This quest is part of the Warrior Campaign of Legion.

You will get this quest after completing the stage with the quest Preparing For War

To complete the quest objectives you have to fight your way through a scenario in Ulduar and complete 3 major fights.

I died several times in beta because of the lack of healing, the sometimes overtuned numbers and my character having aggro of everything most of the time. Although this wasn't a big issue with quest progression. You spawn at the entrance and can continue where you died, the important NPCs lose health extremly slowly (not sure if they can die at all). Doing nothing and letting your npcs tank, can help. Unfortunately they do not generate much threat. It's probably easiest to do this as a tank, I did it as fury with ilvl 817.

Bring some time, it took me about 45min to finish.

After giving in the quest at Odyn, Thorim and Dvalen Ironrune will appear at the entrance to his hall and become your champions.

Edit: I did this as Prot on the live servers. This was way easier than Fury and went pretty smoothly without dying. Take Shockwave + Impeding Victory for survivability and Ultimatum + Vengeance for damage.

Did the quest as tank. Took me one hour and ten minutes to complete. Managed to complete it without dying once but I feel that was more luck than skill. I don't want to think back to all the close calls with 5% hp left and cd on Impending Victory. The mobs have way to much hp for a solo scenario with one boss having 55 million hp. That fight alone took several minutes. My gearlevel was 812 when doing the quest. The two followers add a bit of dps during the scenarion. My overall dps including follower dps during the scenario was 171,000 and the followers did roughly 35% of all that damage (I got Ragnvald Drakevold and Finna Bjornsdottir as my followers during the quest)

What bothered me the most was during the scenario is the inability to pull small groups that are spread out. If there are three groups of mobs with a bit of distance in between and you try to pull only one of them and move back, the others will join after 5-15 seconds even if you are far away from them causing much frustration.

Not having the extreme survivability of prot-warriors I would imagine this to be a struggle for anyone doing it as arms or fury.

I had these problems as well. There was multiple people there activating the quest as well, I could hear oydns lines even when I didn't start the conversation. I Kept abandoning it and restarting until I noticed I was by myself in the phase, then I talked to odyn, he stood up and Hymdall blew the horn, and I got credit so I could progress.

So having read comments, this has been seriously nerfed from the Beta which is good since even as an 832 prot, I had some touch and go moments. Took me about 30 minutes with no deaths.

Note: This quest is obtained by completing the garrison mission to this point. It follows the completion of three missions (follower missions) and defeat of Helya (any difficulty) being handed in. It can be completed at any ilevel so long as you have completed the previous quests.

For the first part, I believe you simply have to sit around and wait since you can't actually communicate (speach bubble) with Hymdall. Mine completed either through this, or someone else doing the same quest. You then go and talk to your Val'kyr.

After talking to your transport master Val'kyr, you find yourself in Inner Ulduar where you fight your way to the centre, then to Hodir's room and then Thorim's room. You will face a total of 3 'bosses' here, all of which hit very hard. I would recommend any fury/arms warrior to complete their prot artifact quest, get some heroic dungeon relics and then give this a go if you want to play safe.

I recommend liberal use of AoE abilities including Ravager, to enable more Impending Victory from AoE killing blows. Your self heal and absorb from Ignore Pain will be imperative to completing this in one try. Also, before facing the first boss and after defeating the second (Hodir's room), you aren't following anyone so you have plenty of time to eat or afk.

Protip - Don't try kiting with thunderclap while your adds kill the mobs. Ignoring the fact that thunderclap doesn't work on the three bosses, they do truely awful damage and you don't want to be there until the day you die.

After completing the quest you speak to Thorim who ends the scenario, sending you back to his father: Odin. Odin will give you two quests:

- Get 30 demonic runes (any demon according to quest text. I intend to find out soon)
- Complete 30 world quests (considerably nerfed from the 100 on the beta)

You will also find Thorim and Dvalen Ironrune in your Order Hall right behind you with exclaimation marks, signifying they have a quest for you. Suprise - you get them both as followers immediately after completing this scenario quest, before even doing the demonic runes and world quests. Put them to work to find you some artifact power.

I had to complete both Preparing For War and Maw of Souls: Message to Helya before I could obtain this quest. I was already 110 and had completed Stormheim. You can also pick up and do Maw of Souls: Piercing the Mists at the same time if you're 110.

This is the single worst quest I've experienced in WoW. I'm an arms warrior with 823 gear, and this should be easily completed by any warrior, in my opinion. (But it's not.) I died OVER ten times while doing this (not even exaggerating) and EVERY single time you die, you have to run ALL the way back through the dungeon to find where you last left off. Your helper people often glitch out, and even when they don't, they aren't really "helping" you at all. They're just there for show because they don't do any damage. It also takes AGES to kill anything in here, and you ALWAYS end up pulling massive groups of enemies, no matter how careful you are to pull only a few. This was an infuriating experience, and I'm surprised it even made it past beta in this state. I have no idea how the devs thought this was in an okay and playable state. Needs SERIOUS work.

This is a buggy quest as of three days after expansion launch. Thorim shows up right after quest accept and if you don't get the next step just wait till Hymdall blows the horn and eventually it will complete. As for Ulduar itself I tried it first as arms, it was extremely difficult and eventually the spider queen bugged out because I had to kite her or die from the melee damage. She died outside the room she spawns in and the door to the next part of the gauntlet would not open. The second time I just put on my sword and board artifact which has 1 point in it and 750 ilvl and tanked and it was a breeze. I cannot stress enough that you will probably have your prot artifact by the time you do this, so whack that baby on and set up your prot keybinds and you will save yourself alot of grief. Got two followers, my class set bracers and 1000 artifact points upon completion.

Sorry to say, but this quest is god awful.

So badly designed. Great idea on paper, but it's far too overtuned, you die a hell of a lot of time even if you're trying really hard to avoid it.
I died 8 times before I was done. Wouldn't mind dying if you didn't have to spend 3 minutes running back everytime.

Not fun. A real shame.

Adding my experiences as well - 806 Arms Warrior, switched to Prot for certain sections. It's a lengthy, moderately annoying scenario. You can go DPS for most of it, as you'll receive light heals and can rely on Second Wind kiting when needed.

Right before you break down the ice wall, and right before you go through the gauntlet, I recommend switching to Prot. Use Ignore Pain often, along with the Artifact ability / Shockwave / Impending Victory.

The final boss can be kited a bit, though not always. I was able to one shot her as Arms.

I highly recommend bringing all your Artifacts, along with Fighter's Chow. Also, repair fully before starting.

Started this quest today and got stuck on stage 2. The dwarf that I'm supposed to follow just stopped in the hall (between 2 green fire walls) and doesn't move. I decided to proceed on my own and died. Respawned, ran back to him and found the dialogue option "Let's move!", but still nothing happens. Decided to log out and back in. The dialogue option disappeared... nothing happens.

By the way, I'm doing this with 800 ilvl. Took me ages to get past stage 1.

Far and away the worst quest I've run into in a long time. Just utter crap. The mobs have WAY too much health. Nothing epic about fighting a mob for 10 minutes, doing 3 corpse runs in between.

It's a tough quest but very doable with proper mob management and pulls.

Tips as an Arms warrior:

Do not AoE mobs unless you know you can kill them all quickly via Battle Cry + Avatar > Warbreaker > Bladestorm. Quickly victory rush when they die targeting the weaker mobs to chain victory rushes.

Let your companions tank for you when possible if you know you cannot possibly AoE them all down. Focus on single target DPS to avoid aggro.

Kill the summoner guy first and ignore his adds (you'll know when you see him)

Take Stormbolt for single target to help you live against stronger mobs. You don't want shockwave as it will aggro all mobs to you. Shockwaving the weak minions is redundant as you can AoE them down anyway.

Take Second Wind it will save you some time in between pulls.

How do you open the doors before Hodir?

The chains aren't clickable for me, there's no extra action buttons or anything to interact with. I'm totally lost, bugged?

Tried reloading, don't really fancy sitting through the 15 minute snoozefest again.

Edit: Just played it through as Prot instead, took about 25 mins for the whole thing. Didn't encounter the issue again, the dwarf must've despawned or died in the previous attempt.

When you do this quest, you have the impression to be doing something wrong, because this is an awfully developed quest. I enjoy a challenge, but this is plain and simple a bad quest. You have 2 followers that "help" you. They actually don't.

I did this as fury warrior, and my tips for you are:

1.- You will aggro everything even if you are careful.
2.- Go in, aggro all, use all cds, save fury, and use Piercing Howl to kite the mobs. Eventually your followers will aggro them and you will get some healing when you are low health.
3.- Then try to kill them when you have all cds up, after that, kite again.

All this is fine, I even laughed because all classes talk wonders about their class quests, but warriors we must suffer to fuel our rage. Seems fine by me.

The really infuriating thing is when you get to the final stage, the quest BUGGES OUT when you kill the "Spider Queen". Beware of this. You need to kill her inside the spawn room.

I had to abandon the quest and do this all over again.

Warrior suffering. Same as always. 10/10 for developers.

First and foremost: DON'T AOE EVERYTHING. This is the fastest, and as far i could tell, the only way to ensure you will die.
I did this at 806 as Fury and from what I can tell you can't really die unless you go about it the way we, as warriors, have learned to go about doing these types of things: pop cd's and aoe everything.

The reality is you will be in the red screen portion of your health for much of the fights but if you focus the main mobs and use single target strategy, the adds like the molten ravagers (Hodir fight) arent going to kill you. Even the Imps can be ignored. If they aren't killed by the NPC's after you killed the big guys, then you can aoe them down.
Once I realized this I literally just stood still and attacked the main mob.
It feels like you're going to die the whole time but you magically stay alive. You're going to want to panic the first time your health gets low; don't panic.
That being said it's a really good scenario for practicing mitigation and survival techniques.

This quest was just horrible. Doing it about a week after launch as a 809 ilvl prot warrior, this was sluggy, buggy and really snooze-inducing. Mobs had way too much health and for awhile I thought I was bugged. I could not interact with the chains in front of Hodir's door no matter what I did (reload, relog, abandon quest, etc). Thought for sure it was bugged but it turned out I just needed to backtrack and kill a single dumbass mob that was still alive a few rooms behind me, so that was very annoying. The quest should not have told me I needed to rip down the door if I still had mobs I needed to kill BEFORE I COULD RIP THE DOOR DOWN.

Only redeeming thing about the sleep inducing mess was that I got to spend a lot of time with my bbgurl Finna.

Horribly balanced. I feel like there's supposed to be a combat buff like in other scenarios, but it's missing.

As fury, a tip is to spam piercing howl and kite enemies around while you get healed by your companions. If you just try to facetank 10+ mobs you will die... a lot.

Against the spiders in the Thorim gauntlet, avoid AOEing and do pure single target. The tiny amount of threat generated by the companions will let you take them out slowly 1 by 1... if you hit whirlwind even once, all of them will be on you.

Just completed this as a 791 Arms Warrior without dying once; took about 30 minutes in total. Here are my notes from it, may they help others:

The quest started with an awkward pause after Odyn said he'd be sending us to Ulduar to help, quest objective stuck on "Listen to Thorim's response" with no action. Simply waiting around next to Odyn and Hymdall for a few minutes eventually completed it, allowing you to talk to Aerylia to port to Ulduar.

Second Wind is required. No ifs, ands or buts about it. I had Double Time while completing the scenario, but in retrospect Shockwave would've been entirely superior.

You will want to abuse the ever-living-life out of both Second Wind and Victory Rush.

Finna Bjornsdottir and Ragnvald Drakeborn will be with you. Finna Bjornsdottir is the important one, as she brings a heal Invigorating Shout that seems to consistently proc when you drop below 40% health. I was not able to discern if it would proc again without you going back above 40% health.
The helpful NPCs in this scenario don't hold threat. Use them as a distraction, especially letting Dvalen Ironrune run ahead and aggro mobs for you. Just know that the slightest breath from you will pull aggro to yourself and then you'll have that mob until it dies.

Addendum: Dvalen's body-pulling is unreliable. Stay well back from him as he runs ahead so you can see which mobs are actually going to get pulled by him. This well help you avoid pulling too many mobs and dying from it.

You'll find the first demon boss, Lieutenant Gom'tok, after Kologarn's bridge fighting with Dvalen Ironrune: He hits like a truck but moves very slow. There are no enemies on the stairs. Use his slow movement and slow abilities as a chance to run away (use Heroic Leap!) and let Second Wind heal you up. Do damage in between. Rinse and repeat and eventually he'll die.
To open Hodir's door, click the piles of chains lying in the snow. It isn't immediately apparent with the NPCs standing on top.
The feldogs (Blazing Ravager) on Hodir's stage with Felwarden Elreth will spawn throughout the fight, as Felwarden Elreth summons them with a non-interruptable cast, Unleash the Hounds. This is fine, as they are your source of Victory Rush procs. Try to avoid having too many attacking you at once as they have a nasty DoT (Molten Bite).

This is the first stage where I absolutely had to use Die by the Sword to survive.
Remember to alternate your damage between the dogs and the boss, otherwise you'll be here forever.

One of the trash pulls between Hodir's room and the icy hallway was the closest I ever got to dying, about 1-2% health, even with Die by the Sword and Rallying Cry, until Finna healed me. Be careful here.
You'll get to a portal room where Hodir and Thorim will chit-chat. Hodir mentioned that the demon's just keep coming. This is true: After the imps in the room are dead, don't bother killing anything else. Just head left and through the small doorway to the start the gauntlet.

Packs of Felbite Broodling will drop from the ceiling in in this gauntlet. They aren't too bad. Just remember to progress forward as each pack spawns and drops. I believe they spawn based on triggers, so if you move back and then run forward after killing a pack, it just spawns the same pack again (didn't confirm this though, its just my suspicion).
The room with the eggs will spawn another boss, Brood Queen Morvaniss who you will kill along with more spiders. This is the second closest I got to dying, but again Finna's heals and Victory Rush saved the day.

Next (and last) is Lady Ran'zara, who you find fighting Thorim at the balcony. Treat her rather like the boss at Kologarn's bridge by running away / using Heroic Leap to let Second Wind heal you up.

Do not interrupt her Rain of Fire - Use it to gain distance from her and just avoid it's damage to proc Second Wind.
Do interrupt her Drain Life, for obvious reasons.
At ~30% health, Lady Ran'zara will run away and jump off the balcony to escape. Follow her to the balcony to see what happens, and then you're done! You can then talk to Thorim to return to Skyhold and complete the quest.

All told, this scenario needs some work. I actually found it engaging, but only because I read this Wowhead page first and so went into knowing and expecting terribleness. Hopefully your attempt goes better!

Okay, so I'm a 795 Fury warrior (level 110) currently doing this quest. It's good to be back in Ulduar and all that, but it's horribly difficult and that's probably one the worst quest I've experienced in WoW. As I'm typing, I'm waiting for my two followers and Hodir to kill Felwarden Elreth. If I try to go near him, I'm getting insta-killed by dogs & stuff.

Hope this nightmare will end soon ! I guess doing this quest while being Prot or Arms is easier, do that if you can !

Do it as prot, I died a few times and noticed the champions won't tank anything. I picked up all the mobs and they cleaved a lot of stuff down for me.

Seriously go with prot for this one, or this quest will seem a whole lot longer than you like.

FINALLY COMPLETED IT. I did a couple of heroics beforehand because I was taking way too much damage. Got my ilevel to 819. There are about 7 stages (including the final stage). Took me about an hour, pulled everything I could in the hallways and what not and just popped everything. Seemed to work fine. I died once, on the first boss. The 30 second heroic leap cooldown was aggravating as you could not get past barriers without hopping over them like a bunny. Kind of ridiculous. Hearing everyone's comments, and how much damage you take as warrior DPS (arms/fury), I would suggest to do this in prot spec. You get the damage mitigation and all you lose out of it is the speed you kill them. The more you pull the better off you are, as you can shockwave, thunderclap, use your neltharion's fury (artifact special ability), avatar, battle cry, demoralizing shout all at once. All of these abilities on cooldown. Rinse and repeat. For single target dps, make sure you are using focused rage with the shield slam. Does a lot more DPS. Anyways, good luck everyone! If you want to stick with the dps spec, choose arms as fury you don't really have any damage mitigation spells or victory rush to regain health like you do in arms/prot.

Started this more than an hour ago as a fury warrior, 110/806.

It's been tough, died a few times, and used up a ton of buffs.

Now I'm at stage 6, after where it said to take the north tunnel to meet Thorim, I've killed all the spiders and what not, except one felbite egg that is not attackable, and now I'm confronted by a door I cannot get through.

Very frustrating!

Any suggestions please?

UPDATE: Abandoned the quest and picked it up again. This time, I discovered that the problem was that 'Brood Queen Morvaniss' did not appear the first time round. After killing all those spiders, before the door opens to proceed, you need to kill 'Brood Queen Morvaniss', which of course you can't do if she's not there. Definitely a bug of some sort, but worked out ok on the second try.

I experienced some issues getting past the "Hear Thorim's response" part. It's a little buggy as of 9/10/16. However, simply wait long enough and you'll get the completion you need. Took about 2 minutes for me. I guess someone else needed to trigger it.

I died once as a Fury warrior. You DO get healed whenever you dip below 35% hp or so, back to 50% but you'll need to be careful. Just be smart about your AoE and make liberal use of Enraged Regeneration and you should be fine!

Overall, loved the story, couple of bugs - but worth it :)

Completed it almost without trouble as iLevel 808 Arms Warrior. Died only once at the end of Spider Gauntlet due to being hasty with AoE. On second try, I focused on the elite and ignored the adds, leaving them to followers. Interrupted the web spell it cast, wasn't much trouble.
I recommend Second Wind as you can Hamstring and run away for about 10 seconds to get to full health. (Applicable in almost any Elite/Rare if you are careful. Managed to kill most if not all 15.6M hp elites solo as iLevel ~790.)

Got through there in about 35 Minutes as a ilvl 812 Fury-Warrior. I only died once in the spider room. It really isn't that hard, just get a few bandages and some buff food. Just don't forget to use Enraged Regeneration, Commanding Shout and Pummel! Take time to regenerate and try to pull one mob/pack at a time.

- Run right trough the first boss if he casts an attack and he will be easy.

- For the second boss try to focus on single targeting him, so you don't aggro all the hellhounds at once.

- The spider room is quite hard, they will fall of the ceiling as you run through. Wait for you cooldowns to be ready between packs. The third boss is also fairly easy. Interrupt her web-spell and run away if she cast chaos nova.

Interrupt the rain of hellfire thing on the fourth boss and thats it.

Prot warriors shouldn't have any difficulty with this. I don't know if it's been nerfed or if people just don't know all their abilities, but as long as you know how to do your aoe rotation, how to appropriately use active mitigation, how to deal with basic fight mechanics, and make good use of victory rush, you should have no problems with this scenario.

I truly enjoyed this quest. It reminded me of Vanila, when solo quests with superior or epic quality rewards were actually a challenge. Here's a quest that gets you a lvl 810 item, 1000 artifact power, 1500 order resources! It better be hard!

I did it in Prot and I believe they wanted a warrior to be Prot when doing it because I can't see how you could complete this without truly suffering in Arms or Fury. It was a challenge even in Prot (did not die, Ignore Pain FTW!).

As of 10/14/16, it was fun as arms (maybe they decreased the mobs' health). Did die in the second spider room. Not sure how one can survive them, but I had used whirlwind in the first room so it wasn't available. They seem to put in lots of low-health mobs so you can heal yourself up frequently. But before you feel macho for surviving, realize you're also receiving healing, aoe, and maybe a little tanking from your helpers.

Out of the characters I've played this expansion, all 4 have been melee, this was the toughest of the quests/tasks I've seen. I saw one death during it, but if you manage your cooldowns and realize that you may need them again soon, you'll be fine. Meaning, don't go nuts trying to get it done fast. Many of the walkthroughs above are right.

Arms warrior, ilvl 805.

Just FYI: If you have no idea how interrupts work, and can't bind them, you will have a horrible time in this scenario. It's a test of your ability to use the majority of your toolset. I applaud Blizz and hope they keep it this level.

It is a quest designed for a protection warrior.

Don't try it in arms or fury unless you want your inner rage to take complete hold of you. Only if you do it in protection spec, your followers will properly assist you. They will do much more damage and will cast whirlwinds and what not. But even in protection mode the quest experience is mediocre at best.

Utterly tedious quest. UTTERLY. No skill expected, just endless AoE of packs of adds. Further evidence that Blizz have lost any desire to create interesting content - just recycle old raids with mots of trash for players to waste time on.

Yeah so this sucked. The scenario constantly dumps like 15 guys on top of you. When I wasn't running through the ENTIRE scenario multiple times due to many cheap deaths, my eyes were glazing over fighting horde after horde of mobs with way too much health.

Multiple people at blizzard had to have played this scenario multiple times and thought it sucked, wasn't fun, and stretched on WAY too long. And yet here it is, in the final game. Garbage.

Completed as Prot Warrior, 777 iLvL in 14 minutes -> 0 deaths.
Must HAVE(s) Talents: Shockwave, Impending Victory, Ravager.
Had also Talents: Best Served Cold, Bounding Stride, Devastator, Into the Fray.

Must HAVE food: Fighter Chow.

Strategy: Go slow pulling ads, use Impending Victory as soon as it procs, save Ravager & Shockwave for larger packs of ads.

Only issue I had was with the first mini-boss at the end of stage 1.

Completed as 788 Fury warrior with no deaths. Pretty much just spammed WW for any pack bigger than 4. The NPC's were able to keep me alive with no issues.

Guys, I noticed a lot of you are frustrated with how easily you can die in this scenario, but not to worry, I know a solution that can easily get you through it without much difficulty!

First off, do not charge in guns ablazin' and try and nuke everything down like I did as a Fury warrior with my Odyn's Fury combo, you will get overrun and you WILL die. Only burst down your enemies when you know you can take them out in one combo and possibly one or two AoE attacks when they are all at low health. Let your guardians take all threat, and only dispense auto-attack and single target abilities on a single enemy at a time. Slowly, one by one, they will all fall! It might take a bit longer but you have to take your time and be patient.

Know your placement amongst packs of mobs and be wary of their abilities, as you don't want to take too much AoE from any of them, don't want to pull any unnecessary amounts of mobs at a time and be sure to use your crowd control on targets (particularly your pummel against boss abilities that are interruptible and can deal significant damage to you when allowed to cast), as well as use the abilities of your allies to either pull aggro from mobs as they attack naturally or mass CC packs with proper positioning (like a Frost Giant's frost breath ability during the Hodir encounter which will temporarily freeze stun mobs whenever cast).

Above all else, keep a cool head with this, pop survival and defensive cooldowns when you know your getting too low and allow your allies to take as much aggro as you need, savor these fights and learn to control your aggro, like how we did back in the old days.

If you remember these steps, you should have a good time surviving this encounter and enjoying the lore bits that follow through. I was able to do this on my Fury Warrior with 841 ilvl gear and only died twice, once when I just went in for the first time not knowing the encounter, and the second time during the spider encounter when I overestimated my combo when I thought too many spiders were on me and I needed to burst them down. With a cooler head, when they aggroed me the second time, I just kept chill, attacked one at a time, and let my guardians AoE the aggro off of me as I kept myself healthy.

Absolutely entirely overtuned. Way too difficult for a newly dinged 110.

Expect to tank everything- and i mean EVERYTHING- because none of your cohorts can tank. Every bloodthirst you do will get you aggro so bring a stack of non-stat food. I managed to bug out the elite fighting the dwarf by pulling him onto the ... er... body bridge, which made fighting him a lot easier. For extra spidery fun, if you run out of certain areas of mobs, they will respawn, leading you to tank again and need to eat again. Try to leap away at times to get those precious seconds off c/d on bloodthirst- you are gonna need it.

Then put in a suggestion ticket that blizz make this quest a little less painful. I didnt die thankfully- and amazingly- but I hovered around 30% a lot of time. Very un-enjoyable quest.

As already mentioned by others, this was extremely tedious and difficult for a Fury warrior. I ended up eating after every mob/group of mobs, exhausted my bandages and had to stand around and wait for cooldowns to come back up. What I finally did was just do a Heroic Throw at a mob to prod my companions to move in and start fighting. I let them get nicely involved, then moved in with single target attacks. Also did a ton of running around avoiding AoE.

Some in the comments below mentioned getting healing from the companions. I never noticed receiving heals from them, but since I was taking so much damage, it probably didn't even register to me before that health was gone again. Most of the scenario was spent with my flailing around at < 20-30% health and spamming my interrupt when I could.

So far of all the classes, this scenario had me absolutely frustrated and already tired of it halfway through. No sense of 'I did it!' Just a feeling of 'Thank goodness that's over.'

I completed this quest and left before Thorim finished talking, which was apparently really rude and bad because now the #$%#^% quest won't end. I even dropped it, when back in, though everything was still dead, and tried to talk to him again. All he did is teleport me out. Now I'm standing in Skyhold by the Valkyrie and the quest still won't end. No Thorim, no Heimdall, Odin has nothing else to say.

Anyone have any great ideas?

At level 120 I decided I wanted to go back and get my new Mag'Har warrior her class mount. I had to leave and re-enter the scenario at least 3 times due to various glitches. Do NOT rush ahead of Dvalin at any point if you can avoid it - he'll glitch out behind one of the walls you're supposed to leap and if he does it in such a way that forces you to backtrack, you won't be able to leap the opposite way back through the wall. Hodir will also bug out if you speak to him too quickly and will not break down the ice wall, but Dvalin will go through it anyway and then you can't. Just take your time, go slow.

Here's how I fixed the bug (worked for me; hopefully for you too)
1. Abandon your bugged quest.
2. Use your Dalaran Hearthstone
3. Exit game
4. Re-open WoW, login back to your warrior
5. Go back to your class hall
6. Re-accept quest from Odyn
7. Sit there until the quest updates to "Speak to Aerylia to go to Ulduar" (should only take 10 seconds)
8. Continue on with your thing.

Just cleared this in Aug 2020. Which is tail end of BFA. Most comments are from during Legion. So I figured I'd update with what I saw. Though it'll be changing shortly with the stat squish in Shadowlands.

I cleared the quest in one shot at lvl 110 with ilvl 173 as Arms. I almost died multiple times though and took over 60% of my HP in damage every pull. I didn't look up this wowhead page ahead of time and assumed I was supposed to charge in the middle of the giant packs of mobs. Bladestorm did most of the work.

The pulls and mobs hit harder then most solo content I've seen so far. As I do not have BFA that's quite a bit of content at 110.

Doing the quest during Dragonflight. When you're asked to pull Hodir's door open, I cancelled the chain cast that slows you down. The chain become untargetable if this happens. The only fix I was able to come up with was abandoning your quest and resetting instances. Ulduar reset for me, so I was able to complete the scenario.

In Legion Remix, if you can't get past the part about "Listen to Thorim's Response", I was finally able to complete it by switching to Heroic World Tier. If Hymdall doesn't yell out, the quest is still bugged. If he does, it should complete this step and then you can go talk to Aerylia.

Kind of a niche issue but I got softlocked when I was at the part where I had to kill 4 demon's and I killed them by using Fel Spike. For some reason if you kill an enemy with fel spike, without you tagging them with any other ability, it won't count as killing them. This basically softlocked me since I was stuck at 2/4 demon's killed. What I did after was reset ulduar and just redo the quest.

In my scenario, Hodir didn't smash the ice wall to leave the Halls of Winter, but I was able to just run the long way back the way I came to continue.

If you're stuck with Stage 3 (opening the door with the chain):
1. Abandon quest
2. Reset all instances
3. Start the quest again

When pulling the chain - don't be in combat and don't use any abilities.

Description

The Gjallarhorn comes from a time before our falling out, however. A time of an ancient oath of honor.
