"Zedd's Probably Dead" is a quest nearby. The text of this quest indicates that, "The bridge that goes over top of the worg pit will lead you to the entrance to the catacombs."

Doesn't get much clearer than that. Don't go outside the village, just look to the north and west, you'll see worgs and bones and stuff... there's a bridge there, go up it. Easy peasy.

The Catacombs are across the bridge. Once in here you finish and accept some quest which will basically lead you to the end of the catacombs with a new quest and the harpoon manuel.

inside wyrmskull village, there is a very long and wide bridge.. cross it to the other side to get to the cave.

Just a note for those of you who are grinding rep for equipment and such . . .

In order to be able to take this quest, you must do Vice Admiral Keller's quests up to (but not including) Prisoners of Wyrmskull. At that point, many more quests will open to you.

Except that the text of the quest doesn't say that. It says "His dying words indicated that the manual was lost in the Utgarde Catacombs, located at the northwest end of Wyrmskull."

I found the Harpoon Operation Manual inside the Utgarde Catacombs. Coords 59,55. You can pick up a new quest there too, The Shining Light.

Just head across the bridge over the worg pit. Follow the path UP until you reach the catacomb entrance (cords 56.49), then head down inside. The manual is down a hallway on the left.

Unfortunately he was abducted and taken north of here to Wyrmskull Village. We eventually did find him, but near death and without the manual. His dying words indicated that the manual was lost in the Utgarde Catacombs, located at the northwest end of Wyrmskull. Get me that manual!]
