Hey guys, first post here but thought I'd share something with y'all that I have been doing for a long time now to make my gold.
So as the title says, I make all my money from PICKPOCKETING. I farm
Heavy Junkbox for people wanting title. Most people farm LBRS but there's a much, MUCH faster way to get them. I can easily make 200k+ a day of farming with my method.
You will need a rogue for this. DON'T WORRY IF YOU DON'T HAVE A ROGUE! You can make a level 100 trial rogue and farm this and it will work equally as well as a level 110.
Create the trial rogue and skip all the intro stuff, skip dalaran, do not get your artifact and do not level the rogue.Once you do all these steps, your trial rogue will last 8 hours of /played time until the character gets locked. So make sure you mail all of your boxes before then, delete the character and repeat. Teleport to your home city and head to the Burning Steppes
So off to the farm, to speed up the process we will need the following macro:
showtooltip Pick Pocket
/cast pick pocket
/cleartarget
For the addon portion we will only need 1:
Xloot (This is so you don't have to loot all the pickpocketing junk to save space in your bags)
TSM is completely optional, but it allows you to quickly send all of your junkboxes using the "Quick send" tab.
For setting up the Xloot auto loot, type /xloot in game:
- Scroll down to "Auto-Looting"
- Turn "Auto Loot Currency" to Always
- Turn "Auto Loot Listed items" to Always
- Input "Heavy Junkbox" into "Items to Loot"
- Click Okay, you can change additional settings as you like. I keep loot quest and loot trade goods to always.
The farm: In the Burning Steppes just east of Blackrock Stronghold there are 4 packs of mobs that come in a 5x5 pattern and some extra mobs on the sides as well as some patrollers. These are the mobs that we will be focusing on for this farm. There are 4 packs of 5x5 mobs in the area. One is hidden behind a small mountain, if you do not pickpocket them and kill them it will slow your farming down dramatically and you'll have to wait for their timer respawn.
Using the macro and addon above will ensure the most efficient farming that I've been able to create.
The mobs in the 5x5 grid, you want to stealth into the middle so you can stay in 1 spot while pickpocketing all of them.Once you've pickpocketed all of them use an AOE like Fan Of Knives in my case to kill them all. (I also loot them because they can drop some epics such as Skullflame shield that can sell for a lot, most of the items are trash though and don't sellf or much). These mobs force respawn if you've killed enough so it's important that you kill the stragglers and the patrollers. Run around the camp and pickpocket all of the mobs, kill them and move to the next group.
While moving from 1 group to another you should pickpocket and kill the single mobs by themselves that are inbetween route that you take. It helps with the force respawn. Do a loop around the area and you should be able to average 100+ boxes an hour. I've gotten as much as 144 in an hour but never less than 100.
Selling the boxes:These boxes are NOT to be unlocked, rather sold as is (locked) so people can turn in. Each realm is different, I could see there being more people wanting to buy the junkboxes on RP realms but hasn't effected my ability to sell them not being on an RP server. Since these boxes cannot be put on the AH you can pretty much name your own price (Within reason) and people will usually buy them. I typically farm 200+ before I list them in trade chat. I have never spent more than a couple of hours advertising before I find a buyer. I price mine at 300g each. I've got a bank character with a guild bank with 6 tabs dedicated to these boxes, that is the kind of demand that I get for them.
Once I find a buyer, they usually want EVERYTHING that I have, the whole lot goes. The easiest way for me to do this is to keep all of my boxes in the guild bank and set permissions for each rank. Once I receive payment I will invite them to the guild and allow them to take their boxes at their own leisure; at their own pace because these boxes will definitely fill up your inventory very quickly. Most customers haven't started the
Ravenholdt reputation portion of the title so they require roughly 1400 lockboxes to get their required reputation. That being said most of my customers are repeat customers. I usually have 1 person that I will farm all the boxes for until they get Exalted, then I move on to the next. I almost always have a buyer in line ready to go.
Mailing boxes once bags are full:
Lets face it, you can get the biggest bags you can get and clear out all of your inventory space, you'll still have a full inventory after only an hour of farming. There are 3 ways of going about this.
- Obtain the toy "Katy's Stampwhistle" (This will allow you to summon a portable mailbox once every 3 hours).
- Be an engineer that can summon a portable mailbox.
- North west of Blackrock Stronghold there is a little tower in Searing Gorge called Iron Summit, this is the closest mailbox I have been able to find, use this to mail your boxes if you don't have the stampwhistle, aren't an engineer, or the other 2 are on cooldown.
The farm is very easy, pretty mindless, and provides results. How much you make is completely up to you due to being able to name your own price. Hopefully this helps some people out that are struggling to make gold, have some free time, or are in a crunch to get that token to renew their sub. Typically 5-6 hours of farming will get me enough boxes to renew my subscription for the month.
Here's me farming for about 15 minutes to complete the last bit of a customer's order. :)
so today i decided to do some theory crafting and see just how many items 1 account can hold, assuming you have the biggest bags, the account character limit, an authenticator on your account. having only 200 stack items (they are the biggest) . each character having a full guild +bank/bags maxed out, and need for no more than 3 hours of sleep every week. Do note before we begin alot of these numbers are going to be rounded just to keep things simple, so this is a mildly conservative estimate. all of this also assumes blizzard doesn't have hard limits to anything im about to do, which i suspect they do but they are unobtainable limits.
Lets begin with the easy numbers and well work up from there. The standard player can hold 16 items. i thing were off to a great start. Lets call those items Herbs bringing us up to 3200 items (16*200, the stack limit of herbs) we can also hold 4 bags, and the biggest bags we can get are the 36 slot Hyjal Expedition Bag. this bumps us up to 32,000 items, then since we are going to holding a lot of stuff and we don't want to be interrupted lets attach an authenticator to our account, giving us 4 extra slots, bringing us up to 32,800. wow that's a lot so far, are your arms getting tired yet?
That takes care of the player but we can access more storage very easily. just checking our bank we have 28 extra slots and 98 Reagent slots that we can add herbs to. thats already an extra 25,200 items and we can add a whole 7 bags to this bringing the bank total up to 75,600 items
but wait we can get even more storage if we were in a guild. the standard guild bank can hold 588 slots, so 117,600 easily right there - so far on just 1 character we managed to store 226,00 items but why limit ourselves to just 1 character, i mean blizzard lets us create 50 characters so lets do that, now we are up to 11,300,000 items on our account.
*note we aren't including void storage because it only holds soulbound items, but its an extra 4000 items. using this logic your character can also equip 18 items giving us an extra 900, also ignoring mounts and battle pets and toys because they aren't items
Thats prety impressive if you ask me, but i think its now time to get a little crazy
The Auction house
this part i did a bit of quick math so i apologize if these numbers aren't as accurate as the could be
so to do this we need a level 1 engineer stationed in the auction house of the shrine of the two moons. this auction house is so close to the mailbox that you can travel form one to the other in .3 seconds, well round the full trip time up 1 second to keep things simple.
you also need only 1 addon installed, this is a simple GET ALL mail addon.
to start we know our character can hold 164 stacks, it takes the game an average of 3 seconds to reload with only 1 addon installed, and the mailbox can hold 50 items that takes 22 seconds to grab all. so it will take us approximately 81 seconds (22*3+ 9 for reloads + 6 for the 14 leftover items)
Posting 164 items using just the default poster (dont use addons because they have to scan the AH before posting it takes longer the more items are posted) from open AH to close takes 47 seconds (this is open, click auction, click maximum stacks, click create auction, wait and close) so it takes us 128 seconds to post 1 full rotation of items. meaning in 1 hour we can post 28 lots, or 675 lots per day 1350 per 2 days, giving us a maximum of 44,280,000 items or 221400 stacks on the auction house at any 1 given time, fun sofar... but lets break the game. lets get batshit with this. we are overlooking a mass storage device we have access to...
The Mailbox
This wonderful device while it can only display 50 messages at any 1 time, it can hold items for up to 30 days. now at 4 weeks we have about 4 days that are ~3 hours shorter than they should be, giving us a total of 708 game hours meaning if for 30 days we did nothing but post items to the auction house we would have 650,227,200 items or 3,251,136 stacks in our mailbox
Now lets do the math! All players on your account + all items in your AH, + all items in your mailbox at any 1 given time the most items any account can have is 705,807,200 or 3,529,036 stacks
Right when the reins of poseidus spawn timer changed and their value started to plummet I posted and sold one into a sniper for 200k, much to my surprise.
I then proceeded to post them over and over and they got sniped right away. I ended up selling 6 of them before the guy using the sniper realized what he’d done.
1M+ sold in under a minute of play. Damn that was a good night!
Not a flip (or even a sale).
I had someone offer me 750k for my Haunted Memento and they even put in a trade window the gold. Turned it down, because well it reminds me of the days of doing Naxx40 and almost seeing my guild break up on four horseman.
