These frequent the Shrine of Remulos in your nightmare, caused by a spell cast on you for the quest Hope Within the Emerald Nightmare.

They possess a generic appearance, but when you pull them (by means of agro or attack) they change to look like a shadowy version of your current model / skin.

They do not hit very hard, and are subject to common forms of crowd control.

No matter what form these creatures take they seem to be limited to Just melee actions. Also note that they can take the appearance of both you or your pet (if you have one that is).

While leveling my shaman I happened to do this quest. When they say take form of anything, they mean anything. I accidentally pulled with my strength of air totem so the mob was just sliding around on the ground as a totem. I wonder... if you pull with a costume on would it take the costume form or your real form?

Leveling my warrior with dual Arcanite Reaper heirloom weapons... and the very first one of these guys I attacked had him using one Reaper, and the heirloom staff in his offhand :P The rest of them seemed to get it right.

the shattered logs that they drop 2-3 of every time sell pretty decently.

I got 5g just killing a few that were in my way.
