Warp Splinter
The Botanica Commander Sarannis High Botanist Freywinn Thorngrin the Tender Laj Warp Splinter Warp Splinter, a large Ancient of War, is the fifth boss in The Botanica. Abilities Spawn Treants - spawn 6 Sapling (~3000hp) under the trees around the area which slowly move toward Warp Splinter. They will despawn after roughly 20 seconds and heal the boss for the total remaining health of the treants that are still alive (~1/4 of his HP maximum). He uses this ability approximately every 45 seconds after the first cast. (Spell #34716) - 1000-2500 physical damage, 25 yard range AoE stun increasing damage taken by 550 - lasts 5 seconds. (Spell #39133) - ~1500-2200 total arcane volley attack that hits all targets with 3-5 bolts. Strategy The strategy for this encounter depends on how DPS-centric your group is. You may wish to put all damage on Warp Splinter and ignore the treants completely if you have heavy DPS. However, if your group is a bit lighter on dps, you may wish to switch off Warp Splinter and attack the treants when they spawn. One of the main points of this fight is the War Stomp. If the healer is caught in this wide-area ability, it can spell disaster for your tank. All ranged classes and healers need to be at max range for this fight to avoid taking a War Stomp. Regardless of your group, pulling Warp Splinter to the front of the room can prove beneficial, as the treants will move closer together by the time they get to your group, making it easier to use fear bombs or Area of Effect (AoE) damage.
