Wow i didnt think those portal stones could be grown. Now if only they added more pets that could be grown or obtained through farming

Kinda odd that all four spirits have the same names for their abilities. I'd assume they have different names at least. Fire spirit cast Water Jet!
I'm thinking the shards are a little pointless, seeing as you can fly to the Shrine really quickly.What I am finding interesting, is that they seem to be doing with this ranch a lot of things that they said they would never implement housing in order to avoid. I believe you can collect mail at your ranch, and now you can port to main cities from it, which are two main reasons for going to town. It's an instanced area that is unique to each player, and you get various cosmetic upgrades including pets and furniture. They have added a lot of ground clutter and vanity items this expac, and I have noticed that for many many quests they phase in very small changes in scenery when you turn them in (barrels appear next to the quest giver, or tablets appear in the cart, etc.) It makes me wonder if they're playing with the idea of housing, and the various technologies they'd need to implement it.
I don't know about everyone else, but my farm plots are way too important to waste one growing a portal that essentially saves me 2-3 minutes of flight. Not only that, but it's random what portal you get, and "one-time use"!It's kinda funny too, because essentially this seems ideal only for the very impatient... but if they work like seeds you have to wait until the next day to use it anyway!What would be cool, and kinda make it worth it, is if the portals were permanent so long as you left the shard there. To get rid of the portal, you would have to use the shovel and dig up the shard.
Useless item... what if one wants to go to SW or IF and gets Dal or Darn?
Leave it to Blizzard to take something that sounds awesome and bog it down with so many restrictions that it ends up sucking. I can't see any possible reason someone would want to waste a plot of their garden on a portal shard.
they should just make a shard that ports you to the portal room in your factions portal capital, then its more consitant and takes up less bag space. OR even better make the shards port you to areas of pandaria that you could use in your faction cities. ATM its a little stupid to have to run to org to get a portal to the jade forest to then fly to dread wastes ect, that or hearth but portals and hearths should have different purposes IMO.
I really dont need these shards i have all the previous expansions trinkets or necklaces to get around as I need and now with portals in Vale its easier to just make that my home.
