing in quest at lvl 70. so wait imo because u will get more money and be closer to buying that heavily over priced epic flying mount ! :P

70 Rogue (Assassination)
stood right behind the guy while he did his thing, had 3 guys aggro to me and pull me out of stealth. I just stood there and took the damage, once the quest showed completed and the demolitionist stepped back, i vanished and the mobs disappeared. EZ quest, but probably bugged since the demolitionist didn't aggro the mobs at all.

Don't believe any post here that states that you can just mount up and fly over the npc while he walks. After about ten feet he died and I got the 10 minute debuff. This quest sucks.

1. Delivering the Message
• Accept the quest, Delivering the Message, from the Image of Commander Ameer (summon him first by clicking on the Ethereum Transponder Zeta) at coords 56.8, 38.6 (Ethereum Staging Grounds).
• A Protectorate Demolitionist will appear. You must protect the Demolitionist while the NPC continues through the Ethereum Staging Grounds.
• After you receive notification that the quest is complete, travel north to coords 56.8, 38.6.
• Turn in the quest to Image of Commander Ameer.

Here for transmog? Not if you are a Demon Hunter. Blizz gave this quest the class specific reward treatment, and Demon Hunters get nothing.

I had to abandon a few times before the dude would spawn, but once he did it was (boring) cake. As a hunter, I used ranged and pet to knock out everything well before he reached it. If only he walked faster and didn't stop to pose every ten feet....

If soloing this content: Make sure you hit the on in the back first and then the 2 sides. If you mount up, he de-aggros, disappears and forces you to wait for the respawn.

It kept not spawning for me even when abandoning and reaccepting 10's of times. What i did was just do every other quest in Manaforge, then i went back and it spawned for me first try.

Description

I'm sending one of my demolitionists out to place the disruption device. Just make sure no harm comes to him as he's placing the disruptor. Keep him protected! He will not fight back if enemies attack him, as he is only a holographic image, but the image can be destroyed! Return to me once the job is done.
