This book/story explains how Illidan became the way he is,a corrupt Night Elf Druid.It also explains how Malfurion Stormrage got trapped in the Emerald Dream.I'm sure you know all this by now,seeing as you have probably read the book above...

The book can be found in several places in SM Library. I found it on the floor in one of the rooms with all the benches that have books on them.

This book can also be found in Darnassus at 56, 4. Ground level, to the immediate left as you enter the building sitting on top of a small table.

Also can be found in Stormwind park. On the side of the well opposite to druid trainers, there is small table with book.

This and the other books were removed from SM and Scholomance when the dungeons were revised. This is going to be hard for a Horde player to get to if Bliz doesn't change something. A different book, The Invasion of Draenor, had only been in Scholomance, ~~so it's completely gone now~~. ~~Hopefully that will put more pressure on them to fix it.~~ The Invasion of Draenor was put back in the dungeon, but the other removed books (including this one) weren't. *sigh* (Thanks AeronPeryton)

In Darnassus, this book is a closed, green-covered book sitting on a table at the entrance to the building it is in. Looking at the building head-on, to the left of the two guards at the doorway.

For Horde this isn't too bad to get the one in Stormwind. Land in the library court yard 83.30 , 27.12 and make a run straight into the building to the table at the back, click the book then run like hell. If you jump into the lake and swim a bit you can drop the guard aggro and mount up to make your escape. Also the war of the ancients another book for well read is right next to it.

Not sure if it's me or if something has changed but this book is not in the Stormwind Library for me. I went there and the only books on the large table are The Battle of Grim Batol, War of the Spider, and The Dark Portal and the Fall of Stormwind. I cannot find this book in Stormwind as of this date. I'm a Horde character level 103

Just found this in new Dalaran, by the herbalism trainer Kuhuine Tenderstride on a box (coord. 43.40 34.10).
It was a readable soulbound item and disappeared upon pickup.

Forget about the well read achievement if you are horde. Blizzard purposely hid it behind a wall, because this book is impossible to get as horde. They removed it from Scarlet monastery and the guards at Darnassus and Stormwind will one shot you before you can click anything. Not sure whose genius idea it was at blizzard to screw over an entire faction out of getting an achievement, but this is an epic fail.
