Method Video<Method>RokmoraNotable Trash Mobs

Rockback Gnasher basilisks occupy the water on the edges of the path toward Rokmora, but can be avoided

If a Rockback Gnasher is pulled accidentally, the tank should be prepared for Bone Chomp damage, and players should interrupt Stone Gaze

Embershard Scorpions deal minor tank damage with Impaling Shard

Vileshard Crawlers create pools of Acid Splatter when they die

Players should move out of Acid Splatter, and tanks should pull remaining mobs away

Vileshard Chunks occasionally cast Crush, dealing heavy damage to players within 10 yards

Ranged DPS and healers should avoid being in melee range to reduce Crush damage

The three Understone Drudges near the broken bridge deal only melee damage

These Drudges can be skipped if players pass through the water after the Vileshard Hulk pack, but this risks pulling a Rockback Gnasher

Tarspitter LurkerSubmerge

Immediately after Submerge, the Lurker will cast Viscid Bile

Players near the Lurker's new position should move away to avoid taking Viscid Bile damage

When the Lurker dies, its corpse explodes into a pool of Rancid Ooze

Players should move out of Rancid Ooze, and tanks should pull any remaining mobs away from the pool

Acid SplatterVileshard HulkPiercing Shards

Piercing Shards is a cone attack that deals heavy up-front damage to players hit by it

The cone range is 45 yards, so players at maximum range are not safe

Players struck by the cone attack will also receive a Piercing Shards DoT, dealing heavy damage each second

Tanks must keep the Vileshard Hulk faced away from the party, and side-step the Piercing Shards cone

Any players who are struck by Piercing Shards should use a damage-reduction cooldown

If multiple targets are struck by a Piercing Shards cast, healers may have trouble keeping all players alive

FracturePiercing ShardsHeroic and Mythic DifficultiesPiercing ShardsRokmora Tips & StrategyRokmoraBlightshard Skitter

The Skitters deal only melee damage while alive, and spawn at random places in the room

Tanks should try to taunt distant Blightshard Skitters so they come closer to the boss for cleave

DPS players should use efficient AoE/cleave abilities to kill nearby Skitters

Choking DustChoking DustShatter

Shatter also instantly destroys any existing Blightshard Skitters

The destroyed Skitters still emit Choking Dust

After Shatter, players should move back into position, but avoid the new pools of Choking Dust

Healers may need to use powerful AoE spells or cooldowns to recover the party's health

ShatterRazor Shards

Razor Shards deals very heavy damage to players standing in front of Rokmora

The spell has a long range so players cannot outrange it by running away from the boss

During the 3.8-second cast time, players should assess which direction Rokmora is facing and move out of the way if necessary

Razor Shards is typically aimed at the tank, so the tank should keep Rokmora faced away from the party

BloodlustHeroismTime Warp

Face Rokmora away from the party so players won't have to move for Razor Shards

When possible, strafe out of Razor Shards, or use a cooldown to mitigate its damage

Tank with your back against the wall so Shatter won't knock you back

Taunt Blightshard Skitters to get them away from ranged players

Move out of Choking Dust clouds

Quickly kill the Blightshard Skitters when they spawn

Move out of Choking Dust clouds

Move to the side or behind Rokmora when he begins casting Razor Shards

Use AoE healing or a raid CD after Shatter

Tank damage will be heavy especially when many Blightshard Skitters are active

Kite any Blightshard Skitters that attack you closer to the tank so they can be taunted

Move out of Choking Dust clouds

Move to the side or behind Rokmora when he begins casting Razor Shards

Heroic & Mythic DifficultyCrystalline Ground

During Crystalline Ground, players who move will take moderate to heavy periodic damage

The Crystalline Ground lasts for 10 seconds

Minimize movement during this time, but still respond to key encounter mechanics like Choking Dust and Razor Shards

Crystalline GroundShatter

Players will take damage during the knockback as well as while running back into position

If Rokmora is tanked facing the wall opposite the shore, the tank and melee DPS can put their backs to the walls just before Shatter and avoid a lot of this damage

Healers should use powerful AoE healing or cooldowns to recover

ShatterRupturing SkitterShatterUlarogg CragshaperFish TossRockbait FisherFish TossNotable Trash MobsBlightshard Shaper's Petrifying TotemUnderstone DrummerWar DrumsDrums of War

Mightstone Breakers will cast Avalanche, combining a cone attack with heavy party AoE

Rockbound Pelters will frequently Retreat and attack random distant targets with Jagged Disc

Take care not to pull extra enemies by chasing the Rockbound Pelters when they Retreat

Stoneclaw Hunters deal moderate damage to nearby players with Stone Shatter, and are accompanied by Rockback Gnasher pets that attack with Bone Chomp

The Hunters will cast Kill Command, triggering the Gnasher to use Stone Gaze, which should be interrupted to avoid the stun effect

Players should kill the Hunter before the Gnasher, because if the Gnasher dies first, the Hunter will resummon it

Blightshard Shaper

Blightshard Shapers attack random targets with Stone Bolt, dealing moderate damage

The Shaper will occasionally summon a Petrifying Totem near a random player

Players have 3 seconds to move away from the Petrifying Totem's location before it fully forms

A fully formed Petrifying Totem is surrounded by a Petrifying Cloud

Players who touch the Petrifying Cloud, even for a moment, will receive the Petrifying Cloud debuff

The debuff gains one stack every second even if the player has moved out of the area, dealing increasing damage

Upon reaching 10 stacks the player becomes Petrified

Petrified players are stunned for 10 seconds

Healers can dispel Petrifying Cloud from affected players, but must act quickly

Burning GeodeScorchUlarogg Cragshaper Tips & StrategyUlarogg Cragshaper

Bellow of the Deeps will summon Bellowing Idols, which deal Falling Debris damage to the entire party

Strike of the Mountain marks a random player and summons stone hands that clasp to deal heavy damage

Sunder deals heavy tank damage

Bellow of the DeepsIn Patch 7.2, more players are targeted by Bellow of the Deeps.Strike of the MountaindiagonallyStance of the Mountain

Ularogg reaches full mana approximately 70 seconds into the fight

Ularogg will burrow underground, removing all DoT effects and debuffs

3 Burrowing Idols will emerge from the ground, one of which - the central one - is Ularogg in disguise

The Burrowing Idols will shift around the arena for several seconds before becoming attackable

While active, the Burrowing Idols will cause Falling Debris

Players must locate the "correct" Burrowing Idol - the one that is Ularogg's disguise - and destroy it in order to leave this phase

Move Ularogg near the Bellowing Idols after each Bellow of the Deeps cast, so players can cleave

Use active mitigation or a cooldown for each Sunder attack

During Stance of the Mountain, there is nothing to tank, so focus on tracking and damaging the correct Bellowing Idol

Move out of Strike of the Mountain by strafing in a diagonal direction

Kill Bellowing Idols with efficient AoE or cleave abilities

During Stance of the Mountain, track the correct Bellowing Idol and quickly kill it

Tanks will need extra healing due to Sunder

Use throughput/damage-reduction cooldowns during Stance of the Mountain phase

Move out of Strike of the Mountain by strafing in a diagonal direction

Heroic & Mythic DifficultyStance of the MountainNaraxasNotable Trash MobsStoneclaw Grubmaster

The Grubmaster afflicts random party members with Leech, dealing moderate damage over time

Nearby players will take moderate damage from Stone Shatter

The Grubmaster will cast Worm Call, summoning a small Tarspitter Grub at a random location

The Tarspitter Grub will begin to channel Metamorphosis

Players should kill the Tarspitter Grub before the channel completes

MetamorphosisRotdrool Grabber

The Rotdrool Grabber spawns several large patches of Rancid Pool all around it

Rancid Pool deals moderate to high periodic damage to players standing in the various patches, making it difficult for melee DPS to attack

Barbed Tongue will target random ranged players and pull them into the pool

The Grabber may melee players it pulls in with Barbed Tongue if the tank is not holding threat

MetamorphosisNaraxas Tips & StrategyNaraxasBloodlustHeroismTime WarpWormspeaker Devout

One Wormspeaker Devout add drops down from each side of the room, behind the party

The Wormspeaker Devouts will cast Fanatic's Sacrifice if they reach Naraxas, allowing Naraxas to devour them

Each Wormspeaker Devout that Naraxas eats will grant her a stack of Ravenous

Kill the Wormspeaker Devouts before they reach Naraxas

The party should use stuns, slows, knockbacks, and other CC on Devouts that get near Naraxas

Rancid Maw

Nearly immediately after the Rancid Maw debuff is applied, pools of toxic bile will form at the targets' feet

Standing in the bile deals periodic Nature damage

Players should generally stay spread out to avoid splashing Rancid Maw damage

Rancid Maw

Players affected by Rancid Maw should drop the puddles so that Devouts will cross them on their way to Naraxas

This will consume the puddle, but make the Devouts much easier to kill without granting Naraxas any Ravenous stacks

Drop Rancid Maw puddles in the middle of the encounter area, behind the party - not on the edges

Toxic RetchToxic RetchSpiked TongueSpiked Tongue

At the end of the Spiked Tongue cast bar, Naraxas will begin Devouring the tank

Devouring deals extremely heavy damage immediately & every second for 5 seconds

If the tank is within approximately 20 yards of Naraxas at any point during the Devouring, Naraxas will lift the tank into her mouth, Devouring the player

While in Naraxas's mouth, the tank is stunned, unable to use any mitigation or self-healing, and out of line of sight of the healer

If this occurs, the tank will very likely die

Rancid MawSpiked Tongue

Run away from Naraxas, avoiding the Rancid Maw puddles on the way out

Make sure that Spiked Tongue drags you over the Rancid Maw puddles as Naraxas draws you back in

Still keep running away from Naraxas to fight the Devouring movement, but being within the Rancid Maw puddle should mean you are in no danger of being Devoured

Use a cooldown to reduce Devouring's damage

This tactic is particularly important for tanks with lower mobility, such as Death Knights

DevouringDevouringFanatic's SacrificeDevouringRavenousPutrid SkiesFrenzyDevouringRancid MawDevouring

Be sure that you are within the healer's LOS while tanking

As Naraxas is casting Spiked Tongue, run toward the back of the room

Use Rancid Maw pools to slow your movement as Spiked Tongue pulls you towards the boss

Use a damage-reduction cooldown to survive the Devouring damage

As Devouring is fading, taunt Naraxas so she does not attack the melee DPS while you get back into position

Save your strongest cooldowns for the Frenzy phase

Melee DPS should try to avoid standing behind the larger rocks near Naraxas, so they remain in LOS of heals

Switch to Wormspeaker Devout adds and kill them before they reach Naraxas

Slow, root, stun, or otherwise CC the Wormspeaker Devout

If targeted by Rancid Maw, drop the Toxic Bile pool in the center of the room

Use personal damage-reduction cooldowns to survive Toxic Retch, and move out of Toxic Bile pools

Use AoE healing or CDs to heal the party through Toxic Retch

The tank will require heavy healing during Spiked Tongue

If targeted by Rancid Maw, drop the Toxic Bile pool in the center of the room

Use personal damage-reduction cooldowns to survive Toxic Retch

If you can remove Poisons, remove Toxic Retch from the tank

Heroic & Mythic DifficultyAngry CrowdHurling RocksHurling RocksHurling RocksBloodlustHeroismTime WarpDargrul the UnderkingNotable Trash MobsEmberhusk Dominator

The Emberhusk Dominator will frequently cast Crystal Spike, dealing moderate damage to 3 players each time it is cast

Crystal Spike will always target ranged (by spec, not location) players

If there are not 3 ranged players in the dungeon party, will target non-tank melee DPS

Ranged players should use defensive cooldowns since they will be struck by Crystal Spike every time

The scorpion on which the Emberhusk Dominator rides will cast Ember Swipe, dealing moderate damage to players in front of it

Tanks should take care to face the scorpions away from other players

Players should stack up behind the scorpion so that healers have an easier time healing through Crystal Spike damage

Occasionally the Emberhusk Dominator will cause its scorpion mount to Hurling Rocks, increasing the damage it deals

Understone DemolisherCharskinColossal Charskin

Before transforming, Demolishers deal only melee damage

After transforming, the Charskin will cast Burning Hatred on a random non-tank player

Burning Hatred acts as a fixate, causing the Charskin to pursue that player and deal heavy melee damage if it reaches its target

Players should stun and slow the Charskin when possible, and prioritize killing it

The Burning Hatred target should kite the Charskin to avoid damage

Rockbound TrapperJagged DiscBoundBoundBoundDargrul the Underking Tips & StrategyDargrulBloodlustHeroismTime WarpLandslideMolten Crash

Landslide causes rocks to erupt from the ground in a straight line in front of the boss

Players standing in the Landslide will take heavy damage and be knocked back

Immediately following the Landslide, Dargrul will attack the tank with Molten Crash

Molten Crash deals moderate damage, and will deal double damage as well as knock the tank back if the tank's Active Mitigation is not active at the time

Tanks should be sure to aim Landslide casts away from the party and any active Crystal Spikes

Then put up a form of Active Mitigation to prevent the additional damage and knockback of Molten Crash

A tank who does not do these things may get knocked back out of healing range, and take near-fatal damage

Tanking with your back against the wall can avoid outranging the healer, but the tank should still endeavor to avoid Molten Crash

Magma SculptorMolten Charskin

Like the Colossal Charskin trash, the Molten Charskin will choose a random target for Burning Hatred

The Molten Charskin will then pursue that target, dealing heavy melee damage if it reaches the player

Additionally, the Molten Charskin is affected by Magma Breaker, so each step it takes deals party-wide damage

Players should stun and kill the Molten Charskin quickly

Crystal SpikesCrystal Spikes

If Landslide passes through a set of Crystal Spikes, the Crystal Spikes will be destroyed

If a Molten Charskin is kited through a set of Crystal Spikes, the Crystal Spikes are destroyed, and the Molten Charskin becomes Crystal Cracked, taking additional damage

The first Molten Charskin will likely be dead when the first Crystal Spikes emerge - especially if the party used Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp

Subsequent Charskins can be kited through existing Crystal Spikes to ensure they die quickly

Most importantly, the Crystal Spikes provide cover against Dargrul's "ultimate" Magma Wave ability

Magma Wave

Dargrul slams the Hammer of Khaz'goroth into the ground three times, dealing moderate damage to all players with each hit

He then rises up for a massive smash that deals near-fatal damage to all players

To avoid this damage, hide behind Crystal Spikes

Healers will likely need to use cooldowns to heal up the players who are slow getting to the Crystal Spikes and take the first tick or two of Magma Wave damage

The final blast of Magma Wave damage will destroy all existing Crystal Spikes

In Patch 7.2, the final blast of Magma Wave will also leave behind a large pool of Lava.

Crystal SpikesCrystal SpikesMagma Wave

Aim Landslide away from the party and any existing Crystal Spikes

Use Active Mitigation abilities to avoid the extra damage and knockback from Molten Crash

Stun or slow the Molten Charskin when it spawns

Hide behind Crystal Spikes during Magma Wave, or use a strong damage-reduction CD to survive its damage

Prioritize killing the Molten Charskin when it is active

If targeted by Burning Hatred, kite the Molten Charskin into a Crystal Spike if available

If no Crystal Spike is available, kite the Molten Charskin as little as possible to reduce Magma Breaker damage

Stun and slow the Molten Charskin when possible

Move out of nearby Crystal Spikes eruptions

Stay near Crystal Spikes and hide behind them during Magma Wave

Tanks will take very heavy damage from Landslide/Molten Crash, especially if they fail the Active Mitigation mechanic

The party may take heavy damage at the start of Magma Wave; use CDs or AoE heals to recover

The Lava Geyser will deal heavy damage to any player standing within its area of effect

Every five seconds, the Geyser will fire two Flame Gout bolts at random non-tank players

The Flame Gout damage is unavoidable

Lava Geyser will persist for the remainder of the encounter, creating ramping damage as the fight goes on

Ragoul is Rabid, causing his attacks to apply a Rabid debuff to their target

Rabid is a Disease, and can be removed by Priests, Monks, and Paladins

The disease does not stack, but overwrites itself, if applied to an already-affected player

About every 17 seconds, Ragoul buffs himself with Eye Gouge

He will leap to up to 3 targets, dealing moderate damage to them and leaving a bleed that lasts until the player is healed to full

Healers should quickly top up the bleeding players to limit Eye Gouge damage

It should also be noted that this dungeon is the location of the hidden skin for protection warrior's artifact.

Comment by 1406157

There doesnt appear to be a way to go back to the start of the dungeon after killing the first boss. Everytime you zone into the instance, or die, it spawns you at the location after the river run in the barrel. From what I could see there is no npc to send you back to the start of the instance, except for the first one after the initial waterfall. But that one is unreachable after killing the first boss for the previous mentioned reason. This is an issue for quests like Essence of Tenacity, which require you to loot something from the first boss (was not mailed to me). For those curious of how this happened, I died while the first boss was killed, released after he died, and was spawned after the river run in the barrel.

Comment by SyCx1

it should also be noted that if any dungeon in this game warrants complete removal, it's this one.

Comment by direpath

Emberhusk Dominator (trash right before last boss) cast Crystal Spike which does damage to three players. We have found that you can negate this damage by standing at very close range to the boss. We had the group (aside from the tank) position directly behind the scorpion's tail and they took no damage from this attack.

So it appears to not target ranged specs, but people outside a certain range.

Save your healer some hassle and stack behind those scorpions.

Comment by Hakurenn

on naraxas' spiked tongue u can run into a corner and negate the ability entirely, this corner is a small hill on the left of the boss(the bosses right) if u wedge in that then you do not have to do anything

Comment by Knitten

Rockbound Trappers deal heavy tank damage with Jagged Disc.

Best as I can tell from logs, Jagged Disc can target anybody.

You might wish to add that the fish toss is a vital component of Got to Ketchum All, because you'll have to knock one of the snails off a mushroom with the fish in order to slam it at the bottom. :)

OK I'm dumb, I will admit that right now. There are some terms I'm just not understanding and I've seen them in game and here. Is there a list for what certain terms mean. For example what does Kite mean? I keep getting told to 'kite' something and I just don't know what it means. And I feel really stupid for NOT knowing.

Could someone message me a list of stuff like this please?
