This Boss is found in Scarlet Monastery, Cathedral side (Right door/but not portal).
He is a lvl 40 Elite Boss in the Scarlet Monastery Cathedral part he has some spell's that you might whant to watch out for like he can Sleep you he can fear you but fearing is rare for this boss and he has some heavy DPS spell's and curses that you'll need to watch and dispell. Here are some of his stat's.

High Inquisitor Fairbank's

6,100 Health
2,566 Mana
and he is a level 40 elite in Scarlet Monastery Cathedral Side.

To find this boss when you enter the Cathedral room through the Big Door of the Cathedral you will see straight ahead Scarlet Commander Mograine a level 52 Elite and to the Left and right of him are pathway's leading into seperate room's on each side. He is the farthest room on the Right Side of Scarlet Commander as you'r walking to him when you get into the room the far Northwest corner there is a lit Torch that you will need tp pull to ope na Secret Door inside there is Fairbank's.
He show's to be aggresive but he is not you can walk by him as many times and get many screenshot's of him anywhere really, So do not stay back and think he will attack you cause he isnt aggresive.

This boss doesn't seem to have had his loot "revisited" sofar with 2.3... still all green. most other bosses have had their white/green drops upgraded to blue

For those that don't know, High Inquisitor Fairbanks was Highlord Mograine's lead advisor who was present the day he was murdered by his son Renault, whom you fight at the end of this wing. He witnessed Renault taking the sword and shoving it through his father's heart while his back was turned. He lay still, buried under a pile of corpses, feigning death to avoid being slain by the younger Mograine.

When telling of his escape, he says, "Aye, I did. Much to the dismay of the lesser Mograine, I made my way back to the Scarlet Monastery. I shouted and screamed. I told the tale to any that would listen. And I would be murdered in cold blood for my actions, dragged to this chamber - the dark secret of the order. But some did listen... some heard my words. Thus was born the Argent Dawn..."

The bracers he drops are simply amazing.
It's also shocking that one person like this who is easily beaten by any group who have reached him, has such a long story behind him.

If you enter the Scarlet Monastery having Corrupted Ashbringer equipped and go near Fairbanks you will revive him to his former human condition. :)

If you go into his room with the Corrupted Ashbringer he gives you a long dialouge (sp) about what happened that day. He says ,
"I'm afraid that the blade which you hold in your hands is beyond saving. The hatred runs too deep. But do not lose hope, warrior. Where one chapter has ended, a new one begins.
Find his son - a more devout and pious man you may never meet. It is rumored that he is able to build the Ashbringer anew, without requiring the old, tainted blade.

<High Inquisitor Fairbanks shakes his head.>
No, human; only one of his sons is dead. The other lives...
<High Inquisitor Fairbanks points to the sky.>
The Outland... Find him there..."

However, it's currently unknown as far as I can tell who his son is, however if some lore junkie could point me in the direction of an in-game NPC related to Mograine I'd sure love to know where this is going..

You can find the younger, live (human) Fairbanks in Caverns of Time: Old Hillsbrad Foothills in a meeting with members of the Knights of the Silver Hand.

Arguably the most subtle and maybe even unintentional trivia fact is that there is an area in Alaska called Fairbanks, and it is usually noted that undeath is cold and chilly.

I feel slow for not noticing sooner but when did his drops get upgraded from greens to blues? They're actually usable for leveling now.

Sometimes he drops Branded Leather Bracers, which is a must-have for rogues and feral druids in the 30 - 39 bracket. I got on my 80 and ran my 35 rogue friend through it and it dropped. Then he got on his 80 and ran my 37 druid through it, and it dropped again!
Once you get the bracers, you can get the +24 assault power enchantment.

Confirmed, this still works as of Nov 2nd, 2011. Also, for those of you, like me, who don't know which entrance to go into, as you run into the room after coming up the stairs, go through the closed door on the left.

I Read an own the Ashbringer Comic, He was The only 1 that Agreed with The Ashbringer as well as was by his side at every Turn A Good and trust worthy friend.
However once the Scarlet Monastery started he Became uneasy of it and when They took the bait an Dashed to the Town Thinking There was people in need, He was betrayed, and under the ruble He witnessed the death of The Great man seeing his own son Kill him. and after that He limped In a hurry To The Cathedral, to warn the others But it was too late as Scarlet Commander Mograine the Ashbringers betrare of a son was there an Sent Fairbanks to a hidden chamber saying he has gone mad from the undead Attack. He now Lays in Angry silence to be free from his captives an in so much anger will attack any 1 that gets in his way to kill his friends murderer.

not sure why this is - down its quite helpful in my book. as im a lore guy an all, but i guess thats just how it goes.

Patch 5.04, High Inquisitor Fairbanks is still in the Cathedral behind the hidden wall. Although he is dead. (A dead undead?) Hopefully it will be a quest chain in heroic.

I'd like to know what happens with the updated MoP version of SM; Fairbanks appears to be well and truly dead on the floor and I can't even target him. Maybe if you go near him with the Corrupted Ashbringer something happens?

I kinda doubt it as Tirion has the Ashbringer now and it wouldn't make much sense in the lore side of things. It makes all the sense in the world for something to happen, though.

I am sorry to say that if you bring the version of Corrupted Ashbringer updated for Legion—Corrupted Remembrance—nothing happens.

I am glad, however, that Fairbanks can still be found here.
