In here there's a room that has items that relate to classic, TBC, WOTLK, Cata, MOP, WOD, Legion, BFA, SL, and DF. There is also another one that seems to relate to the void...

According to the Wowhead Quick Facts, this entry for the Karazhan Catacombs appears to be the scenario-type area that was added in BFA as part of the quest chain that sends players looking for Wrathion. Players go through the Catacombs Entrance as part of an objective for On the Trail of the Black Prince. They can exit out again using the Exit to Deadwind Pass at any time.

The entire area was altered at some point between BFA and the end of SL, causing the the objects for the quest listed above (The Ways of the Old Gods, Bolt of Embroidered Cloth, Wrathion's Journal Page) to show that they were added in 9.2 instead of 8.2. The Burnt Journal Page that can be found in the Catacombs and the Chamber of Heart Waygate that opens at the end of the quest line, also show that they were added during 9.2 instead of 8.2. The items that are looted out of these objects still show the same implementation dates, so it's probable that the objects were just slightly moved to accommodate content updates.

Although there is a lot of water in here, if players try to fish they will receive an error that reads: "There aren't any fish here".

Towards the "end" of the scenario players can find the Hastily-Scrawled Note and the Potion of Mental Clarity that advance the quest chain. After accepting Save Ebonhorn, the Chamber of Heart Waygate will appear and allow players to travel directly out of the Catacombs and back to the Chamber of Heart.
