Sounds fun, I might get some friends together and start doing this, except you know.More then once a week. Maybe 3 times. If we do i'll probably be a prot paly.Im noticing alot of group quest items on the toons... >.>?
(( Jasica here ))The group quest items are a function of pace. Up until roughly Zul'Farrak we actually looked at loot tables in advance and tried to run a place until we had pretty much tapped it out for gear. Around the time we finished ZF that way, we started just going for XP as fast as we could, because we were getting eager to get into Outland as fast as possible, and running an instance until you've got all the useful gear out of it tends to leave you over-leveled for the place. To make the challenge harder, we tried to move onto a new instance as soon as we could mathematically handle it (i.e., as soon as we were within 4 levels of the boss), and move on after that as soon as we could. Part of that drive to maximize XP per run was picking up all the quests that needed to be done in the instance. With a very few exceptions we don't bother to do quests of any nature that don't involve instances. When you consider that we were always running with full rest XP (due to our RL schedule requirements) and it generally only took about two hours of actual run to do a full clear, that meant we blitzed through most instances pretty quickly (Sunken Temple a notable exception, may it rot forever). That has obvious effects on the number of instance drops available to spread throughout the group. So while in our 20s we were all pretty much in state-of-the-art instance drops from head to toe, by the time we got to Outland some of us had pieces that hadn't been updated since the 30s. But the instance quest rewards, of course, were guaranteed. That's the source of all the group quest items you're seeing (plus the fact that sometimes there are no good instance replacements for group quest slots).
What an awesome idea... I did this with two other friends, myself as the warrior tank, another as a druid healer and the third a mage for damage. It was fun leveling, but we did questing and instances. Now I want to try it as a five-man group for instances and such only! :P
One of my best friends & I leveled twin paladins together from 1 to 66 (we stopped there in 2.1). As I was Holy, he was Protection, we tanked & healed every Alliance dungeon (and a few Horde ones) including the classic ones such as Stratholme, Scholomance, etc.Our guild was called the <Scarlet Sisterhood> and we played on a PVP realm (the same one Miyari plays on, in fact). As we purged the land of all evil, and jerks, we would /pray for our fallen adversaries. The most fun element was getting our epic Charger mounts together after having cleansed Plaguewood. It was really great.I actually intended to turn our adventures into short stories & even had a blog centered around our experiences, but I let that die off. At level 40, we stopped playing the paladins for a while since I was in a car accident. At level 66, we decided to go our separate ways for TBC & I began work on my warrior. Paladins didn't impress me in TBC, but they're a force to be reckoned with in WLK. That's for sure.
I'm attempting to start a 5 man all tauren druid group. Same idea. YOU STOLE IT! :P
My boyfriend and I have pallies that we level together. They're at level 40 now. Mine is holy and his is prot. =]We can do quests so much easier! Plus it's fun.
In case anybody is interested in setting up a group like this, I made a little post here.
So in addition to the characters I normally play, I'm also part of something called a static group. I don't know if this is already a widely used term, but if it isn't I'm inventing it now.Static Group: A group of characters who are specifically set aside for the purpose of playing with one another.I belong to a five man static group that I've played with for months now. It's five players, most of which are IRL friends of mine, and we get together about once every two weeks and run an instance. That's it.We've never levelled any other way since we were old enough to run Ragefire Chasm at level 13. We're now around level 60, so it's been a long trip--but with plenty of rest experience, it goes surprisingly smoothly. And it's fun--I have my main and my alts to play when I want to do something by myself, but I always get the chance to run an instance with my close friends every week or two. I strongly recommend it for anyone who has friends. Here's the roster of the group I run with...
I lvl my holy priest this way. No questing, just run instances. Too bad I dont have a static group, its always random people. But I see what you've done here and it really sounds like fun to me ;)
Complete waste of time. Trust me be bored lvling so u can have fun doing ur pve at lvl 80 Not to mention ur gona such shi.T at pvp if u dont learn to play by yourselfThank you for your very positive and constructive reply to this post.

I wish I could do that, but my playtimes vary too much form others to make it effective. =[
I beginned WoW with 4 of my friends, and even before we bought the games, we planned what classes we'll create.I play as a Enha Shaman, and my friends were;
My girlfriend and I are gonna do something along those lines once I get my DK up to level 80.Although we are going to cheat a little in the form of BoA items. I hope that maybe we can get someone else with us aswell to roll a tanking class, because atm, she has a Priest, and I've rolled a mage.
No love for Dire Maul :(Its funny that no one who's done this said they did DM -- I wonder why?
No love for Dire Maul :(Its funny that no one who's done this said they did DM -- I wonder why?I'm amazed they did Gnomergan. Most people avoid it like the plague these days (only time I've been through it, I got run through by an 80 - even that took 45 min).We also have a 4-man static. Me, my wife, and 2 IRL friends. I love being able to spec prot (paladin), and not have any issues. We don't grind instances, just run them once or twice for the quests. Pretty low level so far due to time restrictions - 26 for all 4. Just ran Stockades (4 man) and Deadmines (picked up a PuG fifth) so far, debating whether we'll bother with Gnomer. My wife and I have never run it for real, but the other 2 players don't really want to do it again.
I think it'd be fun to do something like this. I just did BRD and Strath on my 60 DK, so I got a taste of old world instancing (while not being run through by an 80 - like inevitably seems to happen nowadays).Sure, I'd be up for it.
We got one recruit already. :DNow we just need 3 more suckers people.
:) awesome post dude I too have a group like this, we're new to the game, and we didn't called ourselves a static party, but rather a gang xD.we don't level exclusively by instance, we also quest together.the game can be fun to solo, but when you get your real life friends and family to play with ya, is just awesome.my small group is composed by:Me=Death Knight lvl 61My brother = warrior lvl 62My cousin= rogue lvl 60My cousin's girlfriend=Priest lvl 63My Best friend= Shaman lvl 61I started as a paladin, but after 58 I rerolled to Death Knight (Role-play :P we play in an RP server, and for RP reasons my holy crusader became a fallen crusader) I waited to 58 to roll a DK, cause If I had made it at 55, then by the end of the DK starting chain I'd be 3 lvls ahead of my group, so I rather waited untill all 5 of us were 58 and ready to outland to roll the DK.is nice to see that other plp have a fixed party to do things togheter, is great.we really can't wait untill we are high enough to do the wrath-gate event togheter.we did the DK quest-chain together, but they all dropped their DK's and sticked to their original classes to keep our group cool :Pso far we've cleared many of the pre-bc instances (notable exeptions are Stockades, we ain't getting near this one untill we ding 80 xD cause we're horde, scholomance, everything inside blackrock mountain, gnomeregan the cementary of the scarlet monastery, one of the wings of dire maul, and blackfathom deeps)we have planed to clear them all, but we mostly focus on questing, when a quest takes us to an instance, then so be it, but if we dont' HAVE to go then we don't.of the whole group only my brother and me have been playing since TBC (me=druid, my brother=warrior he just can't let go of that tin-can xD)but after WOTLK since we had a full group and we love to roleplay, then we decided to start fresh on an RP server.as for a name of our little gang, we don't ahve one :P "the furious five" sounds cool, but that's taken.so I guess "the five gummi-bears" will sufice xD I guess our motto would be "united by blood, we fight in friendship, and will die with honor"
Come on, you're telling me there's only one other person on this darn forum that wants to get this going? >:l
We got one recruit already. :DNow we just need 3 more suckers people.Ill do it and ill go shammy.
