Judgments back to magic dmg now? Dislike

I would still like to be able to transfer all this "BoA" gear to my other characters on other realms. I've got 11/11 Alliance toons all on one server, not one needing any of this leveling BoA gear I've accumulated that my fresh Horde characters could greatly use over on a completely different server. I'd prefer not to have to fork over $25 for a character transfer just to do this, then end up either leveling up that class again on my main server without all these items or pay another $25 to move him back. Introduce Account banks already that you can only accept BoA gear to transfer across servers. In my eyes, that should have been the Void Storage instead. Could have expanded the Bank slots to give us more space seeing as how we're being flooded with all this Vanity gear.

So more Rehashed models? awesome because we don't already have enough of it. Some original models would of been nice. :/

This Xpack becomes even more of a disapointment

Comment by Radget

If you're referring to "Hellscream's BOA" gear, it's not rehashed. Wowhead hasn't added the upgraded textures.

A while back, these old Horde PvP weapons were polished up and given an upgrade in their poly-count on their texture. So, the old PvP weapons will keep their current look and the new BOA will use a much better looking and more polished look.

Considering they've gone and made a ton of new weapons for both PvP and PvE content in 5.4, this is just an added bonus. They didn't HAVE to add this random gear with upgraded textures, but they did anyways.

So stop complaining and go cry about this expansion somewhere else.

You do realize that this is PTR and that the models are not final right? In fact, that's the case for every single beta/PTR ever, the items are added first, and use placeholder models until they're added much later.

Please inform yourself better before making statements like these. They reflect poorly on you.

So, ok, the new BOA ilvl aren't final, I get that...but why? This is turning into a joke really fast. Now you don't even need to work on alts! You can just raid on one and send the BOA gear to your alts. Sure, they're heroics, and maybe not the easiest to acquire (who knows?). I don't know, I'm just not a fan of putting more or less BiS gear into the game and making it BOA. And yes, I'm aware that it won't be BiS forever.

Ok, yes, Ilvl not final...got it, but obviously they want the heroic weapons to be BOA. Heroic raid gear should be BOP just like it has been. I just don't get the concept here. Do heroic raids, and the weapons are BOA as a congratulations? What are they trying to accomplish here with this? Pleasing the instant gratification crowd?

Comment by 1083520

The trinkets are pretty bizarre and OP as well. "Amplifies Crit, Haste, and Mastery by 14%"? Is that a joke? What happened to just plain stats with a use or proc?

Yes, feels odd seeing percentage based stats, although wasn't that how it looked back in classic WoW?

The wording on those trinkets might feel a bit confusing as well. They don't increase your crit/haste/mastery by 14% additively, but rather multiplicatively. So lets say you have 10k rating of all those stats. That trinket would increase the stats by 14%, making it a total of 11,4k rating. That is for haste and mastery though, while crit isn't affected in the same way; instead your crit dmg is increased by 14% (again multiplicatively). Same with the healing effect.

It's also the PTR; need to learn to take things with a grain of salt while Blizzard figures out just what it wants to do with the items.

Comment by Elpizo

I was pondering this, & I think I have an idea as to what their 'deal' is. You might have noticed that there's no LFR version right? these weapons, & I'm making a few assumptions, will be a reward obtainable (how we don't know yet) by people who raid Flex/Norm/HC, now, you can near enough gear a fresh 90 in 496 timeless isle stuff, & I assume, if you luck out & obtain a BoA, it'll help with the catch-up with alts, & also it'll be a prestige thing too. In short, if you raid with a guild, as in, organised group doing the content, these are a little extra.

Just a thought.

I just don't play alts anymore. I do want to play them occasionally but with the choice of playing an undergeared character or my main, my main always wins. I think if you're raiding or capping conquest every week on your main and you have them repped up then there needs to be a quicker way to get gear to alts than a silly VP buff. For example in Wrath I PVP'd a ton on my main and sent honor to my alts. My alts could at least start out with a full honor set. It's the same amount of time spent grinding the honor but I could use my main and contribute more to the groups I was in.

Maybe they see a lot of this going on and want to provide a way for people that spend A LOT of time on their mains to gear up a few alts?
