While smaller than the infamous ravens of Gilneas, crows are no less clever or cunning.

I spent a while on PTR trying to find a wild Crow, to no avail. I found a couple as the secondary pet in battles against wild Darkmoon Glowflies level 5 and up. The problem was that I couldn't capture them. When I moused over the trap button, it had a red message to the effect of "The pet is not available to be captured." I assume this is something that will be fixed before 5.1 hits live, so when that happens, feel free to delete this post.

Confirmed, they are now capturable. Just caught a poor as secondary to a glowfly. They are still pretty rare though, went through 40+ glowflies before finding one to try on. (Thanks jmpanter)
There still seem to be a tiny bug though, there is an option to cage them in the journal, clicking it doesn't do anything though.

Well I'm not sure if its a bug or not, but currently these don't seem to be capturable. After spending the best part of an hour searching for these, finding nothing, challenging very glowfly I met and killing every non battle-pet critter I could find, I finally found one as a secondary pet to a Glowfly but after wilting it down I was unable to throw the box. SS uploaded soon and I urge all pet collectors to get a ticket into the bug report system to try get this fixed before the DMF leaves this month.

Confirmed,it CANNOT be tammed right now on the live,its a bug that`s being looked into so hopefully it will be resolved soon.

One spawned as a secondary for me but I could not capture it. Did not have one in my inventory. I wonder why :(

oh boy....every darkmoon faire we found a bug, now the new pet CROW isnt capturable.. awesome work blizzard....they really know how to frustate a subscriber.

The Crow only appears as one of several possible secondary pets to the Darkmoon Glowfly but are now able to be captured thanks to a recent hotfix.

Due to the level of the Glowfly, you'll also find the crow in a wide variety of levels and qualities. However as the level of the Darkmoon Glowfly dictates whether you'll have a secondary pet or not, you will need to spend a lot of time and effort to camp for a rare. You should see a crow within 10 or so battles (depending on the level).

Just confirming the existence of the rare crow which I managed to capture after ~10 crow battles.

After looking for a rare for a while ~3hrs
They spawn as secondary pets to the Darkmoon Glowfly
Darkmoon Glowfly spawn at levels 1-10
only levels 5-10 have secondary pets
of the secondary pets the crow is 1 of 6 that spawn on the Island
and only (based of other averages) 4-6% will be rare
Leaving the chance for a rare crow to be very slim

If you are having trouble finding these, make a human alt on a dead server and run to DMF. The area is not CRZ so you will not have any competition.

I just captured a crow, first one I have ever found and it was a level 7 rare.

The capture bug is fixed - just captured a Crow, as a secondary to a Darkmoon Glowfly around 45,50.

After a while of fighting Glowflys, I started keeping track of secondaries on the level 5+ fights.

Out of 65 battles, there were:

Darkmoon Glowfly: 6
Crow: 10
Roach: 11
Adder: 20
Sea Gull: 5
Rat: 13

As you can see, the Crows are common but not as common as some of the other secondaries. Keep hope! I must've fought over 100 of the darn glowflys before I found my rare crow.

Gilnean Raven and Crow have an amazing combo with Call Darkness but don't bother using it against an Elemental-type; the blindness inflicted by that ability is a weather effect and thus the combo won't work on an Elemental.

"WTF I missed! It's supposed to be auto-hit in Darkness, and I used Darkness!"

Elemental opponent. Actually took me a moment to realise this.

Went to DMF this morning took around 30-40 attempts from glowfly battles as a secondary above lvl 5 so there can be a second pet to battle.

In addition to having two pets to "peck" away at the crow's health until it can be captured, bring along a high level pet. That way you can handle as many misses as it takes before it is yours.

After 150 battles I gave up trying to find a rare. In that time I encountered 7 rare glowflies, a rare seagull, and 3 uncommon crows.

I used my level 25 pet to one shot everything to win each battle, rather than forfeiting and moving on, because it's just as fast to collect wins toward the master pet battler achievements, and it's a good way to track how many you've done while searching for that elusive rare crow...

I had no idea it was a new addition with the last patch. When I was on the island, I just suddenly noticed they were capturable. I camped until I got a rare one (and a rare glowfly), only took an hour or so, so they're out there.

After around 15 hours. Yes 15 hours of farming for this in a rare i finally got one. Now here is the real kicker. For fun I add it to my team and use it on the next glowfly I see just to get my anger out on the island. Low and behold what should appear. Another rare crow.

The last faire, I spent the entire week looking for this damn bird. This morning, I get a poor quality crow up in the mountains on my first try. -_- It was secondary to those damn glowflies.

After killing 20 or so Darkmoon Glowfly I finally had a Crow appear as secondary pet. And it was a rare.
My Terrible Turnip ensured the crow was mine, but when I captured it the writing was in 'yellow/orange' as opposed to being 'blue' for rare, 'green' for uncommon, etc.. Anyone else had this happen? I have a screenshot if anyone's interested in seeing what I mean.
It still has it as being blue in my pet journal though.... :/

One thing you can do now is leave an 'unloved' alt on the island, and then log there for the 3/4 of the time the fair is closed. The fair NPCs are not there, but the pets are...

Just my 2 cents, your best bet is to capture the first Crow you happen across and use your time farming a Battle Stone (or, better yet, the gold to buy one) to upgrade it.

This farm gets tedious quickly, especially if you have any competition on Darkmoon Isle. Trust me on this one.

Got to remember that these can only be caught when you fight a Glowfly and not the random ones you see on the ground.

Just my 2 cents... started farming for this today, the first one I come across was paired with a rare glowfly... Like and idiot I opt for capturing the rare and killing the crow... I've now fought dozens of glowflies (including another rare) and yet to see another crow.

Do your self a favor and just capture a crow for the sake of completeness or use a battle stone to upgrade it... I may never use my rare glowflies...

Given the breadth of my responsibilities and inability to fully investigate every report of devious activity, I’ve summoned all of you here to give you the details of your next mission. It is of the utmost importance that what we discuss here is kept top secret. Should you choose to leak any of the following details, I will immediately disavow your existence and send Crithto to ensure you die a swift and quiet death. Your lips will be sealed one way or another!

Your target of interest is Silas Darkmoon. He’s the purveyor of the “greatest show on Azeroth,” but my sources tell me he’s up to something sinister. Mind you, one of my sources is Topper McNabb, but that’s neither here nor there. Darkmoon is planning something—I can feel it! And I want you to investigate his island of miscreants to see what’s really going on. Sample the goods, test each activity, and make sure you’re not spotted as one of my trainees. Blend in, act like all the other seedy denizens of the island, and don’t come back until you have some concrete information about the Ringleader. I need to know!

Oh, and while you’re there, you might want to try taming a crow. It is rumored that these jackdaws carry missives from Silas to his cohorts, as well as munch on the corpses his camp is purported to leave in the adjacent woods. Don’t end up one yourself!

Crithto: Ahh, the enigmatic Crow; a diurnal shadow cawing from the tree tops, out of sight, lying in wait for a fresh body to nom on. Or leftover funnel cakes and crunchy frogs to nibble on—it doesn’t matter. There’s a reason why a group of crows is referred to as a murder. And being the adventurous owner of this pet is sure to produce similar results in the Pet Battles arena. The one-two punch that’s guaranteed to send a message is Call Darkness and Nocturnal Strike. Yet this elusive avian’s ability to dish out damage doesn’t stop there—especially when you combine abilities like Alpha Strike and Murder. The only advice I can give is to ensure you treat your Crow with respect. If you don’t, it tends to go for the eyes first.

Don’t mistake this task to be anything other than a reconnaissance mission. You are not to attempt to take down Silas or his minions at this time. Well, you can try, but it’s not likely you’ll survive. And even more important is to ensure you return with one of his crows. They hold secrets in their eyes and in their minds that only I can decipher. I got mine by going up on the high cliffs.. you get there by taking a left right after you port into the area.. nobody (and I am on a locked pop busy server) was up there farming.. took two clears to get one but .. bam.. there it was.. happy hunting

Because many of the glowflies are up on the ledges, I found the most efficient path for farming them (to look for crows as secondaries) is to start from the portal where you enter the island, run along the ridge to one side, eventually dropping down to get the glowflies on the forest floor. Then take the portal from the docks, re-enter the island, and do the other side, then repeat.

I really wish I could STOP pets from leveling, like we can do for characters. I've used countless pets trying to fight all of the darkmoon glowflies in hopes of getting a crow as a secondary fighter. But the pets keep leveling too high and hit too hard, and I have to pick another lower level to take it's place!

At this rate, I'm going to run out of low-level pets to farm the glowflies with!

I have been farming for this pet forever, I'd take whatever quality I can get. Not had a single second spawn pet. Passed a dwarf pet battling and he had captured an uncommon glowfly in a trap, was on the second pet. What was it? A rare crow! WTF?

As he was a dwarf, the only thing I can assume is he was drunk.

Got a rare P/S today after about an hour of searching. Paired with a rare Glowfly of all things. Needless to say, didn't take long to decide which to capture.

This game can be slightly sadistic sometimes.

I'm cruising around Darkmoon Isle, looking for a crow. I'm fighting and killing a lot of Darkmoon Glowflies. I guess I wouldn't mind capturing an upgrade, since my current ones are both Uncommon quality. But it's mostly just white or gray, so I kill 'em and move on.

I finally come upon a Rare-quality Glowfly. It's even the desirable breed, and would still be slightly higher level after capture than the ones I already have. Complete win, right?

So, guess what the secondary pet is?

Poor-quality very low level crow (but at least a tolerable breed, if not optimum).

First crow I've ever seen, in hours of farming.

That lovely glowfly... complete dead meat. But at least I got my crow.

LOLS I just started pet battling about last week. i looked at a couple of guides online and they said the crow was pretty good, so i decided that i'm going to go catch one. I just looked on here to see where they spawn and saw that they had a very low chance of spawning with the glowflys and an even lower chance to be rare when they do show up. Which brings me to why i was saying "LOLS" the second glowfly i go to battle has a lv10 rare crow with it and i caught it. :)

Got this guy tonight but not from the two flies listed on the map. I'm pretty sure they can spawn from any fly high level enough to have a partner. Only took me about 20 minutes.
