Just killed it with my sunwell geared shadowpriest. Should say he should be easily soloed with almost every class capable of range dd. Looks like his movespeed is only a bit faster than character standart + minor speed. So if you manage to reduce him to 50% or less by the time you reach the open road you should be good.

got destroyed as a level 70 21/40 warlock in T6 gear. hits for 1,500 non-crit on cloth, immune to fear/death coil/howl of terror.

Confirmed, he's very easily kiteable if you know what you're doing.

Soloed him on my S3 Mage with nothing more then Fire Blast and a Blink/Scorch combo. Immune to Frost Nova, Dragon's Breath but Ice Armor does work on him. Its very hard on the mana so you will need mana potions or anything to restore mana. Hits for around 1.2-1.5k

I found him extremely easy to kill with a T6 geared shadowpriest. Just stacked up dots and VE, shielded myself every 15 seconds and nuked him down. No kiting required.

Very easy to solo as a lvl 80 Rogue (to the point where I wonder if I could have taken him at 70). If he does anything "deadly" he didn't live long enough to do it ;)

He is immune to Hibernate, and Entangling Roots. Probably most other forms of crowd control too.

Fortunately, still soloable at lv 60 provided you're playing a class capable of kiting.

Soloed on 9/20/2006 by a 60 hunter... Dissappointing drops.

Just kite it. My initial idea was to kite it to Everlook and get some help from the guards :D

Well, the guards didn't pay any interest (maybe I didn't get close enough to them, or maybe I had to kite it inside the town to trigger them). Anyway, by the time we got there the monkey already was at about 50% hp, so I just circled around the town shooting SS and Arcane as needed. Went down after 4-5 circles, easy as that. The whole area (road & around the town) is free of mobs, making a nice kiting path. As for getting to the road from the starting spot, just put Track Giants on and keep out of their aggro radius.

Figures I was gonna try and slow him, since there's no comment about that.

You can't so mages can't solo him.
Also immune mot stun, prob fear aswell.

And also the items are one time use, so if you fail, you have to abandon the quest and go down to Tanaris and get it again.

While the Everlook guards will attack it if they notice the fight, they can't trap it in nets or slow it like they do with some enemies, and they don't last very long if Number Two starts hitting them.
