I am leveling Inscription now. I think the Contracts for the different houses will be in strong demand, and will sell fast. Also leveling extra rogues for the weekly quest they get. Hope that it stays after BFA releases.
The big question is if Blizzard will continue the support for the AH-API as BFA is coming. As many noticed the API was down for almost a month after the new patch(7.3.5), sure it's been down for a longer time before, but Blizzard has not been transparent if/when/what.Sadly the AH-API is not a part of WOW, it's not game-breaking and can be removed at any time. It's all up to the developers. @devs
I was saving up gold for the last year and slowing buying tokens to add to my bnet balance in anticipation of a pet/mount sale in the Blizzard shop. And this past x-mas, it finally arrived. I had previously gotten nearly all the pets that had been previously on the 50% sale in the past, so this time around it was time to snap up the mounts. In the end, I had all the pets and mounts in the shop except for the most recent color changing cat pet and matching cat mount, so I'll get those next time the 50% off sale roles around. The next goal is to get the digital deluxe copy of BfA and the Legion deluxe pet/mount.
Hey guys, there's a broken tag for Imp in a Ball towards the end of the Spending your gold section. Edit: Fixed now, thanks!
I've reset a couple of the smaller markets on my low pop server a couple times. The trick is to reset it higher but not so high that other players think it would be profitable to get into.
I have to say the webtool on my desktop is a nice addition. I can see myself using this a LOT!Thanks for this!I do sometimes get an error saying "The page you're viewing is not yet available on the new World of Warcraft website. Sorry for the inconvenience!" Any idea what causes this?EDIT: I just took a look at the Chrome Console and I see this:
Market resets are complicated. My server used to be very small and backwards, but now it's somewhere middling thanks to getting into a cluster. I keep a stable of alts on the largest EU one for economy comparison though, and to shuffle across pets, usually for humongous profits: on my middling cluster, I can often buy rare pets that sell for much more on the other side due to bigger market, and there I can usually buy some that are cheap there, but more expensive on the cluster. This helped me to pump gold both ways and keep myself liquid on both sides.I found resetting completely impossible on the large server. There's people there that got fortunes that dwarf mine, and there's nothing I can do. I even found a gal lording over linen cloth, and she was so heavy she simply bought me out, wishing me a good day, congratulating on diligence and idea, but making it clear she won't relinquish her hold. If there was anything scary, is that I tossed 100k at a seemingly abandoned and disorderly market, reposted for 120k in neat, big stacks and still got bought out in full, with her adding my entire stock to hers. She could just repost, whisper, all the hijinks you normally hear about, but... no. She just cleared me out, giving me my expected profit, and even saying what her CoD price is and encouraging me to just send directly to her, regardless if I farm or clean the AH when she's away. Really, really scary display of goblinity. On the smaller server... the situation has what I describe as windows of opportunity. There are, apparently, few people actively posting, since the markets are shallow and turnovers are small, but there are people watching... and the second I touch and try to nudge some niche or other, once the prices start looking appetizing, all of a sudden I get tons of competition seemingly from nowhere... I spoke to another goblin I tend to meet at times, and they actually admitted to having a guildbank store of stock they normally just keep idle, waiting for situations when someone else resets and makes that particular stock profitable to list.
Yup... back in Cataclysm I tried bringing up the prices on all the gems but I didn't touch the ore and there was just too much supply and not nearly enough demand. Major problem was someone posting massive amounts of gems at 3.x vendor prices or lower. So if anyone needs any gems I've got two guild bank tabs full! ;D
For me, the most recent Big purchase I've made was the Yak vendor mount, mostly for the convienence and the achievement (and to up my mount total by one).Admittedly, this was largely thanks in part to an army of alts farming class hall gold missions, two of which use Meatball for some easy 200% clears.
i would spend my gold on mounts and toys so i can get those achievements. I also spend it on seals and raid repair costs. I also would help out my guilod stock pile on flasks, pots, and food. Have to help support our raid progression after all!
I enjoy these articles and look forward to them every week. I find it all very fascinating. I do have a question tho, what is the deal with posting stackable items one unit at a time? As someone who is a customer this is very frustrating if I need to buy lots of something and I have on many occasions purchased larger stacks even if the per unit cost were higher on larger stacks than on smaller stacks. I guess another question would be, at what point does customer convenice become important? I know that economists are starting to think in terms of convenience being more important than price in some cases for real life econmics, just wondering how that translates to WoW.
