Standard blizzard procedure. They don't rush. It'll most definitely be worth the wait.Um.. Did you play Diablo 3? 'Worth the wait' is NOT a Blizzard guarantee anymore, at all. That being said I have some hope for Titan, albeit Sons of Liberty and Diablo 3 have shaken the faith. I'm hoping that they don't buy into the cliche player complains about wanting pristine character models at the expense of game play..
Diablo 3 was a filler like Halion was for Lich King. Cata didn't have anything... so out came D3.
If this was the pre-Activision Blizzard I might be inclined to agree that there's nothing to worry about. But let's call a spade a spade here - Blizz has had some pretty mediocre products lately. They can't afford a long dev cycle followed by disappointment, they need to really deliver something great. The speculation and rumors around Titan are that it's completely new IP. Does Blizz have the ability to give us something ground breaking? Are they even that company anymore? Have they even produced a successful game outside of the IP they've had for the last 2 decades?
Standard blizzard procedure. They don't rush. It'll most definitely be worth the wait. The most troublesome thing about this is that isn't really standard Blizzard procedure. They aren't "improving", "extending" or anything they use to do.They are halting a project at the middle, and starting it all over again.Like something that went wrong, what was the name again? I think Diablo 3....JUST AFTER they moved Jay Wilson to Titan. Rob Pardo will be kicking himself very "SOON".

For a game to be in development as long as Titan has been (speculatively)... Some of what was next-Gen yesterday during development is now common to Today's standards. My guess would be a lot of the one off MMO's released without the full punch to be as successful as WoW over the years each individually had small incantations of brilliance. And now "whoever" were to release the Next-Gen Super MMO can not pass up on leaving certain things out of their release. Pure speculation though...

Wonder if PS4 and Xbox One has anything to do with it?
They have to put the A Team, which was moved to Titan after WotLK launched, back on WoW to try and salvage it before it's a total loss.

I always love people who follow WOW / Blizzard news so much have to comment how WOW is down the drain or dead, when even with the subscriber loss it's still has far more subscribers then any comparable MMO.
Considering at this rate Blizzard and Activision need a miracle horse to make Titan awesome (if it exist). Consider this When D3 came out it was said the be greater graphic game and a new game engine. It was a rehash of an old game engine and the graphics were par compared to before. No in the Software/game industry if you want to be top dog and a sub mmo. Your Graphics engine better push even the newest not discovered cards because of sheer game play and the game engine has to be something no one would think of before (wow for instance at the beg. and even then the idea was stolen). No till I see even an alpha testing or stills of Titan I'm calling Shenanigans on them. Blizzard has lied to many times in the past for me to believe them.
No till I see even an alpha testing or stills of Titan I'm calling Shenanigans on them. Blizzard has lied to many times in the past for me to believe them.Them lying, and you building on fan-based hype and believing it to be true are not one and the same.Diablo 3, for what it is (and the huge time gap from D2: LoD to D3 was not all dev time), is a great game, that continues to improve over time... JUST LIKE DIABLO 2 DID. How many people can say that D2 was the nostalgia-magnet that it is based on the content BEFORE the expansion? How many even remember playing it pre-LoD? I do, and frankly, wasn't so great. LoD made it way better, as did the usual continuous iterative process Blizzard is known for.Frankly, if they make a game that pushes hardware most people can barely afford, they risk alienating a larger group of gamers, due to them being under a budget. Sorry to say, but that has NEVER been Blizzard's approach... why design for system specs 98% of the playerbase can't hope to see, when the resources can be spent better elsewhere? I'm sorry, but pipe-dream much? The fact they are making technological changes, means that they may have access to a new engine and other features that would prove to be far more useful than to use older tech they started work on. That is good. Would you all have been happy if it looked like a game from 2009, coming out in 2014 or 2015? No, it would cause an absolute storm of unrealistic and negative community outcry. But hey, you could have had that, if they stuck to their guns.Additionally, nobody said that Jay Wilson went to Titan. He could have been moved to Hearthstone, where it would be seen as doing very little damage (reminder: His reassignment was noted before Hearthstone was announced).Seriously... the supposed true gamer community needs to reality check themself. If this was 10 years ago, you wouldn't have a clue about most of this. Why? We didn't get this level of information back then. We didn't get much of anything, barring what announcemkents came out of E3 (which was also an industry-only conference, not the mass-public one it is now). I remember reading about game highlights from E3 or CES in Nintendo Power back in the late 90s. That is what we had. Magazines. Too many people think they are true, die-hard, gamers, that only surfaced in the last 5-6 years. I've been playing Blizzard titles since Warcraft: Orcs & Humans was CURRENT. And wanna know what? The closest to "let down" that I've been, was Cataclysm, due to a relative lack of "things to do", which even they admit was their fault.Relax a bit people and wait to see where it goes. You are assuming the end of the world, based on something we knew NOTHING about. So the fact that this nothing has been changed, means it is now going to be a newer, shinier, nothing for a while long. Oh no, the sky is falling... seriously. If you think it's some move to make it port to consoles too, cause of the released tech for the PS4 and XBox One... given the sheer time it is taking Diablo 3 to port just for PS3, I would sincerely hope that is NOT the case. Make MMOs single-platform, it means you tailor to a specific audience and control scheme. If you wanna do it on PC, just PC then. Wanna do console? Just console then. Even in some cases being console-specific (ie: Dragon Quest X is an MMO exclusive to the Wii/Wii U... I just hope Nintendo announces it coming to North America at E3, cause that will rock).
Wonder if PS4 and Xbox One has anything to do with it?I believe that this is the reason why. The timing, Its too coincidental.
Well, at least they are not going to release some piece of you know what. But I can't imagine that WoW can survive 'till 2016.
focus on making warcraft 4
Um.. Did you play Diablo 3? 'Worth the wait' is NOT a Blizzard guarantee anymore, at all.I never liked Diablo at all, To be honest I only cared about the -craft projects and Blizzard's older games. Graphics engine better push even the newest not discovered cards because of sheer game play and the game engine has to be something no one would think of before (wow for instance at the beg. and even then the idea was stolen). No till I see even an alpha testing or stills of Titan I'm calling Shenanigans on them. Blizzard has lied to many times in the past for me to believe them.Graphics don't really matter compared to gameplay. Here's why I trust them.Starcraft II.Was SCII worth the wait? Yes.
Too many people are saying that WoW is already lost, in my opinion. Relatively, it's not as great as it used to be. It lost subs, it pissed people off, the last expansion was boring as a donkey's backside. But it still has millions of subs. Compare that to other MMOs. Pandaria has actually been slightly redeeming. At least they've refreshed the game with an interesting, interactive lore story, as well as adding some different character models, raid tactics and BG styles- more than Cata the fire-y rehash could say. I don't play as much as I used to, but the real measure to me is;When/if "Titan" is released, there will be a small bit of me that misses WoW, and the characters I've grown to love over the years, and all the time I've poured into collecting, and raiding, and building a guild community.
Have to agree with you ZeroEdgeir. I am so sick an $%^&ing tired of people calling bull&*!@ on everything Blizzard is doing.D3 was like !@#$ running down a drain slowly. But as far as I can tell from comments and articles. D2 was just as bad prior to LoD. (I only played after lod hit), And I am just wondering, but since when did Diablo become a mmorpg? And whats this bull!@#$ about wow can't survive til 2016? Its an endless game and the only *!@# down the drain was Cataclysm, because the lack of things to do as another nice fellow in here stated, and the awful lore and even more important Blizzard came out and admitted that it was the worst expansion. Now they have followed it up with Mist of Pandaria the best expansion so far, Atleast I think so and I know for a fact that I am not alone saying so. The story telling, the huge list of things you can do, say whatever you want. Wow is the best game in its genre ever made. And just look back at Runescape, probably one of the first game of its kind, its still alive, still over 1 millions players playing it. Wow when it came out was more of a flop then, than it is now. Just think back at that... Doing Molten Core for hours, only to see Paladin gear drop on horde side. The endless grind to become High Warlord or whatever its called. The long leveling time, mount at level 40? Seriously, the old hardcores need to get a grip of themself!Back then it was nothing called casual, that resulted in that most of the old raiders and pvpers are now gone from wow as people grow up and many of them establish a family, and the thing is, they still think wow is like vanilla. Have them come back and play for a week and I think that most of them is going to like it and keep playing when they have 1 or 2 hours free from kids, wife or work. They can even raid at a semi hardcore/casual raiding guild if they so wish too.All I am saying, give Blizzard the time and support they need while you prepare to have your mind blown, because Blizzard are the makers of Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft, WoW and countless other games, all of them good, albeit not all of them equally known. If Blizzard gets to make the game they're own way without any EA shenanigans where they release the game long before its ready or like Activision giving out basically the same crap with a different name and we'll have a amazing new mmo in 2016, maybe its a long time to wait, but its Blizzard, Starcraft 2 was worth the wait, why shouldn't Titan be worth it aswell?
