A flat 5% bonus to your crit chance. A must-have talent for any Destruction build, and in its current form probably the highest DPS increase from any single talent point in the Destruction tree.

As a side note, if you think it seems odd that one talent point gives 5% crit, it's because Devastation and Ruin switched places in patch 3.0. Previously, Devastation was a five point talent where Ruin is now for 1/2/3/4/5% more crit, while Ruin was a one point talent (the 21 point talent in the tree). The two switched places to give other specs easier access to Ruin, without giving too many goodies for free to the other trees. The shaman Elemental tree received the same treatment, with Elemental Mastery and Call of Thunder switching places.

This talent does not increase your critical strike chance on your character sheet, since it only increases "Destruction" spells and not a specific magic school. Just add 5% to whatever your crit chance is on your character sheet.

When you crit as a destructive warlock, you hit HARD. When in dungeon partys or groups, I always equip a good one-handed weapon (Lorespinner dagger off quest reward in Dire Maul) and a spellstone for that extra 1% chance to crit.
