Maybe kinda off-topic, but just to tell you guys some lore, Zul'jin is the Warlord of zul'aman, and chieftain of the amani trolls, back in the trolls wars he wanted peace between the trolls tribes and in warcraft 2 is one of the heroes you save from an alliance base in the first mission, and Ogrimm Doomhammer (leader of the old horde, and close friend of Thrall's father) ask him and the forest trolls to join to the horde and help him, and Ogrimm would help him whit his mission to unite together the trolls.

JUST, so you guys know, Ogrimm wanted to help him, just that he couldn't because the problem with Gul'dan and the fel blood with the demonic powers that cursed and enslaved the orcs by the demons, and the horde just faded apart, after that, Zul'jin was never seen....since today.

Important thing to remember about entering Zul'Aman is that before you enter it is important to be geared for Kharazan. This new instance will be released in Patch 2.3.

What exactly is the benefit if doing the timed run?

From what I've gathered, it seems the only addition to normal drops would be the bear mount and a chest at the end which contains some rings, is that all?

If you want to do the timed event remember - just pulling the boss before the sacrifice is not enough, you have to kill him! If the time runs out the NPC will be sacrificed even during the boss fight.

note that most of the gear that drops here either ignors some armor or increases spell/meele haste.

I've had problems with the timed event in Zul'Aman, I'm in a team that has cleared ZA 4 times now and cleared it the first day, and we've tried timed event 3 times.
First time we went bear->eagle->lynx but didnt make it to lynx since we only had 16 min on timer after killing the eagle.
Then I read the guide on getbuffed.com and we've tried to go bear->eagle->dragonhawk, but the timer seems to bug after we kill the eagle. We kill the bear 7 min before sacrifice and eagle 5 min before, but then 2 lockouts in a row we've gotten 11 min until next sacrifice timer. Somehow we're losing 9 min instant when killing eagle boss, and there's no way we can make it to dragonhawk and kill it in 11 min, someone got a clue about whats wrong?

Another kick in the balls for a elemental shaman... and other classes aswell.. not 1 piece with +spelldamage and crit on, wich is mail.. and so much plate with healing and even also mail with +healing..

seriously, same with kara, only 1 elemental mail drop there exept from token..

Im a 70 druid healing and just started gaining items from karazan....I know this is a stupid question but i have to ask..... can a group of 10 who has a few items from kara but not yet defeated nightbane go into ZA and accualy kill a few bosses, or is that just not possible until your group starts to farm kara full runs??

If you're on Alliance, you can reach the Ghostlands and Zul'Aman by running north from the Easter Plaguelands. There's a FP and a few vendors near the instance.

After killing Zuljin, you can loot as many Fireworks as you can from an object where you fight Zuljin

Those fireworks sell for 6 or 12 coppers(small / big) .. well.. feel free to spend 100000secs to loot and earn your 10000000coppers.. lol

It should be noted that if you leave the instance while you are alive, you will lose any Amani Hex Sticks https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=33865 in your inventory along with any buffs you may have recieved from Amani Charms. So be sure to use them on the frogs if you must zone out to repair and such.

I just wanted to know if anyone else was having a hard time getting their guild to take ZA seriously. My leaders argue that a) the tanking gear in za is crap, and b) each boss only drops 1 purple. I think this is stupid but havent come up with a great arguement other than I REALLY WANT THE 2HANDED SWORD OFF ZULJIN!!!

all trash mobs are easy to take down alone if you are priest. all except bears and not humanoids.

A note to all your Druids out there (particularly Balance) this is an outdoor instance. Finally a chance to do some CC. Entangling roots can be used here and it is "semi useful". Sure it has a risk of breaking but hey...Moonkins complain they can't CC and this is their chance. Also, sleep beast is quite useful to have in this raid as there are a lot of bears/owls.

Whereas I don't like Zul'Gurub nor Zul'Farrak (Find it annoying being in the open air, for some strange reason.) I quite enjoy this instance. Nice loots, challenging but not impossible bosses... a timed event. The guys in Blizzard haven't lost their ability to please us:)

If u never been to ZA and wont be going soon with your guild, ask if u can join a cleared ZA raid. That way u can finish the quests Promises, promises and X marks...Your doom. Its about 43 gold and a 20slot bag. This way u can get nice loot if u are still undergeared for the instance...rinse and repeat with your alts and friends ;)

Is it just me or is all the shammy stuff in Zul'Aman for resto shammys?? Correct me if I'm wrong but almost all the stuff has +healing and not so much +damage. If so, where could an elemental shammy go to get good loot that is good and looks cool?
I would really appreciate some help on this :)

This isn't in Horde territory I belive it's Contested territory as soon as you go to the Amani Pass i think it becomes contested and horde players will get flagged

This is quite puggable, as long as healers know what they're doing. I've green goblined this twice now, got the berserker's call and the bow on the first run.

On the same level as Kara now imo.

The first time I discovered the actual entrance to the instance, I decided to see if I could go inside. (I didn't know about raid instances at the time). A message flashed on my screen saying "You must be at least level 68 and in a raid group to enter this instance."

Funny how this is the only raid labeled as a Horde ('certain faction') Raid due only to where it is located. Instead it should be labeled as 'Contested' but I guess it makes sense that it's labeled as a Horde raid considering it is in a horde-friendly zone. Figures...

Just to clarify, all of the quests in the "Quests" section of this page that are listed as in Grizzly Hills are not in Zul'Aman, nor related whatsoever. Don't even know why they're there.

Before you head here with a couple of friends to farm Mojo, or just for fun, etc. be aware that a minimum of five people is still needed to bang the gong and open the doors.

EDIT: 3.2 made it so that you can now enter Zul'Aman solo. Huzzah!

If they really cared about you not getting into the area, they'd put a "force command" in there. Pretty much 'forcing' your hearthstone to pop, stopping you and kick you away, cooled-down or not. Just a little something they added to certain areas of Dev isle.
Besides, when they let little morsels of new area to the public, gets people more excited and eager than it would putting a giant impassable wall there.
Marketing man... Trust me, you wouldn't be able to get in there if they truely didn't want you there... Unless you are Chuck Norris of course

it is indeed a 10 man raid. And requires lvl 70.

First in on my server. Can confirm this is indeed a 10 man, it is in the ghostlands.. and ... it is not easy at all..

But for some form of direction for when you get in there and do us proud. got to Www.cursegaming.com and search for Zul'aman it gives you a map to all the bosses.

I entered ZA last night for the first time, what a place... we got to the first boss in 18 minutes but didn't down him in time for the sacrifice...

With one tank, the first boss is flat out impossible. You need two: one to soak up mangle when its in human form, one to take the dots when its in bear form... his DPS gets WAY lower(50%) if you have two tanks.

Also, we tried the second boss, but failed. He's really, really tough. He hits with 3.5k chain lightning bolts, and constantly summons a thunderstorm that hits everyone for 2k damage every second.

Ive downed the first boss in this place multiple times, and ive attempted all the other gods as well. I can tell you right off the bat that this place is harder than Karazhan. Heres some details on the beginning of the raid instance to get everyone that hasnt been before up and running without wiping too many times (you WILL wipe in here many, MANY times.)

When you first start the instance, it is required that you talk to Harrison Jones, who tells you to hit the gong with him. A minimum of 5 people clicking the gong is required to open the raid. As soon as the doors open, you are saved to the instance. After Harrison walks through the doors, he will get killed by one of 2 guards that rush in. These guards CANNOT be CC'd, so you will need 2 separate tanks to hold them. The guards will also summon non-elite adds to aid them. These can be AoE'd down, they dont have much health. After those two are dead, head dow the stairs and to the right, then go down the stairs to your left. On the hill there will be another 2 elite trolls, which cannot be CC'd. One of them is a Caster/Healer type, and he creates totems. The totems get top priority, and kill the Caster fast (if him and his totems are left up, everything is made immune to all damage). After that, turn around, you'll see the bear boss looking down at you. Once you are close enough, he sends 3 elites to get you. These can be CC'd (Axe throwers recommended) and should be handled appropriatly. Burn them down and then turn right. There will be two idle bears chillin there. They can be CC'd, but its not necessary. Kill them and go up the hill (hug the left wall). You will see the boss again, with 4 adds this time. CC on the Axe Throwers and major DPS to get the others down, then take care of the other 2. go up the stairs and the boss will be on your right hand side, with 2 mounted bears as adds. be EXTREMLEY careful at this point, the bears aggro at ANY POINT in the instance, so its possible that they go charging about after a wipe killing whoevers running in. Tank each of these adds FAR AWAY from each other, they get a buff if theyre too close. Pick a target to kill, and Burn Him. At about 20% he will dismount, leaving the bear at full health. Finish the troll rider and leave the tank to hold the bear. Kill the other Mounted rider, then kill the bears at your leisure. Run up the stairs and there will be a final wave of adds....2 mounted bears and 2 Normal trolls (Axe Thrower and Healer/totem) Its easiest to have 2 mages in the group keep the 2 non-mounted trolls sheeped, and just use the same strategy on the bears.

The actual boss fight is relativley simple. Have both of your tanks stand directly on top of one another, in order to split his cleave and reduce his dmg done by 50%. He also has 2 forms....one troll and a bear form. We have a Druid tank him while in human form, and a pally taunt him and tank him in bear form (or vice-versa, i forget). Have all casters spread out, he does a Nightbane-like charge, but this cannot be avoided. He can crit these charges, so dont go below ~7k health. He has somewhere around 1.25 million health, so its a fair endurance fight. Duration is made trivial by a shadow priest and/or a Shaman's totems, though.

You will notice a timer at the top of the screen after you start the instance. If you drop the boss before the timer runs down, you get extra loot. thats all that happens.

Zul'jin prowled the moss covered steps leading to his throne. He had heard the stories again and again: 'heroes of the alliance and horde come to rid the world of us!'. He had lost caring. They would come whether he cared or not and as such all he could do was prepare his warriors and defences for what was to come. He sat down with a heavy heart. Never before had he felt so mightily betrayed as when he saw the undead helping the blood elves in his land, his ghostlands. Zul'jin gazed over his assembled entourage. The warriors who he had chosen to be the main defences to his great city were ready. He lifted his great mojo stick and uttered the terrible incantation of fusing. At once, long tendrils of power drifted from the stick and swirled about the warriors, finally coalescing into an infinitely bright and deadly ball of energy. As soon as it had come, it had gone. The warriors of Zul'aman were ready. Let the infidels come.

Captain Hammerfist surveyed the great gong. Over twice an elves height and three times his breadth, it was indeed a mighty piece of engineering and goldcrafting. Next to the gong lay a large wooden mallet, suffused with diamonds and other precious stones that made men envious and dwarves erotic. Hammerfist lifted the great mallet and swung with all his weight behind it. The mallet struck like a clap of thunder and an eerie silence descended the party. Ranger Theodrin approached and surveyed where the mallet had struck. It had left a thousand tiny, multicoloured balls of light and energy where it had smashed into the gold. Suddenly, the doors began to open and the party came to face this new adventure.

Nalorakk roared in rage as the great doors swung inwards. Never before had his den been so rudely interrupted. The troll warriors and magicians near him looked up at him in slight surprise and admiration. Nalorakk controlled his anger long enough to sound the advance. There would be blood spilt this day for such a heinous crime.

Hammerfist bellowed as he hurled his mighty hammer into an oncoming troll. The monsters head cracked under the blow and the hammer went on to smash into a feeble caster. Hammerfist drew his two swords from around his waist and proceeded to slice through guts, throats, spleens and legs to get to the source of the noise. Never before had the party heard such a magnificent, and yet terrifying; bestial howl. It made the very bones inside the proud dwarf shake and shudder as he killed. To his left, Theodrin was loosing arrow after arrow into the seemingly endless tide of trolls; felling and injuring many. Hammerfist felt a stab of agony as a spear found its way past his armour and sunk deep into his shoulder. He roared in anger and swatted the troll like a fly. Behind him, the priest Lele heard his cry and uttered a prayer of mending. Suddenly, Hammerfist was thrown back like a rag doll, his head slamming into the wall. He stood up shakily and there, standing before him in all its twelve foot glory, was the bear avatar Nalorakk.

Nalorakk looked down at the puny dwarf he had tossed aside. That infidel had slain many of his brothers and sisters and now it was time to repay the debt in kind. Nalorakk rounded on the small fireball launching man and picked him up. The man uttered something under his breath and Nalorakk felt himself change as he realised he was being turned into a sheep. This man will pay he thought as he recollected the avater incantation.

Lele drank from his water skin as Hammerfist recovered. Farthir, their magician had been lucky indeed. Hammerfist got up and drew his shield. As one, the group of ten charged at the foul bear beast. Hammerfist slammed his shield into the beasts nose and felt a satisfying crunching sound. Hammerfist bellowed and insulted the troll beyond reason, and his anger was repayed with a thundering blow. Had Hammerfist stayed where he was a second longer he would have been crushed between the wall and the bears paw. Instead, he had rolled aside and sliced the tendons of the arm, rendering it now useless.

Nalorakk realised he had just been outsmarted. This dwarf was making fun of him whilst the other creatures hurt him. Nalorakk reared up on his hind legs and limpedly charged into the creature who was casting heals.

Lele screamed as the jaws of Nalorakk came down around her and crushed her neck. Lele was thrown around like a rag doll and smashed against the wall, blood streamed down and stained the bear creatures coat. At this, Farthir went mad beyond reason. He drew up all of his energy reserves and released a rain of fire and death that scorched the very skin from Nalorakk. The smell of burning fur and skin saturated the air.

Nalorakk realised he was going to die. His skin had been burnt. His features cooked beyond recognition. There was only one last thing he could do.

Hammerfist paled visibly as the bear avater looked down into his eyes. The creature began to dissolve in front of him, its very essence mingling into the air. Shards of light stormed out of its body as the party averted their gaze. The light and energy that had once been Nalorakk came to rest upon the floor. Without warning, the energy that had been stored up was unleashed. Theodrin and Farthir were too close and were vaporised before they had time to scream. Hammerfist held up his mighty tower shield as the energy sought to engulf him.

As the ash and debris cleared Hammerfist shook himself. The dust and cooked skin falling off him. He looked around, out of ten brave adventurers he was the only one left standing. A single tear streamed down his craggy face as he surveyed the destruction. The beast had been slain, but so had his friends. He strolled over to where the beast was and started to gut it. The pelt would make a fine souvenir. As he did so, he felt something large and solid within the gut of the beast. He cut through the stomach and found a large wooden box. Hammerfist took out the box and laid it to one side. Suddenly, he hefted his hammer and slammed it down on the small wooden container. It splintered into a thousand pieces and inside lay small pieces of metal, leather and an unknown substance.

A few hours later, Hammerfist had assembled all the pieces. The first had been a mighty axe formed of Obsidian with a blade made of crystallised water. So sharp was it, that he had cut through stone and iron as if they were blades of grass. It had two large, oval sockets where it looked like two precious stones once were. The second item that he had managed to assemble was a pair of plate boots. They were crimson in colour and he had to struggle not to place them on his feet, for he did not know whether they would be for good or for ill. He hefted the items onto his back and looked around. The air smelled fresh now. He would proceed, and kill the creator of that foul beast which had stolen his friends.

Hammerfist perused the area. Small pots and pans and cooking equipment was strewn everywhere. Blood of many different colours lay splattered on the floor yet no sign of the owners was to be found. He smelled the air, sure enough the stench of death pervaded deep into the recesses of the clearing. At once, Hammerfist leapt out of his his hiding place, drawing his mace as he did so; and began the careful search of what had gone on.

The sounds of battle crashed around his ears. Hammerfist crashed through a small door into a side alley. He swore violently under his breath. To his left and right were beings of the Horde. Two towerring cow men swung with great swords, cutting through the Amani warriors. Behind them were two archers and some foul being that had a large, bellowing fiery demon with it. The archers fired streams of arrows into the oncoming trolls and their pets savaged the ones who didn't die. The demon controller lifted his hand to point at a particularly large troll berserker that was making ground on one of the bull men. The demon roared, incomprehendable heat scorching the great trolls skin. As soon as it did however, the skin healed over and the beast was whole again. The last of the horde party was a blood elf. The blood elf was covered in glistening plate armour and sat on a horse that fire seeped out of. He had a blade the likes of which Hammerfist had only read about. It was the length of the blood elf, glowed like the eyes of a phoenix, and had a large crystal of light hovering above it. It was the Ashbringer.

Hammerfist roared in defiance as he joined the fray. One of the large bull men raised an eye brow at him but continued to kill the trolls. Without warning, three of the trolls jumped on the great bull man and started beating him with fists. Hammerfist wielded his hammer and smashed two of them aside, the bull man skewering the remaining one with his horns. They exchanged nods of approval and rejoined the fray.

By this time the fiery demon had pinned the troll warrior against the wall and had set about cooking the demons head as fast as it could heal. The warrior screamed incredulously at the pain it was suffering. It slammed its tusks into the demons eyes and the demon backed down, momentarily stunned. The troll warrior hefted a large axe that had been dropped in the fray and slashed down at the demon. Even as the heat from the demon melted the axe it cut down and through the tendrils of energy that connected the head. At once, the demon collapsed to the floor.

The blood elf stepped down from his mount drawing his blade. The troll warrior looked at this new challenge and bellowed in rage. The two great forces collided and the blood elf sliced through the trolls knee. Even as the troll began to try to connect the stump so that it could rejoin, the wound began to catch ablaze. Skin, bone and muscle alike turned to ash as the zealous light consumed it. The troll berserker howled in rage and frustration at how it had been bested. The blood elf slammed the blade into the trolls chest and it was still.

Hammerfist stopped and looked around. He stood among a ring of dead. Blood dripped off his weapons as he looked up at the bull man he had saved. The creature offered its hand and Hammerfist shook it. As he did so however, he noticed a blade slicing down towards him. He rolled and lifted his own weapon up to block. The enemies blade sliced through it like butter and missed his chest by a hairs breadth. Suddenly, the bull man stepped in front of him and the fighting ceased. Hammerfist peered up to see that the blood elf was standing with sword levelled at the great warriors chest. They talked for severals minutes, some of it was clearly angry and some of it was incredulous; yet finally the paladin lowered his weapon. One of the archers came forward and started talking to Hammerfist in dwarvish. Hammerfist was delighted at the chance to talk dwarvish again but honoured the troll by talking the language of the archer.

Several hours later, the party had moved forward to a great set of steps with a throne at the top. The two archers ascended carefully, beasts and weapons at the ready. Without warning, both were struck down by great axes the size of a mans arm. Zul'jin was angry, and he had bought friends.

The remaining members of the party formed a tight nit circle. The eerie silence of the trolls was uncanny, and the demon controller muttered an incantation and one of the trolls fell. None of the others moved. Zul'jin suddenly jumped down and knocked the fighters down. Hammerfist rolled onto his front and hefted his shield aloft. The two other bullmen, blood elf and the demon controller drew their weapons. Zul'jin was at least fourteen feet tall, had one arm, one eye and a blade that would have taken two dwarves to lift held in one hand. He eyed the paladins weapon and roared a challenge. Battle was joined.

The trolls surged forwards as one, hundreds of them overpowering the warriors. The blood elf stood alone, swinging his blade and felling half a dozen with each stroke, yet still they came on. As the hours dragged by, the paladin began to tire, his energy reserves were running out. The trolls seemed to sense this and pressed on with renewed vigour. The blood elf roared in anger as a spear jabbed through his plate armour and pierced his back. As soon as it did however, an orb of divine energy surrounded the paladin and his wounds healed. The trolls who attacked as this happened found their weapons being directed away from their target and piercing their fellows.

The paladin drew his sword and prepared to die. The trolls would soon defeat him. The blade would be lost and everything would have come to nought. He drew up the last of his reserves as the shield began to fail. The light came down. The trolls surged forwards.

Hammerfist became living again as the stone that he had become one with released him. At once he saw the brave paladin struggle against the massive wave of trolls. Hammerfist whispered something to himself and suddenly a clap of thunder struck down the trolls nearest to the paladin. Hammerfist charged in, the great axe he had got off Nalorakk slicing with incredible ease through anything. Together, the blood elf and dwarf stood back to back and fought.

An hour later and the trolls were finished. Only Zul'jin himself remained, seated on his throne and watching with idle amusement. The paladin looked down at Hammerfist and they nodded in agreement : today, this troll would die. Suddenly, Zul'jin threw an axe. The axe sunk deep into one of the bull men who had barely survived and was lying on his back panting for air. Hammerfist shed a single tear which smeared his blood stained face. They ran up the steps and assaulted Zul'jin. The great troll stared in amazement as the Ashbringer cleaved his ear off, and he was even more amazed when it didn't regenerate. Zul'jin howled with rage and smashed the paladin onto a large pile of stakes. Hammerfist went berserk and changed to stone. This time however, the stone did not argue with his body and he became a living golem.

Zul'jin was lifted up and thrown some twenty feet into the wall. He suddenly became aware that nature itself had turned against him. He raised his axe and threw it at the dwarf. It rebounded harmlessly off and Zul'jin swore to himself. Hammerfist picked up Ashbringer as he walked towards Zul'jin. This would end. Now.

The great dwarf drew the blade up and slammed it down deep into Zul'jins chest. Zul'jin screamed higher then could be believed. His eyes rolled backwards and blood sizzled and evaporated at the wound. Hammerfist was done. He had avenged his friends.

As the moon rose Hammerfist realised he would have to get out. The body of Zul'jin was decomposing and the stink was unbearable. Hammerfist stood up and started to walk. As he did so however, he had a tingling feeling and turned round to see that Zul'jins head had become nothing but bone. The sockets glowed with fire and Hammerfist felt a change within himself. At first, it was nothing, then suddenly he sprouted upwards some five feet. His face elongated and tusks grew from his mouth. Hammerfist tried to scream but all that came out was a harsh, troll laughter. Muscles bulged and tendons stretched. The dwarf was no more. Instead, Zul'jin stood.

you should have at least, most if not all kara gear and maybe some gruul if u can. My guild hadnt started it until we all had all kara and gruul gear and some of us had merc/veng

0.0 some of the newest badge gear are better than these drops XD. but they are really expensive (150 for a dagger, 100 for chest piece, 60 for rings and rest is 75 i think, but im not sure).

our guild has cleared this instance many times, in ONLY kara gear. we have since taken down vr once and gruul numerous times. we have done 2 of the timers so far. what this place takes is a precise machine of a raid and youll be fine. omg, somtimes i wonder how competent the raid leaders are in these "supposed raid guilds" that say you need ssc, tk, hyjal, and bt gear first to be able to do this. i think they down bosses on brute strength, not tactics.

oh, we did have 2 - 3 badge rewards per person from the sso smithy up on the island, but zero 25man gear before clearing here. also, a pally tank makes eagle and lynx much easier. have the pally go in and grab everything then the other tank pull one at a time off him and the grp dps it down.

Did the ZA timed today,got the bear mount with 12min left on timer.. Did this just 4fun,all dps was casters. 2locks,1shader,3shamans. Prob some hardcore sunwell guild could have 15min left or so. but then they gotta push all out.

yeah, so ive been waiting for someone in a t5, t6 guild to say my post was bogus. guess not. that is, after all, why i left my name, guild, and server listed. since i left those 2 posts we now have vr, sol, and lurk on farm. the za gear has really helped out. one thing i would say as a healer, in kara everyone is concerned w +healing, once you start za, time to regem a lot. gonna need a lot of mp5 there. ive scaled my +healing way back and regemed most everything for mana regen. that is also going to be needed for your next 25 man encounters.

The Gong in the first part is the hardest boss. Sometimes it glitches out and won't open the door.

Ya, We were having the same problem after the recent patch. The solution is to have each member of the raid only click the gong ONCE. We all do it at the same time and it seems to work fine. Click Only Once. If may work if everyone clicks it once at seperate times but have everyone do it together to be Safe. Click Only Once.

I confirm Rolloh's solution is correct. We must have tried for 20 minutes until I came across his note here. It would seem there's a bug that makes your animation stick and if you reclick it starts over. Clicking just one time and only once seems to do it. With this approach, eventually 5 party members will complete their swing on the gong and open the door.
