im stuck on this quest. i got the evoroot gave it to Gregan Brewspewer then he gave me 3 videre elixer. after that nothing happens but the elixir said to drink in tanaris i drank the elixir in the graveyard in tanaris and it killed me. i didnt know what to do so i went back to Gregan Brewspewer and still nothing, i went back to tanaris and drank all 3 of the elixir but still nothing. can someone help me out on this.

For those who aren't aware, this quest is based on the original Legend of Zelda game, where you could buy an item called 'meat'. You would place it on the ground and it would act as a lure for all the monsters in the area, making them all move to the meat instead of attacking you. It even looked very similar to the icon of the Bait. Just another Zelda reference they stuck in this chain.

seems bugged as of 2.4.3... was able to run right past miblon and nab an evoroot. bugged in favour of the player, i guess? Not sure, please correct me if i'm wrong.

If you jump on the small ledge on the north side of the enclosure, you can easily work your way through the debris and into the middle to grab the evoroot.

I didn't even have the quest at the time- I was on my way to speak to Gregan, from the lady in winterspring.

How come this quest is placed under "Un'Goro Crater" in the ingame quest log when it's gotten in Winterspring and done in Feralas?

strangely, this quest was in Un'Goro Crater on the questlog for me too...
also, when i went up to Miblon, the meat was already there (from a previous player, i suppose), so i went in and got the evoroot. i tried to get more than one, but it didn't work...
then i decided to go ahead and drop the bait anyways, since i couldn't sell it back..
then, for kicks, i went back in to see if i could get another evoroot, but alas, i could not... BUT... the wall went back up!
so i got out by the swirly piece of wall that was on the ground, and went for the turn-in at Gregan.
turned it in.. got THREE elixers, and went along on my merry way.... however, questhelper is still showing that i need to turn in.
so when i got to winterspring, the quest was available to turn in to Donova with no issues.
idk, i'm thinking it might be a bit buggy.

it is in the list of quests for Un'Goro Crater because it is part of a quest line that starts and ends in Un'Goro.

Slow Fall + To the Top makes this quick and easy. It's possible to Slow Fall from the top of the Colossal you get teleported to to just in front of Miblon, then on your way back to do the same and land on Mr. Dwarf's camp.
It's also hilarious. I'd recommend mounting up before jumping, though, to get the speed bonus.
Warning: You -will- need to recast Slow Fall on your way down.
Nice way to avoid aggro, and it's always funny to watch a hawkstrider (or whatever mount you're on) look like it's riding an invisible escalator around Feralas.

It would be so much easier to just kill the gnoll lol. Apparently even lvl 80 characters are afraid of a level 50 mob.

Since I came across this strange little temple with the grumbling gnoll at the front, I had to find out what was inside and what, if anything, these evorroot things were for that I could see inside! I took a route no one had mentioned yet. I was on my priest, and took a running leap from the hill that the road is on and cast slow fall when I was at the peak of my mounted jump's arc, nicely sailing into the broken corner that provides a lower wall height for us nosy people. Priests, if you want to know whats in there, then perform this trick! Easy and fun, and reminiscent of the giant omelet quest (think it was called "I must have them", 'them' referering to the giant eggs) where you can get the slow fall trampoline buff and perform a mounted jump right into mama hawk's nest from the hill behind ir. =]

I have to say as of now, You do not need to lure the gnoll away if you have a 100% speed land mount. Simply go to the back of the wall, go onto the ledge of the ruins and face the tree(back left corner of the ruins the evoroot is in). Run and turn into the little crack/crevice in the wall. Took me a couple of times to get the turn right but it worked.

This is a side quest you need to do to get the item needed for the other quest of the same name. That quest is part of the long "Linken" chain that begins in Un'Goro Crater.

I came across this before I got the quest. I managed to get in on the back side where the damage is.. climbing the small ledge and jumping toward the top from the outside corner. I made it on my second try.

Getting the root wothout the quest is also not a problem, but since it's unique you can only get one.

don't go to tanaris and drink it, you will only die for no reason. make sure to go straight back to winterspring and follow the instructions.

I found the coords here (44,10) went over there, _jumped_ over the wall on the opposite side of the gnoll-guy, on my mount. There's like a fallen pillar where u can jump over. Went back to gregan and got the potions.

Someone was nice enough to document this whole, very long quest chain in the thread for the Faded Photograph (which is useless, btw). I'm reposting it here:

If you want to do this quest, THIS IS HOW YOU REALLY START IT

1) Go to 63,68 in Ungoro Crator and click on the 'raft' that is wrecked on the shore of the small lake. (if you don't have cords it is in the SE section of the crator and it's the second lake from the south.. sort of Y shaped)

2) That quest you get from clicking on the wrecked raft tells you to look in the lake.. only a couple feet away in the lake is a bag under the water. Click on it and it will give you a bag to examine and another quest to find the owner. He is at Marshals refuge. Cords are 44,8 but it's so far north it's hard to see. Just look for yellow dot on mini map.

3) IN the bag are a few things including the photo. I think you have to open the bag of goodies 'examine' (right click) in order to get the yellow dot at the refuge though.

4) Anyway, Linken (at the refuge and owner of the bag) then tells you to talk to Donnava Snowden in Winterspring. (omw there now.. long flight)

soo..what brings you all the way out here little lady? XD I'm just a bored lev 70 that happen to see the photo on AH dirt cheap and it was white so I got curious. I love these offten missed quests. If you like these sorts of quests there is another one I can't remember the name..but it's a 'riddle' started by a scroll off one of the ships in STV. (the ones where you have to kill the captains) Takes you to a few different places and you end up with a cool 14slot 'explorers napsack'. Easily replaced now, but it's a TON TON TON of XP! I think you have to be 38?..or maybe it was 48 to start it though.

5) Donova Snowden is at 31,45 in Winterspring which is on the very west end of the zone south of the road near a very small lake. If you read the bottom of the screen she says to follow her (she runs fast) to the little lake and throws the sword into it (given in previous quest). She explains how the lake improves whatever she throws into it. When she's done she just goes back to the tent. I had to click on her to see the next part which is titled "The Videre Elixir"

6) Now you have to find 'Gregan Brewspewer' in Northern Feralis. Headed there now brb with cords. Flying to Feathermoon.. figured it's easier than the Thousand Needles FP. Ok..he's at 45,25 which is EXACTLY on the letter 'T' in the word 'THE' in 'The Twin Colossals'

7 Gregan does NOT have a gold dot. You just have to talk to him to get the next part. He goes on about how this root you need for the elixir is hard to find but that he does know of one but it's guarded. You then have to BUY (20s) bait to set down next to the thing guarding it. you have to go farther North of Gregan I guess to find the ruins where this thing is. Ok..it's a Gnoll at 44,10 just to the left of the road if you keep going north of the Colossals. You will see a square ruined building. The gnoll is on the steps. Ok..just click on the bait and you can place it anywhere near the stairs and he'll go to it revealing an open door to the root. No fighting necessary :D

8 So the point of THAT PART was to get the elixir to give back to Donova who then says to meet her in the grave yard in Tanaris. OMW there now. (total you get 3 elixirs, 1 for donova, 1 to take at the grave, and 1 more I guess in case you screw up)

9 Drink one of the remaining 2 elixirs IN THE GRAVE and you die right away. DON'T REZ!

(I accidently rez'd and then only had one left. I took it and went north and into the mtns only to figure out that I think I forgot to get the part from Donova... Read it..just didn't accept it :( So now im on my way back to Feralis to get more elixir (hoping I can) and then back to Donova. I'm sure this all isn't worth it but it's fun to say I did it.) Ok..I was able to get more elixir with the bait and the whole gnoll thing. Went back to Donova and that's exactly what happened. Read quest but forgot to GET it. OMW back to the dang grave :(

Ok.. drank the potion..'died' and headed north..there IS A GOLD DOT at 53,23 or there abouts. He walks around a tiny bit.

10 Ok..so you go rez back at the grave AFTER talking to the ghost guy (while you are a ghost too) and you look for the grave stone with the gear. (only one that looks different really) Click on it and it tells you to go back to the guy in Ungoro. Reward at this point for a lev 70 is over a GOLD ooooooo :P

11 GEEZ..he says to talk to the girl in the cave where all the crystals are there at Marshals Refuge. She does something then you have to talk to her again and then she sends you off to find some guy in Felwood! And all I was going to do today was farm a bit of thorium in the crator and clean house :(

12 The person you need in southern Felwood is at the Emerald Santuary 51,81. I now need to find silvery claws and an Iron tree heart from the creatures of Felwood.

***I realy hoping someone out there even reads this. I put a lot of time into completeing this so far.***

13 Got the claws off bears and wolves (none off birds) right around the quest giver and so on. The iron tree heart I had to go to Iron Tree Woods and kill one of those walking trees. Got it on first kill.

14 Now I have to go back to Tanaris to 'lost rigger cove' and look for a circle of stones. (found at 70,49) Which is on the back side of the fenced area.. Go around to the south side of the fenced area and then back up into the mountains a bit and you will see some almost teeth shaped boulders sticking out of the sand. (not small rocks like I pictured) Click on the tome in your bag and a lev 54 water elemental comes at you.. just stay in the circle and it will show complete when he gets there. Then just kill him.

15 You then have to take the item you get from that completion back to the girl in the cave at Marshals Refuge and then she tells you to go to Linken just out side the cave. Then you have to go to Fire Plume Ridge this part is a group quest to the top and kill that elite nasty fire elemental in the cave. But you get something to remove some aura which..as far as I can tell it did nothing. I used the wand thing that is supose to 'dispell' his aura and that started combat. He beat me around over and over and over and I hardly ever got ONE shot off.. I was always flying in the air. Something went wrong for sure.

Ok.. used the wand thing again.. was buffed up and a bit more ready this time. Froze him in spot (mage) and then just used arcane misciles over and over and he went down no problem. DON'T FORGET to go IN THE CAVE to get the box with the flame thing or you will have to go back and kill the guy again to get it. (like I did) Take that back to Linken and you are ~~~FINALLY DONE!~~~

GRATS..that was definitely the LONGEST QUEST EVER but I hope I helped SOMEONE

P.S. Buying the picture is only worth a chuckle if you have no intention of doing this quest. You get one when you start the quest at the boat as I stated in step three. And you never have to turn it in so you can keep or sell when done with the quest.

The dwarf guy is at 45,25 and the place for the root in 44,10 , you can buy a bait from the dwarf ... but lol , there's no need of it , you can enter jumping from behind the building easily. In the back of the building there's a tree almost inside it, from the back , facing to the tree you'll see a column touching the tree , just jump to it and a little right trying to get in, and you'll be inside , piece of cake... the bait is just 20s but it's as easy as jumping =P

I also jumped into the building from the back.
I am a Org hunter, have to use the aspact of chita to bost up the speed to be able to jump into it.
However, if you go back to Gregan Brewspewer after you unable get in, he then will sell you the bate,use to place near the gard in order to open the door. much easer!

Thank You, Dollarsign!been working on this quest off and on for a week. With the "A-HA's" that you gave me, got as far as the Fire Plume part, and as soon as I can , I'll finish that , too! I did it because Zelda was the first game I ever played, how could I pass it up?

If the quest wasn't worth it I wouldn't even think about doing it...all that silver down the drain for flying back and forth, the wasted time in running around...it sucks! But the quest is worth it so I'm wasting about an hour and a half of my power questing time to do it...

Location of miblon Snarltooth is 44,10. That is where the bait goes and then the wall opens behind him. Then you can enter and get the Evoroot. Be aware you can only get one, even though the pots still show a gold gear.

Very easy without the Bait.

Go to the damaged side, get close to the wall, face the tree and jump, you can now enter, and leave again without using the bait..

Ok, Gregan Brewspewer is at 45,25 dodge the bears and gorilla
(p.s. Titan bar is a great way to know where you are at all times) then run North along the road until you get to 45,10, then turn right. you'll see a stone ruin (box without a top) and a gnoll in front of it (location 44,10)
then run back south to gregan back at 45,25

or you can just buy the bait item (20 silver) from gregan and then stick it at marlins feet, when you do that the door opens you go in get the plant and either out the door (if its still open) or out the back

I blew this quest off as I had the elixir and the sword after turn in back at Tanaris, went to graveyard north of town, drank elixir and no one to talk to. Threw away sword but would have liked to told Blizzard where to put it.

this quest was super easy. i dunno what you guys are complaining about.

follow the road north of the twin colossals and there's a green named mob standing on the left of the road next to some ruins. this is MIBLIN SNARLTOOTH. you have to buy the bait from gregan brewspewer first but that's only 20s. Place it on the stairs somewhere and be on your way to loot and get the elixer from gregan.

Do NOT buy Bait. It is a waste of money (it is literally bait).
Go behind the structure. There is a break in the floor you can walk up. Then turn around jump through the broken wall into the enclosure.
