These mounts cannot be crafted by NPCs in your Garrison if you chose The Tannery Level 3 or Tailoring Emporium Level 3 but do not have the professions yourself.

These mounts require level 700 in their respective skills to learn but only level 300 to ride. This means lower level leatherworking or tailoring alts can use these mounts.

They do continue to count towards your mount total if you decide to unlearn the profession after learning the mount, but cannot be mounted.

Each recipe costs 5 Secret of Draenor Tailoring or 5 Secret of Draenor Leatherworking respectively. You can only create one of these Secrets per day, meaning that it will take at least 5 days to purchase the mount recipe.

Burnished Leather and Hexweave Cloth are both soulbound items with 24 cooldowns on their crafting spells. Each cast generates a stack of 10, totaling 10 required casts for the mount recipe.

Riding Harness raw material totals: 200 Raw Beast Hide, 100 Gorgrond Flytrap, and 20 Sorcerous Air.

Creeping Carpet raw material totals: 200 Sumptuous Fur, 100 Gorgrond Flytrap, and 20 Sorcerous Air.

Solar Spirehawk is a rare drop from the world boss Rukhmar in Spires of Arak.

Ironhoof Destroyer is a 1% drop from Mythic Blackhand in Blackrock Foundry (1 drop per kill).

Felsteel Annihilator is a 1% drop from Mythic Archimonde in Hellfire Citadel (1 drop per kill).

~~Reins of the Grove Warden~~ (Removed in Legion) Defeating Archimonde on Heroic difficulty or higher formerly rewarded players with a Remnant of Chaos that began a quest Shadow of the Defiler which led to the mount.

Miscellaneous Mounts (6)

Grinning Reaver is the 9th Blizzard Store mount to be added to the game. Cost: $25.

Mystic Runesaber is the 10th Blizzard Store mount to be added to the game. Cost: $25.

Cindermane Charger is one of 5 Recruit-a-Friend mount rewards.

Voidtalon of the Dark Star is found in one of several rarespawn portals that appear across Draenor zones.

Reins of the Infinite Timereaver is a rare random drop from any Timewalking boss.

Minion of Grumpus is a rare find in Savage Gift, which can be obtained by doing dailies during Feast of Winter Veil (December 15, 2025 - January 2, 2026)

This may seem like a blizzard horde favor vs alliance question (I'm just very curious) but why is the horde rep mount Swift Frostwolf an epic mount but the alliance rep mount Dusty Rockhide a plain 'ol blue? Unless the epic mount for the alliance hasn't been released in beta yet?

Thanks so much for this! I'll be checking this frequently as I try to get the next rank of mount achieves, especially since the author of my current favorite 300 mount guide (which is on the list at the side of the page by the way) no longer plays and updates rarely. Very nice layout and info on how to obtain. Looking forward to capturing/taming new mounts :)

Edit: can you clarify on the world-drop mounts, as you made certain to specify the 7th was a 100% drop that must be rolled for, I assume the 1st 6 are personal loot, but not a 100% chance? (Like huolon, anyone who tags get loot and has a chance to get the mount, but its not 100% drop?)

PS - glad to see the other guide will be kept up to date as well

Any clues where to get Voidtalon of the Dark Star? Edit: people are starting to find the portal where this mount comes from, info on the voidtalon page.

Please correct your statement on the horde chopper. It wasn't to only log on a horde character to claim for the mount, just only horde can use it. Alliance players can get it when they logged in during the time span.

I have 211 mounts, including the new chopper bike mount. Now if I create a level 90 toon horde and bought all the vendor mounts, will that count towards my total? I noticed I could still buy some on my 55 dk horde - tested out the chopper - but wanted to see if it would matter or would it just count as the faction on the alliance side?

Brilliant guide!

If I could just point out one thing that I *think* may need to be changed:

In the rare mount section, I believe instead of Great Greytusk dropping from Gorok the Cleaver (who is humanoid), that it should actually show as dropping from Gorok (a beast).

I've killed Gorok twice now in beta (he did drop the mount) and he is a rare boar simply named "Gorok". The mob looks just like the mount.

This might be a simple question, but I have not been able to find any information through Google. Is there going to be a charge for WoD riding skill? Considering we aren't going to be flying, will they still charge us a fee to mount up in Outlands this go 'round?

This is a great guide, however, can someone confirm if the 7 new rare spawns in WoD are lootable regardless of which faction tags it?

For example, I am Alliance, but if a Horde tags Poundfist and I hit it will I still be able to loot?

I'm a little confused about the stable mounts/mounts in training. I just did the first quest and didn't get a follow up. Are these dailies? Could you explain a bit more about the Garrison quest chains? I see a Trained Silverpelt in my Mount book. When does it get in there? Do you get it as a reward in your bags and then you learn it?

I do not see why Warlord's Deathwheel is on the list, being a Reward from Pandaland expansion.
And also Time to upgrade it for including the Purple Cat store mount.

Very well done guide, thank you.

One correction: "You will only receive one starter quest for a new mount each day..." Actually the followup quests are available a few hours after you complete the one prior to it. The initial quests - lasso a talbuk • clefthoof • boar • riverbeast • elekk • wolf - are triggered not by the daily reset but by completion of the prior quest and become available a few hours later. All six can be completed on the same day if you're so inclined.

There were only 19 new mounts added in 6.2, not 20. And this guide only covers 17. You left out Mudback Riverbeast from the Naval Mission It's a Boat, It's a Plane, It's... Just a Riverbeast. and Coalfist Gronnling from the Garrison Mission Breaker Two.

Terrabad. All I wanted to see was what the new mounts were in 6.2, so I clicked this link only to see no information on my question but about 1000 other answers, irrelevant to my question. Wowhead is going downhill so fast. I don't need a "guide", that's why I have used wowhead for over 8 years. It's supposed to be a database. All I need to know is what the NEW mounts are. I am not interested in guide to collecting mounts. I have 200 mounts and I know which I don't need.

Just want to add that beginning with WOD Riding Turtle can be obtained with a level 3 Fishing Shack by fishing in your Garrison. The mount ~~can be fished up directly or it~~ can be a drop from Lunarfall/Frostdeep Cavedweller, which is spawned by Lunarfall Carp/Frostdeep Minnow that is fished up in your Garrison. This mount previously was only available as a TCG mount and on BMAH.

Edit: so sorry, I misread some comments elsewhere, this mount cannot be fished up directly.

How to easily collect every race-specific mount within an hour:

With the introduction of Legion Class Trials you can now instantly get to play a lvl 100 character, with 10 gold and (yes, this is really dumb) free access to a mail box and a Hearthstone/Garrison Hearthstone.

This effectively means that you can in about 1 minute create a new level 100 character, cast your Garrison Hearthstone to your new garrison, take a portal to Ashran, and from there to the faction city of your choice only to proceed to navigate to the equivalent starting zone of your class.

Make sure to first send yourself approximately 40-50g before doing this, as you only get 10g from starting off.

Do note that you don't have to go through the actual class trial, just use your Garrison Hearthstone the first thing you do, and proceed to collect some faction mounts!

I finally decided to go for the Draenor rep mounts, and bought the Frostwolf and the Domesticated Razorback. Before this grind, I was on 345 mounts and with these I am still on 345.

So they either removed atleast those two from the achievement counter, or they didnt count for the achievement in the first place

Hey all. So, I just killed Gorok on a low pop server using a class trial toon @ 63.40 79.40 and it didnt give me the option to loot him. It was just a kill. Am I missing something? Can we not loot with class trials? I've killed over rares around and received loot but nothing from Gorok. I've been flying around for over an hour and am very disappointed about this lol.

**Update** - I submitted a ticket and was told by a GM that Class Trials are not eligible for mount drops from rares.
