fighting these i did get anoyed by the fear, it lasts 3 seconds. You don't wander far, only at walking speed but it can happen 3+ times per fight. I found using will of the forsaken sometimes meant longer before i got attacking again because of activating the global cooldown. It's probably best to wait the 3 seconds. Not long, but when it happens multiple times it does get on your nerves.

also drops the epic i just got it.
i whas running there with my mount and 1 attacked me so i killed it and there it whas, so i dont know anything about it just that they drop it :).

I use one as a pet just for the heck of it. The fear ability turns into a sonic blast ability https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/spell=50519 that has a stun effect rather than a fear effect. Kind of disappointing but they make a pretty good pet at 53. they are hard to tame solo because they fear you and, as stated above, it is annoying.

The sound effect that these make when fighting and dying is extremely similar to the sound effects used for Mutalisks in Starcraft.

Farming bats for a couple of hours for the past two days. The first day, I got a Gryphonwing Long Bow, and I thought that was pretty cool. Then, last night, in about 2 hours of farming bats, I wound up with Hurricane and a Lifestone. My lowbie hunter friend was very happy to have an Epic bow to 'grow into.' :)

Ironically, I only picked up 12 Evil Bat Eyes in all that time. 6 eyes = 1 epic? Straaaange.

this was my first epic drop....off a plaguebat and right after this dropped stoneraven dropped, lol my lucky day =D

Dont come here looking to tame a plaguebat at 48, I have yet to see any below 53.

Well I couldn't find a lvl 48 Plaguebat...they're all 54-55. Very scary, I can tell you!
