no instance, violet eye rep is only obtainable by doing karazhan and karazhan related quests

Some changes occured to Karazhan, the now-ghost town surrounding the tower of Medivh, located in Deadwind Pass. There is a small dialogue that occurs between Archmage Alturus, Archmage Leryda, and Apprentice Darius, three members of The Violet Eye, "a secret sect of the Kirin Tor founded to spy on Medivh and his activities." (Quote taken from the reputation screen, once you have interacted with the faction)

Archmage Alturus: Blasted scrying crystal! I'm not getting anything over here.

Apprentice Darius: S-sir... have you tried giving the crystal a good shake? It's possible that the ley-lines are clouding up the reading.
<Alturus /points at Darius, Darius /shrugs>
Archmage Alturus: I ought to give your head a good shake! I've a feeling the ley-lines are clouding up your brain. No, Darius, what we need is a large depository of mineral-heavy water. Even faint arcane signals will accumulate in sulphur and lime.
Apprentice Darius: S-sorry, sir.
Archmage Leryda: Don't be so harsh on the child, Alturus. Remember that Cedric himself assigned him to you.

Archmage Alturus is the only mob you can interact with, and when you do there are two dialogues he gives, as follows.

"Archmage Alvareux once wrote a treatise exploring a fascinating theory. He proposed the existence of an exact copy of our Karazhan in a world other than our own and that both somehow shared the same space.

He went mad soon after. A real pity."

"Karazhan is more than a mere building, <Name>. If you traced the ley-lines traversing Azeroth you would find that they all converge right about there.

<Archmage Alturus points at an invisible spot below the tower.>

Fascinating, isn't it?"

Now a bit of spoiling/speculation. First, about the ley lines converging under the tower. If you are a Hunter like me, or a Shaman with the similar spell to Eagle Eye, where you can project your vision, if you put it onto the tower and spin your camera to the appropriate angle where you can see through the textures, under the tower on the ground is a smily face the designers put there as a bit of humor.

Now the speculation. So this guy's scrying crystal won't work. He suggests finding a large body of mineral rich water. Anyone that has done some exploring in the Crypt under the tower like myself, (the Crypt was accessible until patch 2.0.1, by dying next to the gate and rezzing on the other side; the gate itself being in the Karazhan graveyard, die if you want to find it,) knows where this is going. In the crypt under the tower is a very LARGE dungeon. Huge, with obvious rooms and areas staged for boss encounters. It is very morbid, skeletons and skulls etc. What really stands out down there, and I think this guy is referring to as a "body of mineral rich water" is the Room of the Upside Down Sinners.

This room is cavernous. It is filled with water. You come into the room at the top of the room and it extends down below you, the water just barely to the ceiling. To paint the picture of how big it is, if there had been no water and you instead fell into the room, you'd inevitably die from fall damage at the bottom. Very large, very wet. And in this water, is thousands of dead people, upside down, attached to hooks and chains that anchor them to the bottom, so that they float upwards suspended there, upside down. Yikes.

So upon entering either of the three instance portals that offer access to Karazhan, you are given the message, "You must be level 68 and have the Master's Key to enter." So there is an attunment involved, and I think it's going to involve taking Alturus' scrying crystal to the *gulp* Upside Down Sinners, defeating all sort of nasties, and thus attuning ourselves to the alternate dimension where the other Karazhan that Archmage Alvareux went crazy trying to prove existed.

And for those of you wondering where exactly the three portals that provide access are? Well there is the obvious one at the base of the tower guarded by the three Mages of the Violet Eye. There is a second entrance from the stables to the East of the tower, that enters the tower somewhere in the middle. And again for the classes that can project their vision, on the rooftop is a portal that exits the tower to a Flight Path complete with Gryphons, though no flight master is present. Presumably this third one is for raid groups that complete the instance and do not want to run again to the bottom to exit.

I'm attaching screenshots of the mobs to emails for Allah, so those should be up soon.

Oh and be mindful of the ghosts, they are no longer level 55+ but 70, and make quick work of anyone that gets within 20 yards. Feign Death if you got it ;)

Chromatic flask is still not up at TBC patch 2.5.2 (Year 2021) probably comes with SSC/TK release (14 sept).

As of Sep 17 2021, still only selling Inscription of Endurance and Design: The Frozen Eye.
I'm looking for the Mysterious Arrow. Any idea when that might become available?
