I just ran into the mob. He spawns 3-4 other ghosts with him, and boy do they hurt. I'm level 70 and was in my DPS (Read: Cat) gear at the time. I had about 9.7k hp and 10.4k armor and they blew through it like I was cloth. Not sure why they hit so hard. They also do an AoE frost spell like Frost Nova. Not fun.

The 3-4 adds and the said boss wander off in the direction of the living part of Stratholme (Scarlet Strat) if you don't aggro them (e.g. a rogue or druid in stealth triggers them, but does not aggro).
One strategy for stealthers to solo this boss is therefore to trigger the spawn, but only pull the boss once the adds fly off - pull fast however as once the boss reaches the nearby trash there's a very real danger of pulling those along as well. To add my perspective, I had no problems killing the boss as a moonkin spec druid, as its health is rather low (10k-ish).

lol this guy is a joke at lvl 70 im a prot spec warrior that was farming shards in strat and he spwned as i walked by him he had 4 adds and a patchwork horror started attacking me i killed all of them as well as this semi boss without going under 80% health at lvl 70 this guy is cake. I dont know why all those druids complained about him is it because they cnat dodge casters?

I got unlucky with a patrol and an eye. After I died he ran off towards the live/Scarlet side of the instance. It would appear if you fail to kill him, you have to reset the instance for another shot.

Where exactly is this boss, I ran the alley he should be, I only saw him once when a naxxramas eye also me and I died fast.. other than that, I always get attacked by it's four adds.. is he invisible? does he patrol and not aggro me? :P

One thing I would note about this mob is that is has ridiculously high dodge. Even at level 70, he had to have been dodging 75% of my attacks. Piece of cake though.

I know you said you don't know how long the respawn timer on this boss is, but how long were you in the instance for? I was in stratholme earlier and killed this boss and about 10-15 minutes later the 4 adds would spawn but no boss.

The name "The Unforgiven" is a reference to a Metallica song. :D

The Unforgiven is the only boss I can think of that can respawn within the same instance. His timer is much longer than his adds' (c.f., 復仇的魅影), probably on the order of an hour or two, but on several occasions I've killed him two or even three times without having to reset. Not that many people have reason to hang out in Stratholme for hours on end, but, you know, in case you are.

Worth noting that a warlock's Eye of Kilrogg can be used to trigger The Unforgiven's spawning from just after the rat trap, with the result that The Unforgiven will make a beeline for your location without any adds and without aggroing anything that it passes by onto you, allowing you to fight it all by itself.

He spawned tonight, on Sargeras, on a guild Strath run....we were unable to kill him as we were almost-wiping, he fled and we assume he de-spawned.

When we were on our way to take a postmaster box in the baron-part of strat he spawned right before Hearthsinger Forresten, Dropped the mask for us..

The comments above may have been right at one point. They may still be, since I've never tried the absurd procedure outlined there. It may be that poster was just trying to yank your chain. But reading the above posts you'd think that you have to do that process to get him, or that he just shows up randomly somehow, somewhere, because the other posters didn't bother to mention that bit.

Here is how you find The Unforgiven every single time: Go through the rat gate. This is the one where the gates close for a minute and the rats come out. Everybody passes through this on their standard Strath boss runs. You know the one.

But then everybody takes a LEFT to go to the Bastion. What you want to do is take a RIGHT. There's a slight hill there, and an arch that leads to the next section of street. PASSING THROUGH THAT ARCH SPAWNS THE UNFORGIVEN. Period. Every single time I have done this, he has spawned. He may have been rare originally, but he sure isn't anymore.

He shows up with about six easy adds that go down with one or two AOE's, and he's a pushover too. There are two standard groups of trash mobs between the rat gate and that arch, and a Stitches patrols that street too. Note that every time you pass through that arch it will spawn a bunch of ghosts, but only the first time through will it spawn The Unforgiven. So keep your low-IQ raid members from just blundering through it.

That's it. If you want the Unforgiven it takes 5 minutes from the usual direct run.

Skul also does not have this ridiculous summoning process. He's either there or he isn't, and he'll show up about 1 in 2-4 runs from what I've observed. He is either at Fras Siabi's dead end (take a left and a left, opposite end of the rat gate street), or he is in Festival Lane (big open area filled with trash mobs, take a right turn when you come in for the shortest route to it, and you can usually see him from the gate there--but Strath is basically a big circle, and you can also get to it if you pass through the Unforgiven arch and just keep going).

THE best way to see all the Strath street bosses is to just do the Postmaster, as you will generally have to traverse almost all the Strath streets and see The Unforgiven, Magistrate Barthilas, Postmaster Malown, plus Skul and Hearthsinger if they're spawned. Hearthsinger is almost always spawned somewhere and he can spawn multiple times in one run--but the direct run takes you by only ONE of his spawn points, which is directly in front of the rat gate.

By doing a Postmaster run on the streets you'll get double the loot from the standard direct run, and your clothwearers, mages particularly, will love you for it.

decebalus had the correct info. he spawns every time... every time. you just trigger him by running thru that certain archway.

he does frost spells and slowing effects... his adds die easily with aoe's.

Personally haven't decided to stealth to him yet, but I'm positive that with the other spawns that show up, you'll need to have some really nice gear... maybe even be level 70, unfortunately.

And at a low drop rate (15%-24%) it'll be lucky to find them on your first successful party into Strat.

And I don't have much more to add. Please, if you're a druid that has soloed for their Wildheart Gloves, please leave comments to my post.

Pretty sure he's not a rare spawn. He simply spawns BETWEEN Live and UD sides in Strat, and very few people come across the path he spawns on. You also gotta ask yourself, why would Blizzard make Tier armor drop off of a rare spawn?That's kinda ridiculous.

Ok- there is a lot of talk about how to spawn this guy and where to get him. I've run human strat a lot with my guild and we just started farming this guy. You DO NOT have to make an immediate right when you get to the end of the street at the entrance. Once you have made your way into the instance, and you pass the trap with the rats, you'll get to the fork in the road. The human side is to the left, you make a right. Work your way past two groups and you'll come to the back entrance of the massive courtyard. This is where he spawns all of the time. Hope this helps-

one of my guildies has been farming this guy for ages just so the gloves would drop, nearly every other blue item listed has dropped but not the wildheart gloves..could it be glitched since the last patch?

so far we have killed it about 11 times

There is a quest in strat to shot the citizens with a special gun. I dropped the quest but kept the gun because we shamans can use guns anyways and it fills a spot on my character. Anyways, while on a Live Strat Raid, I was gunning these citizens just for fun. While near the Postmaster, I shot one or two while my group was recovering, and this mob poped in out of nowhere. I am not sure, but I think when you shot the citizens there is a rare chance you'll spawn this. So, please help me test this by gunning those suckers down. BTW, it takes a few mins for the citizens spirits, which look like floating orbs, to materialize into a spectral monster.

Everyone says hes a rarespawn, but ive never not seen him. Hes betwen Scarlet and Baron side (still in undead side). If you go through front door, take a right at first intersection, up past the mailbox on right, where you go into the tunnel. You go into tunnel and 5 guys spawn, hes one of the 5. Just not many people go that way.

He's over by where you fight the Postmaster. I think he's rare.

If you get the curse that haunts you, there's a chance that it'll spawn. So don't dispell it i guess.
