Mists of Pandaria: Starting Your Legendary

There's a new legendary quest series in Mists of Pandaria and anyone that's 90 can begin working on it. Multiple people in your raid can work on it at the same time, and it can even be completed in LFR. We'll show you what you need to get started this week.
A few things set this apart from past legendaries:
All players in a raid can work on the legendary questline at the same time.
Legendaries are for everyone. Players complete quests for legendary gems, which are then socketed into Sha-Touched weapons from raids. There are nine weapons classified as Sha-Touched, covering all possible specs.
With this system, guild are only limited by the number of Sha-Touched weapons they see each week.
Legendary gems can be placed into weapons from LFR. Quest items can also be looted in LFR.
This legendary series will span the expansion, with more elaborate rewards each tier.
The reward for this first tier is an epic weapon with a legendary gem, not an actual legendary weapon.

Mists of Pandaria: Reputation Quick Facts (Updated for 5.4)
This guide provides quick facts for every Mists of Pandaria faction: where their quartermaster is located, how to gain reputation, and rewards. You can visit Wowhead's faction pages for more information, as well as our reputation guides, which have been updated for 5.4.
Eight factions originally shipped with Mists of Pandaria: four have epic gear rewards, while the other four have quirky vanity items. All have epic mounts and detailed tabards as Exalted rewards.
In later patches, two factions have been added for the Alliance and Horde (four total), as well as a raid-related faction and Timbermaw-style reputation grind.
Reputations are a bit different to grind in Mists of Pandaria--the old system of equipping a tabard and farming dungeons has been removed. Tabards only serve vanity purposes now and reputation is gained by doing daily quests. Each faction has a compelling story behind it and the daily quests are interesting and varied, such as completing a racecourse on a cloud serpent.

Brewfest (Sept. 27th to Oct. 13th) Guide
Celebrated by both the Horde and the Alliance, the Brewfest is a time to enjoy the fermented fruits of the harvest: pretzels, cheese, and booze! The competing breweries Thunderbrew, Barleybrew, and the Ogres, all come together outside of all the major cities in a bid to outdo each other with their special ales, meads, and beers. Brave adventurers are invited to sit back, take a pull, and sample the finest wares these brewers have to offer!

We also want to address some of the anomalies you may be experiencing, including some recent bugs that we’ve hotfixed, or are currently investigating.<br/><br/><strong>Cross-Realm Zones 101</strong><br/><br/>Cross-realm zones are a new technology that allows players in underpopulated areas of the world to meet, group up, and adventure with players from other realms. Cross-realm zones allow players to form a group with other players from within a select pool of realms in order to quest just like they normally would, while still allowing the social structures of their home realms to remain intact. So, what happens at midnight for those of us with Mists ready to go?
A yellow System Message will appear in your Chat Log telling you to visit Orgrimmar or Stormwind to start your travels. Level-85 characters will receive a new quest, no matter where they are in the world, which will guide them to Varian or Garrosh for further orders. If you’re online at midnight you will receive the quest even if your Quest Log is full -- or you can visit Varian or Garrosh to get started on your

It asks you whether you want a Horde or Alliance shirt, and then you get the item. It's possible to get both shirts.

"Appear Offline" Option Coming Soon to Battle.net
In the coming months, we're planning an update to Battle.net that will give you more control over your online presence when playing Blizzard games. Soon, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, and Diablo III players will be able to select "Appear Offline" as one of their Battle.net social-status options (along with Available, Busy, and Away) for those times when they want to wander Azeroth by their lonesome, dominate the galaxy in radio silence, or slay demons in solitude. When you choose this option as your status, all of your Real ID friends, BattleTag friends, and character-level friends will see you as “Offline” in their friends list whenever you’re logged into a game.
The “Appear Offline” status option will be added to World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, and Diablo III separately in future updates for each game. For Diablo III, we expect to add the feature in a patch after 1.0.5. For World of Warcraft and StarCraft II, we expect to add the option sometime after the release of each game’s upcoming expansion.

. While not a full-blown holiday, Pirates' Day still brings the grog and its very own achievement for the one day it comes to Azeroth.
While you can get the buff from pirates throughout the faction cities, the main festivities take place in Booty Bay; here players will find pirates celebrating on top the roof of the Booty Bay bank. Once you've arrived, speak to the
Dread Captain DeMeza
and share a festive drink. She will grant you the
Dread Corsair
buff, giving you a sweet pirate costume of whatever race your character is which lasts 12 hours! This buff will stay on while mounted, in combat, and even persists through death--unless, of course, you're a druid and you like to shapeshift.
Obtaining this buff will also earn you one achievement:
The Captain's Booty
. Since it can only be obtained in this 24 hour window, it's one of the rarer achieveme

September 18th Hotfixes, Battle Chest Updates, Mists of Pandaria Profession Overview
Some people have been asking about this and

There's also been some hotfixes--Theramore's Fall got buffed--and a profession overview under the cut. Of note is that the source for
