Yet another reason the horde should not be allowed anywhere near patch 10.2's content, but Blizzard has no idea what they're doing anymore with Dragonflight at this point.
I understand why Blizzard wants to let the Horde in, so a new zone isn't just given to the Alliance while they get nothing. However, I believe they're wrong.Bel'ameth should be Alliance only due to the atrocities of the Fourth War. It hasn't even been a decade since that war occurred. We also know Gilneas is being reclaimed by the Alliance which is wonderful, we've been waiting a long time for this. However, the Ruins of Lordaeron currently are Horde only still, as it should be.What Blizzard really should do to balance it a bit is re-introduce the Undercity with some updates, or even just update the Ruins of Lordaeron to be more of a functional city as well as update Bilgewater Harbour to be more of a functional city. While Bilgewater Harbour has been in the game since Cataclysm it should receive a proper update to go alongside the Alliance reclaiming Gilneas. Hell, if not Bilgewater, they should have updated the Undermine to not be just an instance, but to bring in that city as well for the Goblins. Perhaps more is coming, we still don't know what 10.2.6 and 10.2.7 will entail but since they're randomly doing Gilneas now, maybe we'll see more for the Horde too,
Once again, anything that doesn't involve completely deleting the Horde from the game files and reducing the rest of the Alliance to bumbling idiots that serve the Draenei and Nelfs results in said Draenei and Nelf players throwing a temper tantrum over anything.
This is a rather touching detail.
Alliance players: " Of course we forgive the Eredar for the untold numbers they have killed and countless races you made extinct or enslaved. We welcome them rejoining the draenei."Also alliance players: " YOU BURNT OUR TREE AND KILLED NIGH ELVES! YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGIVEN! STAY AWAY FROM OUR TREE THAT YOU HELPED PROTECT!"
And why those Wisps are not reburning?
It's really sad to see all these deaths, all these characters that we knew during the quests are now dead. Even if they are still there in the game, it has a small effect knowing that they are dead in the story.I also agree with the fact that Bel'ameth and Amidrassil (outside the dream) should not be neutral but reserved for the Alliance.Racial capitals must not allow the opposing faction to enter. It's about consistency and gameplay. When they bring Undercity back into play, it will surely be hostile to the Alliance as the Alliance heroes helped cleanse Lorderon of the plague (the area after the quests is hostile to the Alliance). Good for them if they get an updated Undercity.
Everyone's freaking out that there's Horde in the city.Could have sworn Horde helped make their new tree in the first place. Most especially the horde they actually do allow into the city which appears to be limited to Archdruid Runetotem and you, the player character, who spent the last 5-7 years doing things to make this happen.BTW why all the fuss about making a new world tree? I could have sworn that Night Elves already grew world trees without much issue in the past (Nordrassil, Teldrassil, Andrassil, Shaladrassil, Amirdrassil, The one in UnGoro Crater that was consumed by the Nightmare that has no name, and then there are also the lesser known world trees in Ashenvale, Crystalsong, Feralas, Duskwood and the Hinterlands)That means there are already 6 world trees and 5 great trees... and none of them required all this work to get them to grow. Arguably G'Hanir is also a world tree, which would bring the grand total to 12.
On Bel'ameth's neutrality, ever heard the saying "united we stand, divided we fall?" The faction war has been stupid from the get go in WoW as Alliance and Horde keep joining forces anyway to deal with a much bigger threat. Why would a big threat really need to fight anyone when they can just cause the Alliance and Horde to take each other out? That theme gets old fast leading into someone else for the Alliance and Horde to focus on and fight against. Every time Blizzard's tried to return to Alliance vs Horde, it always ends up with some big bad they unite against. The Alliance nor the Horde are inherently evil anyway. There's no reason for the constant forced fighting between them. Pigeon holing a few bad actors to start a war just makes it feel forced. Even in real life, there are many that prefer to stay out of conflicts started by a few bad apples above them. This is true on a government setting causing an all out war all the way down to a more localized setting within a business itself where people may not agree with management. The game is World of Warcraft, yes, but where does it say Alliance vs Horde? That's the basis of the original games, yes, but it's not in the title. Things can and do change. It's still war when they're fighting against the Scourge, against Deathwing and the Twilight Hammer, against the Sha, Mantid, Mogu, and Old Golds, and against the Legion. People want to play with their friends. Player factions ceased to matter a long time ago and are just arbitrary things players use to exclude others. It's a good thing to have more people to play with. Not everyone has a guild or friends to play with.Time heals all wounds, but also the bad actors shouldn't dictate how everyone else in that group is seen. I'm sure everyone remembers group punishment back in school. Why punish the group for the actions of one? People are also not seeing the big picture. You can't solve a puzzle with a single puzzle piece. Blizzard knows where the story is going. We do not. It's easy to be the critic, but not the artist. If you don't like it, perhaps write your own story and/or game. See how long you can keep a repetitive faction war going between two sides while keeping the two equally balanced and giving both sides of events. At some point, you're going to throw in the towel, too. It's exhausting. You either end up focusing on one side only or you end up dropping the conflict for something else. Here's a challenge for the complainers, write a fanfic starting from the expansion you dislike the most and rewrite it how you think things should have gone while being sure to include the faction war between Horde and Alliance. Only end the fanfic with the current expansion. You have to use the same line of events that already exist in game so you can't just arbitrarily change like a raid to include different bosses because you feel your idea works better. You can change the situation within an event such as the Shattered Sun Offensive retaking the Sunwell (was there violent bickering between the Blood Elves and Draenei or did they completely ignore that) or how the various mages treat each other in Dalaran, but you can't omit something like the burning of Teldrassil or Anduin getting nearly killed by Grommash and the Divine Bell. Effectively, you can recontextualize an event, but you can't remove it. You don't need to include every quest, zone, or dungeon's story. If you can maintain the faction war and not have it feel forced at any point, then maybe you have a point about Blizzard maintaining the Alliance and Horde divide. Maybe they didn't try hard enough then to maintain it, but I doubt anyone can rewrite an expansion (most likely several) while maintaining existing events. The biggest question would be how would you handle the Horde helping to save the new world tree only to be told "You suck," and kicked out once the new tree emerges into the world? That's like a construction team building a new grocery store for the community only to be told after the fact that they can't shop there because most of the team has a criminal record.
Good change from crispy to wisp.
Hopefully this mean the girl that was always sick in Astranar that we had to make soup for survived.
