I'm an inscriptor/herbalist and I find that this herb is much easier to get your pigments from, since it's not farmed that much .
So that's my tip for everyone, if you need your pigments for inks, go farm goldclover! :D

I can't believe no ones said anything about how nice they are to level on, i hate outland, even though i have epic flying i would still rather level my herbalism to 350 in felwood, and then go to northrend, to get goldclover, also these are really good for inscription as noted before me, because they are inexpensive and proc good amounts of pigments.

its better to farm this in howling fjord, in Borean it was a pain in the ass!

I've also been getting them from the frozen herbs in Wintergrasp. As a head's up, though you don't get as much of everything as you can other places, you can get ALL herbs in Wintergrasp as well as it's a great place to farm elemental crystals such as earth, fire, water, air, shadow and life (life comes from the herbs you pick the rest from the wandering mobs). I have found if you're an alchemist and are already maxed out to 450 this is a great place to farm mats and $$ ^-^ If you're looking for specific herbs though, I personally fly between Grizzley Hills and Howling Fjord for my Goldclover. :)

I personally found Howling Fjord extremely uncomfortable to gather in. The nodes were very far apart.

In one loop of HF, I gathered:

44 Goldclover
12 Deadnettle
21 Crystallized Life
9 Tiger Lily

The northern section of the zone had a lot of nodes, as seen on the map, but in the southern section, I did a lot of flying in between.

EDIT: In one loop of the western half of Sholazar, I gathered:

26 Goldclover
3 Deadnettle
2 Frost Lotus
8 Tiger Lily
34 Adder's Tongue
14 Crystallized Life

I frequently had 2-3 nodes on my screen at one time. Make of the comparison what you will.

For whatever its worth it, there is now a level req to pick this. Not sure if this has always been this way or what, but you have to be level 65 now. I wanted to see how much exp I would get for picking it at level 55 after I trained Grand Master herbing, seeing as how I was getting nearly 1k per appropriate level herb in Blasted Lands.

Needless to say, I was disappointed.

It seems now that Sholazar Basin and Howling Fjord are fairly evenly matched when it comes to farming goldclover. The thing is that if you need ONLY goldclover (for whatever reason), Howling Fjord would be better suited.

Through one loop of HF I got 35 goldclover, through SB I got 33. I also got 33 Tiger Lily and 79 Adder's Tongue from SB.

There are so many other nodes in SB (Tiger Lily and Adder's Tongue) that HF may be the better choice if you need goldclover only. Makes it much easier to farm when you know that any node you see on the map will be goldclover, instead of having to mouse over every node to check and see if it's the one you need.

The most i found close to one another, plus a tiger lilly, were 2, above the Giants' Run just below the lake. So scarce I wouldn't recommend it. I crossed the whole area zig zag etc 2 times and found it like 7 times x2, not worth my time at all.

I found that Grizzly Hills has the highest ratio of Goldclover to any other herb. Especially on the coastal flats area, there really isn't anything spawning but Goldclover.

Using the map at the top, I went ahead and created text coordinates of the eastern half of the map for people who, like me, have problems following vague route guides lol. I use the Paste & TomTom add-ons so I can just insert the whole block of text instead of making a dozen macros.

Success rate with this wasn't great, but it was very easy to fly over the dots and then see if my herb tracker showed a herb there. More often than not, there were no herbs, but it was still a very quick route.

Reminder: I only did the eastern half of the map (to the right of the river), so this is an incomplete list.

Update - Grizzly Hills still a good place to farm Goldclover. My starting point was Cillimere Coast (Grizzly Hills) made a full circuit. Here are my results:

56 Goldclover
25 Deadnettle
12 Tiger Lily
19 Crystallized Life

It took a old fart like me 50 min. If you dont have anybody else farming at the time.

Zul'drak also has goldclovers. I found a couple there. You have about a 15 percent chance to find one in the non frozen area. It will not be labeled as goldclover when looting it. It will be labeled as Talandra's Rose and it will be added to the loot. The best looting spot for one is from Altar of Sseratus down to The Argent Stand I think. I found that a variation of herbs can be found in that area as well. This includes Deadnettle and Crystallized Life. Deadnettle will be about a 20 percent chance of finding and Crystallized life will be about a 10 percent chance. These are estimated percentages and can vary greatly.
