Kind of easy quest in the start, just killing random normal mobs that the bird flyes in to. But in the end, a 65 elite spawns. I also got a mob on me at the time, and had no chance. The Elite is pretty hard. So I guess 2 players really are a good idea.

PS: Smart doing this quest with the "Veli Shalas: Signal Fires"

This quest may be bugged because it bugged out twice for my tauren warrior (lvl 70) and once for my dwarf hunter (lvl 65) ... never completed it though. Talked to a GM about it and he said that the quest could not be completed.

Confirmed. The bird stucks at the first monster after jumping down on another platform.
Done it after 2 tries, just be sure you killed the monster, nearest to the landing spot or ask your friend/guildmate to kill it for you, 'cause these birds spawn quite fast. Good luck! 8)

I could complete the quest by clearing the lower platform (where you have to jump down on) in advance.

Interestingly I was able to pull the mobs from above. They then followed a really weird path along the mountain side onto the upper platform (a player character would have fallen down).

So even without assistance or a flying mount you should be able to clear the lower platform in advance that way.

As of January 1, 2008, the quest is not bugged in the least. Very smooth.

Also of note, the 65+ at the end is immune to fear.

As of January 3, 2008, the quest is STILL bugged just as described above. If you kill the particular mob ahead of time, however, it does work.

Completed this as a 64 combat rogue, failed 3 times due to Skywing bugging after jumping down, so before the 4th try I started by clearing all mobs the way Skywing goes and then I went back and started the quest, it was a free ride!

Completed it yesterday. If you don't know his route, just follow him until he gets stuck, then abandon the q and start it all over, this time making sure you clear the platform where he gets stuck before he goes there. Miniwing for the win!

I just completed the quest about 5 minutes ago (on January 8, 2008) and Skywing did not bug out on me. I did not clear the platform a head of time and it still ahd mobs on it when I reached it so I think it might have been fixed in this morning patch.

skywing semi worked for me today cept for the fact he never healed to full. so he went down fast on the elite.

Remember that there are normal mobs around where he summons the elite, beware of the others, I aggroed a normal one just before he summoned the elite, and had to kill 2 normal mobs and the elite...

Here is a effective strategy for farming Arakkoa Feathers for Lower City rep if you have not already turned in the quest Skywing

Feathers can be turned in to Vekax for these quests:
The Outcast's Plight 250 rep
More Feather's 250 rep (Repeatable up to Honored)

Lower City Rep is used to obtain Auchenai Key a requirement for The Keymaster achievment
It can be bought at honored from Nakodu

1. Talk to Skywing to start escort
2. Follow Skywing - kill mobs and loot any feathers that drop
3. At end point of escort Luanga the Imprisoner will spawn
4. Kill Luanga and loot feathers (he has by far the highest drop rate over 90%)
5. DO NOT TURN IN QUEST
6. Farm more feathers off regular mobs while waiting for Skywing to respawn.
7. Drop completed quest then go back to step one.

I think it's bugged too. After he jumps, he just stands there. -.- I tried the quest twice, and he's done that both times. *cries* I want the bird! @_@

Okay, I got mine at the 4th attempt; By accident, I fell down to the lower platform too early, (meaning BEFORE the bird), and suddenly, the bird didn't "freeze"... Could it really be, that this is the solution to the bug?
Could anyone please try it out and write here on Thotty if it works or not?

Yes, if u jump down before the bird does, it doesnt get bugged, thats my experience at least.

Bugged for me too. Second time, I jumped as the bird jumped/flew cause couldnt catch up but still bugged. So, definately try to jump before bird jumps. I give up though

went back tried again, this time i jumped off before the bird, the bird helped me kill two mobs, then just froze, so jumping off first didnt work for me

i found out that u have to have exactly 2 people in ur group to complete the quest by that i mean u and a friend. first send ur friend to guard skywing then u try to clear the way for skywing and yes have one pperson be on the ledge where he goes on before him or it will not work then u have to kill a elite after u reach the 4 platform simple dps will take him. good luck.

ok i finnaly figured this out ok get at least 3 people for this ok assigh one dude to guard the bird then have u and another people help clear the spaces ahead of time before u start the quest also when he ask u to jump down jump down before him and before that clear the bottom part where u land then clear the next platform then a 65 elite will pop up make sure ur back is facing the structure of the qwall or he will knock u off and other then that hes a easy kill. lol ive done this 24 times because it took me a long time to figure everything out. hope this helps if u still need help im : player name: kaelthalas server: vek'nilash

Yeah, bugged quest, but easily completable if you know what to do.

Skywing will take you up the ramp and through the tree to platform 1, which has three mobs on it. He then crosses the bridge to platform 2, which also has three mobs. Next he jumps down to platform 3 which has two mobs and finally he crosses the bridge from 3 to platform 4 which has two more mobs and is where the elite spawns.

It is at the jump from 2 to 3 that the quest is bugged. There needs to be NO mobs on platform 3 when he makes this jump.

To get around this, run up to platform 3 BEFORE accepting the quest and clear, at a minimum, the mob closest to the Skettis cliff face. If you kill both mobs on platform 3, make sure the cliff side one is the LAST killed. Then quickly run down and start the escort.

When you reach platform 2, look down on platform 3 BEFORE clearing 2 and see if there are respawns. If you've moved quick enough there shouldn't be any but with a little luck, only the one closest to platform 2 will be there. He can be pulled from above and will follow the weird path mentioned above to platform 2. Kill him there.

When Skywing falls to platform 3 he will pause for a little bit then fly around and cross the bridge to platform 4. Use this time to pull the two mobs on 4 onto the bridge as Skywing may ignore them and spawn the boss when you are not ready. If you've killed these and Skywing still hasn't moved from where he dropped down it's time to abort and reset.

The number of people in your group doesn't matter (well, more helps to kill the final boss) but platform 3 must be completely clear BEFORE Skywing falls to it or the quest will bug out.

Completed it twice last night following this plan.

This quest is BUGGED for me.

After I jumped down onto the lower platform and helped Skywing kill another Arakkoa, Skywing just STOOD there flapping its wings in midair without moving. For minutes on end.

i just did the quest today and it was not buged i solo'ed it as a 70 hunter with only season one glad gear not tht hard they muct have fixed it

Tried to solo this quest as a 66 hunter. Failed the first attempt because the elite knocked me off the platform. Second attempt went like a charm, because I used less shots and healed pet more.
