Mavis Harms is a new rare spawn added in patch 5.1 to Krasarang Wilds in the new daily and PvP areas. She is only attackable by Horde, but there are equivalent NPCs available to Alliance. She currently spawns by the northernmost dock in the pier of Lion's Landing. Mavis hits hard and fast for a world mob and has several lethal abilities. Bringing friends is advised although she is possible to kill solo.

In addition to a strong auto-attack Mavis has several hard-hitting abilities designed to prevent kiting.

Mortal Throw is a strong ranged attack that Mavis will perform when you are further than 15 yards away. It deals 60% of your max (not current) health, but is mitigated by % damage reducing effects like Moonkin Form or Defensive stance. Past about 25 yards you can out range this attack, but she will attempt to use it upon entering range which can be risky for kiting because she moves faster than player runspeed.

Shank is a 1.5 second cast followed by a 3 second stun. This attack is only used in melee range, and it is possible to avoid it entirely by essentially stutter stepping further out of melee range each time Mavis attempts to use it. As soon as she gets back into melee range Mavis will attempt to use it again and you can step out of melee range again. Getting caught in a stun is not deadly but it does cause you to take some damage, and repeatedly getting caught can cause you die due to the time it takes to kill her. Successfully avoiding her stun essentially stops her auto attack damage since she will only attempt to stun you.

Shadowstep is an instant shadowstep that seems to teleport Mavis about 20 yards in a random direction. After Shadowstepping Mavis will usually try to reenter melee range. However, if she is rooted in place when she shadowsteps she will attempt to use Mortal Throw since she cannot enter melee range, so be careful with roots and be prepared to run into melee range if necessary.

A good place to kill Mavis is in the water next to the pier she spawns at. No Alliance NPCs will attack you in the water and you have plenty of room to kite in and out of melee range. You can safely pull her by dismounting above the water and hitting her with a ranged attack as you fall.

One of the three rare spawns required for I'm In Your Base, Killing Your Dudes. The other 2 mobs for this achievement are Disha Fearwarden and Dalan Nightbreaker.

As there is a chance for these mobs to drop Blood-Soaked Invitation, expect these guys to be heavily farmed.

The invitations these mobs drop are BOP and are not a 100% drop. The rares can all be found in or right next to their respective faction's keeps and appear to currently have a 30-60 minute respawn timer.

It seems that Mr. Bonks might be linked to Mavis.

When she finally spawned, she was kneeling, petting the cat. As soon as I engaged her, the cat took off and has not returned, even after the kill.

My boyfriend and I camped these rares yesterday when servers came up to try and get him the Brawler's Guild invitation.

They were spawning within 15 mins of the last kill when we were out there, i'm not sure if this was intended or not. (apparently this was hotfixed and is now further apart)

It's not of a solo kill, but at least you can somewhat see the skills of things you have to stay out of. (Even if my settings are on low). I even get hit by a couple Mortal Throws :P

They were killed with a Ret Paladin and a Disc Priest.

This post relates to the SPAWN TIME.

As of today, I camped her after finding her corpse. Mavis spawned 39 minutes after the corpse despawned.

I killed her at 2:36. She spawned again at 3:31.

The second she died at 3:31, i used a stopwatch to time precisely how long her next spawn would be. She spawned exactly 52 minutes after I killed her.

For the sake of loot, I received no invitations in the 3 kills.

Mavis can be found on the docks. It's the platform next to the cannontower in front of the big gate towards the courtyard.

For Spawn timer:

It seems to be dependent on the server's population. Many high pop realms are reporting timers of 30minutes. On my extremely low pop server - It took three hours for a spawn to show up.

Mavis Harms is the easiest one to solo. She is by the dock (84,30). Only a couple of mobs around her which you can easily kill before you attack her. Fly low across the water so you don't get attacked by the griffin guards.

It is a 30 to 60 Minute Respawntimer, they can all up at once. Also Mr. Bonks has nothing to do with Mavis Harms with spawn or something, several times i found Mavis Harms but the Cat was not there even with a fresh respawn.

No "15 Minute" connection between the 3 Rares.

I've camped these rares quite effectively for a day, here are my findings:

- They respawn within ~15 minutes of each other

- The TYPICAL respawn timer seems to be no less than 40 minutes and no more than 60 minutes. So if your record a kill, take note of the time and come back in 40 minutes, at worst you'll only have to wait for about 20 mins (usually less).

- Make sure you clear the trash around the rares so you don't pull aggro but MORE IMPORTANTLY so you don't attract people doing dailies.

I got my invitation within the first 24 hours of farming

I soloed Mavis as an arms warrior.

You should almost never move away from Mavis, you can let her Shank you without being in danger even if you are below 35% health since you will most likely have Second Wind.
You can however not survive too many Mortal Throws, hence the name, they will kill you rather fast.
You can avoid being shanked though by of course using interrupting attacks like Dragon Roar right before she is about to use it, the same goes for disarm, doing a hamstring in order to run out and charge back in will also work without making her use the Mortal Throw, and the same can be done by heroic leaping out and charging back in.

To put it simple, stay in melee range and you will survive this fight while being solo.

If you wish to solo Mavis without ANY trouble or grief no matter what state your gear is in, just pick off the mob to her left, and the one that patrols, then drop your Terracotta Fragment at the start of the fight.

It will take ALL the aggro and you will down her without losing ANY health or being affected by ANY of her abilities whatsoever.

Absolute walk in the park.

Mr Bonks (the cat) spawns slightly before she does.
He is supposed to run away and disappear after she dies, but this is not always the case.

I found her corpse on the dock and hung around for maybe 30 minutes before giving up and wandering off again without seeing her corpse despawn or seeing a respawn, all the while that cat just staring me down and laughing. I could tell he was laughing.

Do not trust the cat. >:(

Blood Dk downed her first try. (Obviously).
She was faily easy, the stuns i kept out of 3-4 times before i let her stun me properly so we can move on.
I always had the fear that she would despawn because she started to move towards the angle of her spawn point.

Was a easy fight, didn't have to kite her and didn't take any damage.
It was only absorb,absorb,absorb.

I wish my Deadly Throw could hit so hard.

I'm surprised not to read this anywhere here, so it may be a glitch because I pulled her into the water or something, but I managed to make her cancel her Mortal Throws by swimming up to her as she was casting.

A bit counter-intuitive perhaps, but apparently walking up to her and screaming OH PLEASE NO DON'T KILL ME AGAIN HERE I AM IN MELEE RANGE *SOB* rather than running away or taking it like a man seems to be the way to go !

Okay, I've soloed this chick twice already, and this is my tactic as a Rogue.

Behind Mavis there is another pier with a boat docked. Clear that pier and the mobs around it. In between Mavis and the pier there's a little ramp going into the water, get on it. Use throw or some other ranged ability and run directly up to the boat. She might stop to cast Mortal Throw, but just run to the far side of the boat. If needed, keep throwing so you don't reset her. Once she is on the boat you won't have any adds to worry about, and you can easily and safely kill her at your own pace without having to watch your surroundings :)

Two things I noticed while killing her as a Warlock (Affliction, Grimoire of Sacrifice):

Do not use the Doomguard. It may last a while, but she'll just Deadly Throw it back to the twisting nether with two, three throws. Use the Infernal instead - it will stay up for its full duration due to him being a melee pet.
If 1.5 seconds cast time for Shank is not enough for you to avoid it or if your gear is still not that good (I did it with an average item level of ~461), use Curse of Enfeeblement. Less physical damage and more casting time on her spells means you'll take a lot less damage, as you'll be able to avoid Shank easier (and she won't hurt you that much).

I've been farming the rares and I see Dalan and Disha nearly 100%. Killed both of them about 6 times yesterday. Mavis however, I have not seen even once! sad face

Just solo'd her and wanted to share my tactic as a 90-503-Spriest.

She has a VERY dangerous ranged attack (Mortal throw) which killed me in about three hits the first time i tried. Her melee attack (Shank) hit for much less, but has a 3 second stun. Needless to say I stayed within melee range and dealt with the stun, your dots will make up for it. I brought her into the water through the tunnel right next to her and went out the other end a little ways past the dock. She will teleport herself away from you, so either have her rooted, or quickly get back in melee range so she doesnt use her deadly attack. I used my shield for quick heals and protection and my Mindbender for extra dps. Other than that, it was pretty much a cake walk.
She only dropped an Honorable Commendation of the Dominance Offensive

The pier Mavis is on has a tunnel into the water- approach from the water side and swim up the tunnel to avoid the air patrols. Then you can just poke your head up and pull her in the tunnel, preventing any other mobs joining the fight. Plus, since she's confined in this small space, she (usually) can't go anywhere when she tries to shadowstep and therefore can't get range for her Mortal Throw. (This is the easiest of the 3 rares for me to farm on my hunter - and a good way for a PVE'r to stock up on honor points to buy mounts)

If you are farming these three rares for the Honorable Commendation of the Dominance Offensive or the Blood-Soaked Invitation be sure to loot the epic that sometimes drops when you kill them (Mark of the Hardened Grunt from Dalan, Kor'kron Book of Hurting from Mavis and Horde Insignia of Conquering from Disha). You can only carry one but delete the one you have after another one drops. Not looting the epic off these rare corpses will delay the spawn time.

For reference; I killed Dalan Nightbreaker and did not loot the epic. I waited 50 minutes for him to spawn again. He did not spawn and his corpse was still there. After 70 minutes his corpse disappeared and at 80 minutes he spawned again. The exact same thing happened with Disha Fearwarden.

As a Mistweaver Monk you'll Dematerialize after every Shank, making this a particularly easy kill.

Super easy kill for a ranged. Well - maybe as a Hunter.

I just went into the water - at range distance - jumped up once and nailed her right in the noggin' with an Arcane shot. This pissed her off something fierce - and she ran down the middle of that pier to the opening under water - and the fight commenced. I stayed mid-way around her so she never fired off the Mortal Throw - and never hit me melee.

My pet held her the whole time, and with a secondary pet and STAMPEDE - I owned her.

Easy fight.

I just beat her. I treated it like a pvp battle did the running around and all. That worked great until some of the random npcs joined in. Make sure you clear the area and know that she stuns you a lot. Other than that just beat the crap out of her. Tank and spank.

This rare is on a 1h respawn timer.
Before patch 5.4.7 this NPC used to drop 250 per kill.
The drop was nerfed to only once per day for each of the three rares.

This macro lets you check whether you've already received your daily honor points by all the Krasarang faction Rares:
