I only started keeping track of these after I had cleared most of the list. I can't guarantee that these are the best places to find these pets, but I can share that this is where I found them.

I found a Cinderhoney Emberstinger at Cinderbrew Meadery in Isle of Dorn

I found a Vile Bloodtick at Twitching Gorge in Azj-Kahet
/way 47, 66.5 Vile Bloodtick

Found Umbral Amalgams at Rumshackle in Hallowfall
/way 61.5, 45.9 Umbral Amalgam

Found a Greenlands Chicken at Hillhelm Stead in Hallowfall, but I accidentally killed it. There don't seem to be a lot of them around

Found an Arathi Chicken at Beledar's Bounty in Hallowfall (posting a second coordinate where I found one as well)

I found the Voidling Ooze and the Shadowy Oozeline as backline pets in Azj-Kahet (one was a Chitin Burrower and the other was a Subterranean Dartswog)
I found the Greenlands Chicken as a backline pet in Hallowfall (Subterranean Dartswog)

I was awarded 2 pets when I got this achievement, Mister Muskoxeles (added to journal automatically) and Waxwick (pet was dropped in my bag to learn). Very odd, as Mister Muskoxeles is not searchable but says its been added to my journal.

Completed this last night. The two I struggled with the most were Cinderhoney Emberstinger on Isle of Dorn and Greenlands Chicken in Hallowfall.

/way Isle of Dorn 69.85, 41.12 Cinderhoney Emberstinger.

Note: Battled every pet in the area around the brewery and never found it as a backline pet. I also killed the non-battleable versions for a little while before finding a battleable one. It seems fairly rare (and possibly only comes in rare quality?)

/way Hallowfall 73.86 45.47 Greenlands Chicken (backline pet).

Note: According to my experience + Wowhead comments, it seems the Chicken has only been found backline (so far), and seem to be mostly in the area of the above coordinates. I have yet to see one frontline.

Bear in mind it’s still early days of the expansion, so my comment may become outdated quickly!

I found another one as a backline pet (not part of this achievement)- an Undermoth. Came up with a Azure Flickerfly, and it was rare.

The Oozelings (Shadowy and Voidling) are only visible in the Depth of Madness area east of Ahj-Kahet... if you are under the effect of the Unseeming Shift debuff. (low stack is enough. I was at 20 then they started to show up.)

Not included in this achievement are four capturable pets which appear to be zonewide backline only and always rare quality.

Isle of Dorn - Diamond Crab
The Ringing Deeps - Jade Cragviper
Hallowfall - Abyssal Lurker
Azj-Kahet - Undermoth

Hallowed Glowfly is also one missing / not needed for the achievement, found one randomly at The Hallowfall Gate in The Rising Deeps ( coords - 48 / 45 ) was a backline pet to a Fallowspark Glowfly whilst hunting for a Jade Cragviper HOWEVER unless it is a bug, pun not intended but when opportunity knocks it would be rude not to answer :P this pet doesn't seem catchable even though it is also listed under the pet tab. EDIT appears that i came across another pet not on the list / needed - Pinkskin Burrower found as a frontline pet also in The Rising Deeps

I just did a battle for , got that seldom back-ground pet (Greenlands Chicken) - and half way through I got attacked by a mob and forced out of pet-combat. :-(
Hasn't happened to me since Mist. Now I clear nearby mobs first.

Almost done with the achievement and so far all the battles work on the normal capture team:

- Corgnelius - 1/1/1 (Blazing Yip / Superbark / Puppy Parade)
- Two of Zandalari Anklerender - 2/1/2 (Hunting Party / Leap / Black Claw)

If the desired pet is the first one, start with Corgnelius, use Blazing Yip 1-2 times, then Superbark, then capture. Use the other pets to clean up, using the standard Black Claw and Hunting Party rotation. If the desired pet is the second or third, start with one of the Zandalari Anklerenders and then use strategy above.

Important hint: keep some place in your inventory, if you have a full one like me while achieving this, you won't get Waxwix currently at all, neither the postmaster nor the gamemasters will help with that and since this is an accountwide achievement, you can't retry that sadly.
We'll have to wait for a fix for that, but since this is an unknown issue to blizzard, we'll need some more in-game bug reportings I guess.

hello im completet " safari Khaz Algar" at 25/08 but dont receide this compagnon submit bug many time and tiket but at today dont have him...

Regarding the Arathi Chicken...Sometimes I really hate Blizzard. I have spent a while searching for this one, even as a secondary pet. I FINALLY found it as a primary pet in the Hillhelm Family Farm area and it was near a 8mil health Harvester. The Harvester aggroed so I tried to pull it away from the Arathi Chicken but a NPC from another quest kept attacking it right on top of the chicken and the chicken died! Point of the story, it can be found as a primary and not just a secondary. Just be mindful of your surroundings and quests.

with the new patch, it seems they removed the Umbral Amalgam requirement for this achievement. It now shows completed on my account without catching the Umbral Amalgam, but I did not receive the pet for the achievement :(

Edit: I got it with the Plunderstorm patch :)

Strangely, according to this Hotfix, it should have been fixed already but I still haven't got the pet (was missing the Umbral Amalgam, it was removed, Achievement completed).

I'm not a pet expert by any means, but commenting to add that I completed this achievement today in full with a team consisting of:

Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (for more than half I'd say I only needed this pet to deal with all 3)
Azure Crystalspine
Battie

I didn't curate the team- it's whatever was there from last time I was pottering around with pets but it worked out okay :)

(edit to add that I had no issues getting the pet reward in my bags)

Behold ! As of Yesterday's weekly reset it was fixed and pushed into people's collection if you were amongst those who hadn't received their pet after retro-actively completing the achievement.

The pet Snuffling is currently bugged and able to be purchased on the Auction House. However, buying it will NOT fulfill the criteria for catching one yourself.
