blizz should add a new meta-achievement, called "it was all merely a set back"
gained when you defeat bosses that make come-backs
the bosses would be:
Kael'tas on both The Eye and Magister Terrace.
Anu'barak both on Azjol'nerub and ToTC
Baron Rivendare on Stratholme and on Naxx.
Valanar when doing the quest Last rites (alliance) or breaking trough (horde) and killing valanar on ICC.
Keleseth both on utgarde keep and ICC
Taladran on Ank'anet and ICC
Onyxia on her lair and on BWD.
Nefarian on BWL and on BWD.
The Black Knight on his quest in the Argent Tournament and on Trial of the Champion.
Ragnaros on MC and on the Firelands.
the achievement could reward something goofie like a mini Kael'tas pet, or the title "The Smug" (as a reference of "don't look so smug" line spoken by Kael'tas)
Edit:Updated for cataclysm, since it features the return of 2 well known dragons back in undead form as well as a certain majordomo-punishing elemental lord.
Edit2: edited for better format, and removing typos

The Blood Prince Council has Prince Keleseth (Who was in Utgarde Keep), Prince Taldaram (Who was in Ahn'Kahet: The Old Kingdom), and Prince Valanar (Who you may remember from the Death Knight's beggining area)

From WoWwiki
"This is a long one phase encounter. You will need one ranged tank and two regular tanks.
Invocation of Blood will randomly buff one of the Blood Princes and only that Prince will have a health bar to DPS. The other Princes will have 1 HP and attacking them will have no effect. Invocation of blood switches between princes throughout the encounter and DPS must switch with it. Prince Valanar will be the first Prince with Invocation of Blood.
A properly specced Warlock will be the most useful class for tanking Prince Keleseth. Dark Nucleii will spawn in the room around Keleseth and the Warlock must get aggro on them and stand near them. They will give the Warlock a stacking debuff that reduces shadow damage taken, allowing the warlock to survive Empowered Shadow Lance which is cast when Keleseth gains Invocation of Blood. Dark Nucleii should not be hit too hard and also destroy themselves over time, neccesitating finding more to keep the shadow resonance buff up.
Prince Valanar will use Kinetic Bombs which can be targetted and attacked to bounce them higher in the air and prevent them from exploding. He puts shock vortexes on random raid members which knock both them and any nearby raid members back 50 yards. When he gains Invocation of Blood he casts Empowered Shock Vortex which creates a shock vortex on top of every player within 30 yards, melee will need to scatter and get away from him.
Prince Taldaram will do a frontal cone fire attack and conjure balls of flame which follow a random raid member and do less damage the longer they are kited, minimum 10,000 damage. With Invocation of Blood he will launch Empowered Balls of Flame which do a huge amount of damage on impact and lesser damage to nearby targets along the way, doing less impact damage depending on how many players were hit while the ball was in flight. So we run around in this uterus-shaped room (just look at its map), where blood flows, and there are nuclei...
Very funny Blizz.

If you look at the mirrors behind the bosses, you'll notice they represent each area where you met and killed them before you hit 80.
Left most is Keleseth with his UK room as the background.
Middle is the top of Naxxanar (the necropolis in borean tundra) where you fought and hopefully didn't wipe on him. (I hate his damage return buff)
Right one would be Taldaram's 'floor' in the Old Kingdom.

Here are some clarifications on the ablities used in the encounter:
Kinetic Bomb
: More than 1 can spawn at a time and all must be juggled in the air in order to prevent a
intense raid damage
. It will most likely cause a wipe. The Kinetic Bomb can be pushed higher into the air with perodic damage, so DoTs can keep them in the air. (Hunter's Serpent Sting is ideal since they have a large range.)
Dark Nuclei
: These can spawn anywhere in the room during the encounter and must be damaged in order for them to latch onto a target. Any
nuclei
that spawn near the ranged tank seem to create an attraction and will automatically latch on. It's important for your ranged tank to grab more than three during the Keleseth's empowered phase as Dark Nuclei are constantly dieing having any less than 3 during his empowered phase is a
guaranteed death
. Also it's very important that your ranged tank build high threat on the Keleseth before he becomes empowered. It's somewhat troublesome when your having to run clear across the room to grab the nuclei and try and maintain high threat on him while dodging all of the other abilities. Your raid members can help you by misdirecting and using Tricks of the Trade on the ranged tank during the empowered phase in order to keep your threat lead.
Conjured Flame
randomly targets a raid member. It's important to note that this can also target Keleseth's Ranged Tank and I would assume any other tank as well. Dodge and kite.
Shock Vortex
: It's important for everyone to spread out when this ability is cast otherwise you'll suffer heavy physical damage and be knocked back.

Orb Management
These bosses have very low health for a reason. A lot of DPS are going to be split between the bosses and their orbs. I would say as long as the orb gimmicks are active, certain DPS will be off the boss and dealing with that. This is a fulltime job, and any slacking could wipe the raid.
Yellow Ball
There needs to be one dedicated ranged DPS to keep non-periodic, burst attacks on this orb. They can call out for more ranged assistance to get rid of it, but it is their job to look for and keep that orb from landing before switching DPS back to the current boss target.
Blue Balls (heh)
Kel's ranged tank needs to keep aggro on these and not kill them. Warlocks with drain / siphon life and DKs with anti-magic shield might be well-suited for this. If there's a hunter in the group, they should misdirect orbs onto this at all times. This should be their fulltime job if the ranged tank is having problems picking up orbs. DPS will make sure to not cleave these orbs down when focusing on Kel (stop all AOE).
Orange Ball
The easiest of the balls if there's competent melee DPS. When Kal casts his empowered fire orb, as many melee as possible will get ready to chase after it to absorb its damage. When that's done, move back to the boss.
Other tips:
-Val does a nasty empowered AOE that all melee DPS need to run from. They are not running from the boss so much as running from their teammates and the tank, as they explode and deal damage to themselves and anyone else close to them, which can add up fast if 3 dudes are sitting on top of each other. His big vortex is no problem as long as players stay away from it.
-Kel's empowered shadow bolts hit really hard. Lots of heals are needed on that tank.
-Tal is by far the easiest empowered phase as long as melee take care of his fire orb.
-These three bosses talk a lot of *!@# during the event. If you hear them yelling stuff, don't automatically assume that it's a response to a player they just killed. Just stay calm, stay alive and keep doing what you're doing.
-Know your role and don't sacrifice it to get some DPS on the boss. This will be a long fight if everyone is careful and short fight if everyone knows what they're doing or doesn't and wipes the raid. :)

Do note that if you don't have access to a Demo warlock, a frost mage with Magic Absorbtion will work fine. (Also a flask of lesser resistance can help.).
With all that and shadow prot or shadow prot aura, a mage can get 300 resistances which reduces the shadowlance a decent amount of damage.
If you really need to, you can get Frozen core, Arcane Shielding, and Prismatic cloak in some odd Arcane/frost spec to make a very good ranged tank. Oh, and Ice barrier helps a ton as well.

It appears his
Empowered Shock Vortex
was recently and quietly changed. No longer can you out range it as a healer or ranged dps, the whole raid takes the shock. Easily enough handled by everyone spreading out 8 yards or more from each other to prevent overlap of the aoe damage.

On heroic modes, "
Kinetic Bombs
" drop much faster (fall faster), and upon moving, a debuff called "
Shadow Prison
" is sometimes applied upon moving. This debuff can stack upon continued movement, and will until the debuff completely drops (from duration).

From a tanking perspective, there is an alternate way of doing things to the suggested strat of 2 tanks + 1 ranged dps tank.
This alternative method is to use an actual tank to replace your ranged tank on Keleseth. In a 10 man raid, your main tank should be able to tank Valanar and Taldaram together at the same time, and in a 25 man raid you bring 3 tanks anyway.
This may work better for some groups because many DPSers are unused to having to tank anything at all, and they have considerably less health leading to potential healer problems (it has happened for my guild a few times, for example).
No, your tank will not have good threat, but it won't be any worse than your ranged tank would be managing. DKs, paladins and bears are the best for this role as they have a spammable long-range attack to use on the dark nuclei to pick them up, so they can devote more time to attempting to build threat on Keleseth. Warriors can do it but will be spending far more time running around after the orbs to collect them.
edit - I speak of regular mode only here. On heroic you may not be able to get away with it on 10 man, but I couldn't say.

Quote from Lanthon on the ElitistJerk forum:
Prince Keleseth will cast a stronger version of his shadow bolt. By the time these start hitting, the ranged tank should have at least 3-4 dark nuclei on him. The shadow damage reduction is multiplicative, using the formula 1-(0.65^N) where N is the number of nuclei (see Ciopo's post on page 2). This gives a reduction of:
1 Nuclei: 35% shadow reduction
2 Nuclei: 58%
3 Nuclei: 73%
4 Nuclei: 82%
5 Nuclei: 88%
6 Nuclei: 94%
The tank can expect to consistently keep 4-5 nuclei.
In 10 man, according to this Wowhead article, the Empowered Shadow Lance dishes out ~80k dmg. This comes out to roughly:
3 Nuclei: 21.6k dmg taken
4 Nuclei: 15k
5 Nuclei: 10k
6 Nuclei: 5k
Imo, Keleseth OT's should shoot for 4+ orbs.

The first time our guild did this encounter after 3.3.3 went live, we found the doors on either side of this room to be lacking collision meshes during the encounter, read: half our raid got punted through the doors down the hallway. Luckily, we could run back through the door, but it scared us. It may just have been our raid, but do take heed if your tanks are used to tanking any of the Princes against the doors.

We do this encounter slightly different. Since there is so much going on for the dps to handle, we use one tank (me, a paladin) on both Valanar and Taldaram. I have a macro to replace my consecrate in 696 rotation, as consecrate plays havoc on the Dark Nuclei. This macro is: /cast Hammer of Wrath
I also use a macro to switch target and focus between Taldaram and Valanar whenever i need to switch boss.
This way "the other boss" is always on my focus. And since he has 1 health, i can spam Hammer of Wrath on him.
These bosses hit like little girls on 10 man normal, so using 1 melee tank and 1 ranged tank, frees up one dps or healer slot depending on where your raid is having issues (avoiding shocking vortex--> get an extra healer, cant keep bouncing balls up --> get an extra dps).

Downed this tonight for the first time, using the 2 tank method. Our main tank, a paladin, tanked Valanar and Taldaram on the stairs, while our DK tank ran around the room collecting orbs and keeping agro on Keleseth.
Issues to be aware of are that no aoe and maybe even light dps should be done to Keleseth while he is empowered. As a ret pally I would take that part of the fight to either help top people off (we 2 healed this) or I would use single target attacks while avoiding things like divine storm or consecrate so as to not rip nuclei off the Kel tank.
We popped hero when Taldaram became empowered. Had a hunter on kinetic bomb duty, and melee chasing empowered fireballs when needed. Also having your tank healer know where the tanks have to move around to to avoid "slinkies of death" (shock vortices) helps. Our second best attempt was ended when our main tank got blown one way and her healer blown the other direction from a vortex.
This fight is really just a matter of surviving through all the craziness and just getting it down. It will take some wipes if you're just starting it, so good luck.

Did this on 10 man using 3 tanks which seems kind of absurd but the enrage timer is really forgiving for this fight. We had one tank for each boss with a DK tank on Keleseth. We used him because of his high health pool even though he doesn't have 100% great tank gear.
On 25 man we actually had to organize things but used the same tank method. All melee stays on the stage throughout the encounter. The first melee group go to the left side of the stage on Empowered Shock Blast, and the second melee group go the right side. Ranged are also spread out by sides with Group 3 on the left side of the room and group 4 on the right. Group 5 is our healer group and they went depending on who they had to heal. The flame tank took his own healer and went off to the right side of the stage on the steps but when the flame boss got empowered he would drag his boss up the steps to where the other boss was being tanked so that melee and that tank could absorb the fire orb and not have to move so much. Really the key to the fight is minimizing movement as much as possible which just requires an organized raid.

I am an Elemental shaman in our guild. Just wanted to point out that I was using
Searing Totem
to keep the
Kinetic Bombs
from touching the ground. Piece of cake, you run up to the bomb, you plant the totem and it keeps attacking the
Kinetic Bomb
for a whole minute.The
Kinetic Bomb
will not touch the ground. Every shaman in the raid can do this.
We had 2 shamans in the raid, I dropped a
Searing Totem
at
Kinetic Bomb 1
, and the other (resto) shaman dropped one at
Kinetic Bomb 2
. Made the encounter quite easy and we were able to dps/heal a lot more this way.

Defeated this encounter on Apr. 23, 2010 using a setup with two traditional tanks, three healers, and five DPS:
Tank 1, Paladin -- tanked both Valanir and Taldaram in the center of the room.
Tank 2, Death Knight -- held threat on Keleseth while running around and collecting Dark Nuclei.
Healers: Druid, Paladin x 2.
DPS: S.Priest, Paladin, Mage x 2, Hunter.
With four ranged DPS, we divided the room into quadrants for purposes of keeping Kinetic Bombs floating. One ranged class was responsible for keeping KBs airborne in each quadrant.

I tank both melee bosses and a mage holds the third boss, the extra dps seriously makes this an easy and fast fight.
But then us bears are a little OP right now in ICC ^^ 77K health buffed makes a big difference, still got 32% dodge and 35K armour so why not try your bear out on these dudes and let your dps play :)

A mix between Kael'thas (lolsetback) and the Illidari Council, with a little twist. Mark all three targets before engaging. While a warlock tank is good for the shadow boss, my raid had no problem having the main tank on the shadow prince and having the off-tank take the other two.
Basically, this fight is all about orbs (whether collecting or killing or running from) and AoE. It is a simple fight for the off-tank, if they are taking the two on the right, although if you are tanking these mobs then you will want to save your cooldowns for the empowered nova. DPS should simply alternate from target to target as their health bars swap. As for heals, this fight is 2-healable but if you have a warlock tank/3rd tank or have enough DPS, you can use a third.
Valanar also happens to be the only one of the Princes who was not defeated in a 5-man instance.

A little tip, most often not being noted, is that you can easily set pets on the kinetic bombs. Get your hunters/warlocks/death knight's to do the trick, shadowfiend is a nice fallback when in danger.
Also, to have the best benefit of Heroism/Bloodlust, your shaman should use it when on Prince Taldaram (the right, fire one). Reason? Movement on the center one due to spreading, and the left (shadow) might want to be low on treath due to tank running.

As i currently noticed in Blizz bug notes for the 3.3.5 patch they FINALLY realized that this encounter has an odd bug...
It is not very annoying in normal modes but in heroic you can wipe simply because of this. Kinetic Boms are loving to fall behind the doors, and your raid suddenly face a lots of bolts coming out from nowhere, knocking you out of space, stacking up the Shadow Prison or let your Keleseth tank lose his Shadow Resonance. (wiped because this 4 times in a row, duh)
I wonder why has it been only noticed in 3.3.5, when it was reported lots of times. Alas, i am happy to see it fixed finally...
