They might be an X pack at sea. WoW had our shipyard up the ship amount to 25. This night have been a glich or a game test.Just looking forward to the new X pack what ever it is.Merlin
Nagas or ethereals would make me extremely happy as playable races. I can't wait to find out!
i am not 100% sure that the silithus story would be the 3rd sundering tbh... i mean, this would be merely creating a new thing akin the well of eternity, which was not counted as sundering 1.0 - we had the war of the ancients #1, dw #2, quite probably there would be... either an expansion about "going in" the old gods story & stuff happening in our world (like pirates, some exploration etc), some more things with the naga (not taking care of them completely); probably some of the greeners left over as well... and then, either in 8.2 or 9.0, we will have that final og escape his prison with sundering #3, we will deal with him, and then well who knows, we will have new fanfic/speculations :p i hope they don't mix together the azshara story with his fall though... i prefer her being as an independent character!i would really like going to a new planet also... besides, i kind of think medivh has some idea of other worlds and what is going on outside azeroth... portals to outer worlds ftw, esp as im a mage main xd
Personally I think we haven't seen the last of Illidan. Next expansion will probably about some of the old gods, maybe even another planet with other old gods like seen in the star-augur Etraeus encounter.
As they try to connect expansion thematically, Argus storyline (and latest audio drama) strongly leads to Light and void Battle.Void migh be represented by Old gods
please Old gods ( N'Zoth)... For class maybe Alleria's Void Hunters or Tinker (fingers crossed)... Maybe a "vampire" human race from Kul' Tiras?
Well I suppose that new storylines will include Jaina and Kul Tiras and maybe one of the raids if not the entry raid (like Highmaul or Emerald Nightmare) will take place on Zandalar. Our favorite trolls could in the meantime worship some old gods or C'traxxi. That would be awesome, we didn't get any new troll raid since MoP.
I Predict Old God's the return of the Black Empire and for some strange reason I don't think Deathwing is really gone. I know we saw him die but the old gods influence was so strong and he just fell into the Maelstrom who resides in the Maelstrom alot of ppl speculate N'zoth and Blizzard loves to bring Ultra raid bosses back from the dead so who knows Also we will find out what Jaina has been up to this entire time and what form our Artifact will take maybe a new way to have traits in our gear or legendaries with a relic system
I think the map of Silithus and Magni's communication tells us everything we need to know."Sands... soaked in pain. Rivers... rivers of blood. Skies aflame. A sword... in the darkness... the wound... burning... Sar...ger...as..."is Sargeras striking his sword through Silithus and into Azeroth herself.
It would be amazing if we get back to Azeroth and everything seems fine. Were on the ship back to SW from Exodar and suddenly Queen Azshara appears on the ship and just wrecks everone. She takes everyones artifact weapons and lets us know she will be giving these weapons to her generals n stuff and we have to fight powerful bosses throughout the next expansion and they are using our weapons and now we have to destroy them with our weapons of light or something.
I'm really hoping to get some old god content, but not immediately. I hope that we progress to a new area of the world where over time, the influence of the old gods start creeping up on us.
I'm not expecting a new class or race. There are already plenty of them. Maybe, just maybe, there might be some race uprades for change (which i still see pointless but somehow beneficial) like troll but Zandalari. I'm still expecting to stay at Azeroth and not a whole void content. It might be a little void-ish coz of old gods and titan-ish like Ulduar but i believe we will be on a seek of some kind of new power and knowladge before the fight with void lords. We may cure Azeroth, talk with her more and gain some strength with her. One thing i am sure, Azeroth will be on the hearth of the new expention.
I personally think and moreover even hope that the story takes us towards Nazjatar, the Naga capital. It would be illogical to go for an enemy such as the Old Gods and similar, when a foe tied to Sargeras is just idling by. + I think the South Seas could've developed (based on order of events) back before MoP, so I'd like to think/hope that now is the time. However, go with 2 birds, 1 stone by getting the story on Nazjatar and eventually going in deeper toward N'Zoth.
After antorus we will have to face the void lords; every expansion has brought us closer to them, and even tho we defeated some of theyre underlings, we have yet to fight the real thing. If an old god can manipulate creatures like Neltharian, the void lords must be a lot more powerfull.Sargeras feared them enough to destroy creation before they could corrupt it.
I'm hoping for an Azshara - South Seas - Old Gods themed expansion, with both Jaina's AND Sylvanas' characters intact or improved. I'm really sick of the "good character corrupted" arc that Blizzard has played so many times, and it would be lovely to see these ladies lead and help their respective factions. I'm also hoping for a new playable race, and with this theme nagas would be a good choice.
I think we're gonna get Old Gods and Void Lords in the future expansions. N'Zoth can be easily combined with naga and Azshara, but I'd hate to see an underwater expansion... Vashj'ir still isn't a place I go after 5 years. But an underwater, or at least very watery expansion is quite likely to be - look at how many swimming mounts we got in Legion...
All speculation for the past months seems to go towards the Void and the South Seas. Would be fine with me. What interests me even more is what kind of mechanical and game play innovations would be in the new expansion. The garrison and classhall systems seems to have a logical flow into player housing. I for one would be very pleased to finally see this happen. The artifacts and upgrade systems, grindy as they were, managed to keep a lot of content repayable and engaging and something similar (like path of titans?) could very well be back.I assume the World Quests system is here to stay, I am very happy with it in any case. So it would need to tie into one of these systems.
Really nice lore speculation and gorgeous job as always by Nobbel87. Can't really wait for BlizzCon to see if we get any hint of any of these theorys being actually in the future expansion!
I think before the obviously void expansion we'll get the Naga exspansion with the the Old Gods end boss (mybe Malestrom). it could be that this will be a like the Draenor story that the end leads to the next Void expansion

This artifact has control over souls and undeath, it is what Kil'jaeden used to create the Lich King.Another questline is taking place on Azeroth, where the player (human only) is finding a grave in Stormwind empty. The grave has a Lordaeron symbol on it and is largely hinted to have been Arthas' grave,Similar to the cutscene with Gul'dan discovering Illidan, there will be a short cutscene that ties the expansions together. The cutscene is still in development, but I have seen the art for it, currently it is planned that you see Kel'thuzad and undead forces, Death Knights etc., approaching the top of Icecrown Citadel, standing in front of Bolvar, Kel'thuzad uses the Soulblade of Sargeras to tear Bolvar's spirit from his body, his body turns to ash and crumbles, the crown falling to the floor. Immediately the Death Knights carry in something, that's covered up in sheets. They lay it on the floor and remove the sheets to reveal Arthas' body. Kel'thuzad puts the crown on Arthas head and uses the Soulblade of Sargeras to summon the soul of Arthas, putting it back into his body. The camera focusses on Arthas face, you can see it twitching and then his eyes spring open, glowing blue, like back when he first became the Lich King. That's where the cinematic ends.Old zones completely changedBorean Tundra: flooded by the Naga, barely any undead thereDragonblight: Dragonflights struggling, losing to the Scourge, undead dragons roam the areaHowling Fjord: old Vrykul and Alliance and Horde bases overtaken by ScourgeGrizzly Hills: wolf cult joined the Scourge, led by ArugalSholazar Basin: Titan-forged that slumbered beneath the land have awakenedZul'Drak: undead Drakkari trolls try to resurrect their Loa, fighting against the ScourgeStorm Peaks: Odyn has moved in to the Terrace of the Makers, Twilight's Hammer wants to resurrect Yogg-SaronIcecrown: the Scourge has fortified their strongholds, more Scourge presence here than everWintergrasp: new world PvP zone, two Ethereal cartels are battling over resources hereCrystalsong Forest: very minor changes, zone remains mainly the same, not a lot of quests will lead hereCurrently 10 new dungeons plannedAzjol-Nerub and Ahn'Kahet revampedAbyssal Maw, Naga dungeon, underwaterGun'drak Palace, not a revamp, completely new wingUtgarde Catacombs, not a revamp, completely new wingThe Lower Kingdom, Caverns of Time dungeon, guide Arthas through Azjol-NerubFrosthold, Scourge dungeon in FrostmawThe Underblight, Scourge dungeon in FrostmawHalls of Ascension, dungeon in Asgard, titan-influencedShubrathyyl, dungeon in Ny'alotha, old god influenceFirst raid is The Black Forest, endboss N'zothSecond raid is a flying necropolis called Xalramas, endboss Death Knight Leonas MenethilLeonas is the son of Calia MenethilSimilar in style to Naxxramas, but completely new designed, new bosses and everythingCaverns of Time battleground: Battle at Icecrown Citadel, help Arthas or help Illidan claim all the obelisksAzshara planned to be the boss of the second raid tierAzshara threw in her lot with the old godsNaga have been on their side for millenia, haven't been loyal to Illidan or the LegionAzshara wanted N'zoth to be her mate, so she will be avenging his deathThird raid tier planned to be a Scourge raid in Frostmaw, endboss not the Lich King, but Kel'thuzadCalia Menethil, Sylvanas and Anduin will be the main characters in RotLKCalia wants to save her son Leonas, who was turned into a Death Knight by Arthas, and put an end to her brotherSylvanas is infuriated that Arthas is back and wants to put him down again and take his power for herselfAnduin torn between peace and revenge for Genn, who was killed by SylvanasA big theme in the expansion will be Anduin, as a new Paladin, trying not to go down the same path as ArthasNew Reputation Factions: Drakkari Trolls, The Nerub'ar, The Frozen Vanguard, Sireth'ka and The Eternals. The Frozen Vanguard are an ancient sect of Death Knights not serving the Lich KingSireth'ka are a group of NagaThe Eternals are a group of Titan-forged from beneath SholazarThe name Return of the Lich King was already trademarked a while ago. Basically Blizzard is trying to focus on lore that people like, that's why they brought Illidan back and since Illidan's return had positive responses, they decided to bring Arthas back, as he is about as popular, if not more than Illidan. The team wanted to revamp Northrend for a long time, it's the teams most favourite content and that of many players as well. The announcement of this will happen soon, so whether you believe me or not, this will soon be made public. Enjoy our trip back to the icy north.
