Actually, it seems more like a reference to the Willy Wonka candy: Nerds. The fluff text and the icon seem to resemble or allude to the candy.

In terms of actually getting the achievement sitting on defense in AV proved best for me.

You get the G.N.E.R.D.S required for this achievement from candy buckets located in inns throughout the world.

You can only loot each bucket once per year.
~~The G.N.E.R.D.S have a very short duration, they only last for one day.~~ This was hotfixed, they now have a 14 day duration.
The buff doesn't last through death.

Very very easy to get as a horde, just get some GNERDS ( I used 5 ) , head to SM with some friends and start to pvp. Quick 'n' easy.

Get the buff and wait in Southshore. There's lots of PvP action to be had there. I got about 8 HK off one buff easily, and since there's lots of alliance turning in quests and only a few horde doing the stink bomb quest it is mostly easy pickings.

Got all HK's as zerging frost mage in EotS in 1 G.N.E.R.D buff. Make sure to bring a zerg so you can fall back and chicken out if things get too hot ^^

I found Eye of the Storm was fairly useful in getting this achievement, fighting a little ways back (as a ranged DPS class) in the center. Just remember to pop another one when you res, and you can easily get this in a single battleground.

If you don't mind this you can be somewhat jerkish to nearly ensure this occurs in AV.

Essentially, by yourself or some friends make sure the opposing side gets no graveyard captures. It is easier to hide and wait until they began getting your relief huts. Then capture all the graveyards between your base and theirs.

This will force them back to their relief hut at their base. This forces a full team vs team battle entirely within their base.

Doing this I got 50 kills within a matter of minutes.

Had to use 3 candies to get the achievement as an arms warrior, the action near Van in AV made it pretty easy, I suggest to follow the zerg and you'll get it in no time.

Go into AV with at least 10. Run to where all the action is. if your class is able to. cast a buff(AB, GotW, Fort, Battle/commanding shout) or throw up hots/dots on any and all targets you see

hots: anything that you hotted that gets a kill(say you hot 3 warriors) gets you honor for each of their kills(they each get 1 kill. you get honor for 3 kills and credit for 3 kills)

dots: well they have to die

Be warned: if your game crashes due to an error, there is potential for GNERDS kills made in that session to disappear. I lost three the other day because WoW crashed on a memory error. There's nothing that Blizz GM's will do about this either.

You can do this achievement fairly easily using only one G.N.E.R.D.
This strategy, however, requires you to have a flying mount.
Since patch 3.2 allows flying in Wintergrasp (to an extent) you can fly in before the battle, find a safe spot in the middle of the chaos, wait for the battle to start, and get your HKs without having to die. I prefer to stand on top of one of the large pillars near the gate.

One GNERDS + manning the Wintergrasp cannon (on Alliance toon, I manned the Eastern wall) + 10 minutes = GNERD Rage Achievement. Literally, it just took one GNERDS.

Now you have to kill 10 down from 100 I think. I tried AB. Too few kills and a much smaller raid. Getting one, then another kill. Too slow. So I tried AV. MUCH bigger raids and many more enemy targets. 10 seconds later, boom done. Got 6 kills in 10 seconds as opposed to 4 in 20 minutes.

Easily achieveable in WOTLK.
Go to an inn, get the bucket, and get the item.

Sign up for wintergrasp, put it on and stay back.
I got it in one offensive match of WG.

One Isle of Conquest battle, managed to get all 50 of the HK's I needed, with only 2 deaths in the process, one of which coming after I'd gotten the achievement.
Doesn't hurt that we won.

Easiest way to get this is slip on some healer gear, eat a little candy and hit up you local Wintergrasp. I got the achievement in the first battle no sweat.

easiest Hallows End achievable to get so long as you can go into battlegrounds and a good pun.

Alterac Valley is probably the best. i got it on the first try there. Arathi Basin: not so good cuz the battles are shorter in length

I had one HK from world PvP, then I entered an AV. By the end of AV, I had around 30 HKs, but only 10 of them counted toward my total. I don't know if this is a bug, or if only 10 HKs per BG count toward the achievement.

Did this today - had 6 on me went into a random battlegroud - i ended up with AB and by the end of 6 i had the acheivement!

very easy - i would suggest a few more, i think i was just lucky!

G.N.E.R.D.S appear to be bugged this year in that you cannot actually eat them. I figured I would try it in Tol Barad, but eating them does nothing at all, including not even use up one of the stack of 5 that i bought. In fact, none of the candies can be eaten inside Tol Barad, and there is no message to say that I cannot use it.

I signed up for a random BG and was able to eat the GNERDs while in it. Which was good for me as i'd never done a BG before and didn't have a clue what was going on or what to do so died pretty quickly.

Can't tell you the name of it though because I was quickly trying to learn what to do and stay alive. I can tell you it was not Tol Barad.
I was racking up other achievements when I realised (duhhh) the buff was gone due to dying. So I ate more and after what seemed like a couple of minutes I had the achievement.

And to think I was worried about this one because I suck at pvp.

Much easier then it was last year. Last year you needed 50. This year you only needed 10. Got it in one BG.

One thing to keep in mind, especially when you're close to the end and the only thing you need is the 10 HKs.

Warsong Gulch has always been glitched, starting in 2004, when the first version of the game was released. It had its moments and it still has its moments, particularly when the other side isn't paying attention, but it is still massively glitched, to the point where I believe that Blizz has some other kind of agenda about WSG. Or they are just completely indifferent.

I went into WSG to get my 10 HKs because I know it better than any other BG. I've been in there over 1,000 times with every class except a Shaman. I know every pixel of the place. I needed 10HKs. Had the GNERD buff up (started with 37 of them) at all times on a hot button. In 19 minutes of mass killing, I got credit for 2 kills (I personally killed 3 of the other side myself) and my team must have gotten about 45 or 50 HKs. That's right, I got credit for 2. Good thing I wasn't in Irvine or it would have looked like Kandahar on a bad evening.

We lost that battle but so what. Went into the Isle of Whatever (I'm so angry I can't remember much) and I got the remaining 8 HKs in about 3 minutes.

This is not reasonable in any way, from the designers' standpoint. Maybe their attorneys should craft a disclaimer. At least do something. Anything.

I did get the achievement but I want that time back. Design me a way to get that back and I'm on your team forever, but none of this vampire stuff. Just make it happen.

This is very easy as a healer if you are not a PVP'er. I got this in one Battle for Gilneas just by going as a healer and stacking at an attack point with the team and healing my butt off. If you--like me-- are not a pvp'er and have a healing spec, I'd recommend going as heal support.

Dorothy, who stands on the right side of the Apple Bop, is selling 5 G.N.E.R.Ds for 2 Tricky Treats.

Alterac Valley was definitely a good choice for me. I am terrible at PVP - but I went in with 23 GNERDS and just followed everyone and helped attack everything they were attacking. After 2 battles, I had 16 GNERDS and the achievement.

So, if you someone you killed while you were under the buff, kills you later on while they have the G.N.E.R.D. buff, would that make it Revenge of the G.N.E.R.D.s? (I realize its a bad reference joke, go ahead and downvote it...)
