Gearing up QuicklyJustice and Valor Point Gear

Epic ilvl 489 gear formerly cost Justice Points. If you have an ancient 90 that doesn’t have boosted gear, these are sold choices for all slots except weapons. Sold by Commander Oxheart in Townlong Steppes--click on the NPC to see all of the the items.

Epic ilvl 522 Shado-Pan Assault gear formerly cost Valor points. While most of this gear requires Friendly, each boss gives 300 reputation and trash gives reputation too from Neutral to Friendly. Plus, you can buy the ilvl 522 neck at Neutral. All slots are covered except weapons, with Shoulders requiring Exalted and probably not that practical for gearing up quickly. Sold by Ao Pye in Townlong Steppes.

Transmog tip: a lot of old Cataclysm tier pieces that cost Justice Points are now available for gold--try out a new mog!

Reforging is permanently going away and currently reforged gear will revert to its pre-reforged state.

Items are receiving a stat squish in the prepatch. You will not feel weaker, your stats will just be scaled down for visual purposes. You will still be able to solo old instances.

Removed Stats

Hit and Expertise are removed and have been converted into Critical Strike, Haste, or Mastery on existing gear. In addition, all players now have a 100% chance to hit and 0% chance to glance when fighting creatures up to 3 levels higher.

Dodge and Parry are removed and have been converted into Critical Strike, Haste, or mastery on armor pieces, or Bonus Armor on non-armor pieces. In addition, all players now have 0% chance to be dodged and 3% chance to be parried. Tanks receive an additional 3% reduction in chance to be parried. You can still get dodge and parry via abilities or gems.

Modified Stats

Spirit is only found on non-armor pieces--necks, rings, cloak, trinkets. Spirit is removed from armor pieces, such as chests.

Bonus Armor is only found on tank-appropriate Non-Armor pieces (necks, rings, cloak, trinkets, shields). This increases the tank's armor.

Haste: Precise Primordial Ruby, Wicked Vermilion Onyx (duplicates Quick Sun's Radiance)

Crit: Rigid River's Heart, Piercing Wild Jade (duplicates Smooth Sun's Radiance)

Agi/Crit: Glinting Imperial Amethyst (duplicates Deadly Vermilion Onyx)

Dodge/Crit: Nimble Wild Jade

Haste/Crit: Accurate Imperial Amethyst, Crafty Vermilion Onyx, Lightning Wild Jade

Int/Crit: Veiled Imperial Amethyst (duplicates Potent Vermilion Onyx)

Mastery/Crit: Sensei's Wild Jade

Parry/Crit: Retaliating Imperial Amethyst

PvP Resilience/Crit: Balanced Wild Jade

Str/Crit: Etched Imperial Amethyst (duplicates Inscribed Vermilion Onyx)

Stam/Crit: Confounded Wild Jade (duplicates Jagged Wild Jade)

Dodge/Haste: Resolute Vermilion Onyx

Mastery/Haste: Keen Vermilion Onyx

PvP Power/Haste: Shattered Wild Jade

PvP Resilience/Haste: Tenuous Vermilion Onyx

Stam/Haste: Guardian's Imperial Amethyst (duplicates Forceful Wild Jade)

Enchants

This primarily affects Cloak and Glove enchants, where there are legacy enchants with Agility, Attack Power, Intellect, and Spellpower. For example, Enchant Cloak - Greater Agility gives + 12 Agility, Superior Critical Strike from MoP gives +12 Crit...and Greater Critical Strike from Cata gives +13 Crit.
Some notable old enchants: Enchant Cloak - Greater Agility, Greater Critical Strike, Enchant Gloves - Major Healing, Enchant Boots - Surefooted, Enchant Bracer - Healing Power, Enchant Gloves - Superior Agility
Weapon enchants like Executioner, Black Magic, and Mongoose are particularly strong. Others are very close to MoP enchants, such as the 3 intellect difference between Jade Spirit and Power Torrent.
Some leg enchants are also affected, compare Shadowleather Leg Armor from MoP to Scorched Leg Armor from Cataclysm.

Item FinderConsumablesDue to the stat squished and removed stats, some consumables now offer the same stats, or older versions are slightly better than the newer versions. We're primarily pointing out these differences for you to spot good deals on the AH or turn old mats into useful consumables--there shouldn't be any pressure to farm Cataclysm mats for a tiny stat gain.

Flasks from Cataclysm, such as Flask of the Winds, offer several more stat points over the Mists of Pandaria equivalent, such as Flask of Spring Blossoms.
Potions from Cataclysm, such as Potion of the Tol'vir, offer several more stat points over the Mists of Pandaria equivalent, such as Virmen's Bite.
Elixirs from Cataclysm, such as Elixir of Deep Earth, offer several more stat points over the Mists of Pandaria equivalent, such as Mantid Elixir.
Cataclysm food is slightly better than even top Mists of Pandaria food, such as Severed Sagefish Head vs Spiced Blossom Soup.

Profession Combat Perks Removed

The Mixology perk is removed.

Blacksmiths cannot add gem sockets to their gloves or bracers.

Enchanters cannot enchant their rings.

Engineering glove enchants are being removed. Helms are remaining.

Herbalists no longer have Lifeblood (on use heal and haste).

Scribe shoulder enchants should be equivalent to BoE epic shoulder enchants--currently this is bugged and slightly better.

Special Jewelcrafting-only gems now give the same stat boost as regular crafted gems.

Leatherworkers cannot enchant their wrists.

Miners do not get a Stamina increase.

Skinners do not get a critical strike increase.

Tailors cannot enchant their capes for a stat proc.

Just go to http://wod.wowhead.com/list and enter your character's name and realm on the left-hand side for "Lookup Battle.net Profile."

The only thing I can think of is they're trying to limit the damage you can do as dps. Pre-MoP they gave us a bunch of stuff to play with and they've been taking it away little by little every expansion.
