Find them mostly in the Razorjaw River in Nazmir, east and south of the Heart of Darkness. If you find too many Great Sea Catfish schools clear them and Redtail Loach schools can spawn. They seem to share spawn areas.

On Zandalar, these can fished up in any freshwater areas. Schools of these will also appear in fresh water.

Great Sea Catfish and Redtail Loach seem to share pool spawn areas. When fishing in open water, these two tend to be caught in equal amounts.

Note about Nazmir: The marshes seem to be a mix of fresh and ocean water. Fresh water fish pools appear, but when fishing in open water, ocean fish are found. This applies to the areas from the Primal Wetlands, looping south of Zul'jan Ruins, the Shattered River, the Razorjaw River, and the Frogmarsh. It turns to pure ocean water/ocean pools where the two rivers meet.

The only open fresh water I've found in Nazmir was on Antul'Mita Plateau, the area west of the Primal Wetlands where the stream crosses a path to Vol'dun (22.0, 73.9 in Nazmir). Most of the other seemingly fresh water areas (Necropolis and blood troll villages) are too shallow to be fished from.

Don't be like me and run all over Nazmir, searching for a place to fish these. If you're ally, just fly to Scaletrader Post, then hop down to a circle pool at 70.35, 23.74. Note: stand on the rock in the middle so you're clear of King K'tal.

I have been able to fish about 50/50 Great Sea Catfish and Redtail Loach at Krag'wa's Burrow in Nazmir 75, 56. It is a secluded place with no enemies around to interrupt.

An OK spot for Alliance is Veiled Grotto, Zuldazar you have a flight point there if unlocked with Scouting Report: Veiled Grotto. Was able to catch almost 50/50 on Great Sea Catfish and Redtail Loach with some grey items and salmons in time to time, sadly there are no schools there in exchange horde won't pass nearby and you will be safe

I fished for this at The Tusk Pools in Zuldazar, 70, 24. Two hours of fishing here yielded 139 Redtail Loach (~42%), 178 Great Sea Catfish (~54%) and 12 Mignight Salmon (~3.6%).

Found easy fishing spot for horde right inside Dazar'alor. Beside Old T'zoko 52.95,29.48 Decided to just fish in the rushing waters of the fall there. was getting Great Catfish and Redtail Loach. Been fishing for 15mins and its even on 1 to 1 ratio on which you fish up.

The small pond on the way back from Kua'fon is a ok spot to go to. Almost 50/50 Catfish and Loach and the best of all is that there are no mobs for you to aggro.

Is there a reason none of the BFA fish have alliance locations? Do alliance need to fish in horde territory?

I found a nice place I like to fish for Redtail Loach for Horde.
Take the Port of Zandalar flight path and run all the way down the stairs. At the bottom, there is a small water fountain. (49.80, 92.68)
It's close to 50/50 redtail loach and catfish (I tend to get more redtail, not sure if its luck or not lol)

Location zul'nazman in Nazmir at 46.2,67.9. It's shown on the map above as the dot just to the southwest of the temple. 25 mins of fishing netted me 51 Redtail Loach, 49 Great Sea Catfish, 6 Midnight Salmon and 5 pieces of junk. There are 2 Nazmani Necromancers channelling into an orb in the middle of the pool, but you don't aggro them. I stood at the back of the pool, looking due north.

Best place I've found is indeed right off the flight path for Veiled Grotto.

Just stand by the waterfall next to the flight path and enjoy:

% value's are about 45%/45% RNG with about a 10% chance to get grey items.
This is farming from Non-pool's from my experience. I fish at Veiled Grotto in Zuldazar. In 30min of fishing i get roughly 66 - 77 of the great sea catfish, and redtail loach x 2 for a hour can be decent profit! Good luck fellow fisherman!

Tried Krag'wa's Burrow in Nazmir 75, 56; got Slimy Macks + Sand Shifters only. Gave up after 15 min. For Alliance: Can confirm Veiled Grotto is still the best fishing spot. Was moderately relaxed and not fully focused, got approx 2 GS Catfishes + 2 Redtail Loaches + 1 random item every min, worked out to be around 60+/- of each fish and a bunch of sellables in half an hour.

Not sure it if depends on hour, but I was kinda unlucky (around 8pm), no fishing pool of any kind

If you happen to be in Vol'dun as Horde, you can also get about a 50/50 catfish/loach droprate in the little pond right near the flightmaster at Tortaka Refuge. What GREAT SEA catfish are doing in a shallow puddle the size of a Winnebago is anyone's guess.

As Alliance, fished from the 2 pools in Dazar'alor /way 43.27, 42.68 . In 1 hour fished up:

5 U'taka - vendor for 50 gold each
123 Great Sea Catfish
12 Midnight Salmon
112 Redtail Loach
4 Grey Items

If you dont have BfA flying yet, just run as far as you can before the elite Horde guards down you, return and run the rest of the way. Make sure your War Mode is OFF.

Sweetspot - Zuldazar - /way 63, 33
100 Casts = 60 Redtail Loach & 40 Great Sea Catfish (60% Drop Rate)

You'll see a waterfall at this location. When facing the waterfall go onto the ledge on the left hand side and cast directly into the center of the waterfall (directly into the mist). The waypoint will take you directly above the ledge you need to stand on; from the waypoint you can walk forward a bit and drop down onto the bottom ledge to get to the casting spot (for those who don't have Pathfinder completed yet - otherwise just fly there). Zero enemies in this area so you can fish safely. Good luck & enjoy!
