He can be rooted as a druid. Be careful with using the hammer - if you use it more than a couple of times, you get a message saying "the hammer knocks some of the rust off the watcher" and he speeds up, making him harder to kite.

It took me a couple of tries, but the strategy that worked best for me was roots and stuns, kiting and using the hammer as a last resort to get out of trouble. He hits hard though.

Couple things being left out by these posts (especially for non-kite classes)

The warhammer you pick up will also do major damage to the Watcher each time it is used. You can pull, use the hammer, run away, use the hammer, run away, and repeat.

After each hammer use he does speed up, so you have to book it a little to keep out of melee range.

After about 5 strikes with the hammer (roughly 50% of the Watcher's Health) you will get an emote saying that the Watcher begins to charge blindly because you've smote its eyes out. Get out of the way, as the Watcher will charge directly from wherever it is, to the edge of the platform.

At that point the Watcher will be stunned in place for several seconds. Hit him one last time with the hammer and it will knock him off the ledge, killing him.

No need to ever actually attack the Watcher yourself. This appears to be the intended method for completing the quest.

Extremely fun fight, similar to a game of very large cat and very tiny mouse.

Had little trouble as a 78 Affliction Lock, throwing the hammer AND casting DoTs. It's true, the DoTs aren't completely necessary, that's what the hammer is for, but Siphon Life and Haunt were useful when I strayed too close to the giant and got stepped on.

Point of advice: Stay as far away from his feet as possible. Like a real giant, his feet are big. Getting stepped on will hurt. A lot. With the DoTs, I killed before he even needed to charge me after 5 hits.

Hex also works, and it's fun to see the enourmous giant turn into a tiny frog :)

That 100k health goes really fast; I swear I was hitting him three times harder than I hit most things.

What I did was (Spriest) was get the hammer, pull him, and yes, kite him. For the pull, I put down all my DoTs. Then, run down the whole bridge thing, renewing your instant DoTs whenever you have to. When you get to the end and he's running you down, you can pull off a couple of spells, then use the hammer. While he's stunned, run past him and repeat. And the only problem i got was from that stomp-thing of his.

Very easy to kill him, i just solo it as balance drood, summon treants, then root him, and start dps if the root fail use nature's grasp , put hots on you and start dps again

Lol, never noticed there was a hammer, well soloed him as a lvl 78 balance druid without any problems, also soloed him with a 78 elemental shaman. fun fight indeed.

For shamans, just kite him around with some shocks and LB's then he is as good as dead, for druid just root him and shoot him.

When you get of the eagle, look left and loot the hammer. Throw hammer at The Iron Watcher and attack with regular moves until hammer comes back up. It's easy. Tip for hunters- concussive shot him when he comes out of being stunned.serpent sting also works on him although pretty much useless.

As a hunter
1]Sick pet on him and shoot distracting shot. (walk backwards to middle of platform)
2]When he gets close enough throw the hammer.
3]Run under him and keep running
4]When hammer is ready stop and wait for him to catch up and throw again.
5] Repeat steps 3 and 4

Just use hammer where u landing and kite him and dont stay him front when he goes insane easy one gl

Every time you throw the hammer at him a emote will appear
first:

As the hammer lands, more rust shakes free from the iron watchers frame and its pace quickens.

after that you will get this:

The Iron Watcher roars with fury, shaking more rust from its ancient frame.

after a few of the above emotes you will get a large one.

The iron watcher reels, reaching to its now useless eyes and charges blindly

when this happens if he runs toward the edge of the bridge where the hammer was he will sit there like he is about to fall.
At this point you throw the hammer one last time and you get

The Iron Watcher looses its footing under the furious blow.

You get a funny little scene were he falls off the cliff and you get a quest complete. Soloing it is fun but watching him fall with like 50% health left to his death is a bit funny to watch.

Did it super easy on an 80 Spriest in 100% PvP gear, took 3 hits with the hammer and a couple trips through my rotation. Easy peasy.
