Very nice offhand for fury warriors and rogues, and nice main hand for prot palas due to the high speed. But there are plenty of others sidegrade or improvements for the level; if it drops for you and you can't sell it, if the AH costs become too high, consider having it DEd, since the shard can be valuable.

And as said before, it looks awesome paired with the Bloodsail gear to attain a nice buccaneer look. xD

Well just think Mobbo you think a lv 31 going to have 40g? A twink wouldnt buy it...its not high enough for wsg or AB and nobody above about 36 would buy it because they could get better

The thing about the sword, it's not great damage-wise, but it's fast.Fast as HELL.

I have one of these paired up with an Annealed Blade also blue duel weilding 36 human warrior and they are bad A$$!

I really wanted the Speedsteel Rapier blade because it would have matched the 1.80 Speed with better DPS but i couldnt wait till level 36.

Purchased on AH for 15.5g Uldaman on 1/2/06

I bought this sword for 12g (Icecrown server) at level 29, to have as soon as I hit 31. It's okay for tanking so far, as I haven't found anything better. The proc rate is decent, and it does a fair amount of DPS for what I need it to do (not that I need a whole lot of DPS to sunder something anyways =P). About a 7 out of 10 for super-amazing weapons.

This dropped for me in SM, and I sold it for 50g on my server. man did that rock considering i am a lvl 32 hunter. i already have enough money for my lvl 40 mount, and the training! lol! just so u know, i get it from selling all the other blues that I get. as long as i dont need them. duh.

Drops only in Scarlet Monestary, pretty common, i've seen 4 drop. I won 2, sold them both 30g, not worth alot since there's better for 39 twinks and not eligible for Mongoose

I got this on my main and gave it to my rogue alt - pretty disappointing sword in terms of the proc rate on corruption, which is one of the lowest I've ever seen on a weapon. I used it for 4 levels on my rogue and I would bet that the corruption effect proc's at most 12-15 times in 4 levels of killing. It was at least one in 20 mobs or so before it went off (and for 45 damage it's hardly worth it). This was on a high AGI rogue (179 at 33) with the off-hand crippling poison proc'd a lot, but the corruption almost never.

Don't get the sword for the effect, it is a decent sword as is (though the max damage is not great), but the corruption effect you'll very rarely see compared to poison effects or bleed effects.

Someone mentioned the max dmg not being that high.

That is because it's got a speed of 1.90, that's the same as a slow dagger, and very very fast for a sword.

Makes a perfect off-hand sword for its level, in your mainhand you'd be best off getting a slow sword with a high max dmg for higher Sinister Strike / Heroic Strike crits.

omg, i was helping a group of people through cath for the quest for sword of omen, and this thing drops...i helped som more people the next day...and lol it drops again...i got it, cause noone wanted it! extra 15g isnt to bad :)

The proc rate of the Pierced Taint appears to be incredibly high. The streamer Cadet has demonstrated this in a couple of his videos (video 1, video 2) but I couldn't find actual numbers on this. Cadet's method of alternating between targets (see video 1) seems to be a good way to maximize proc uptime when fighting multiple foes.

The only bit of information I could find was that the proc used to be GCD blocked (i.e. the weapon could not proc during a global cooldown, so using abilities essentially made it proc way less) before 12/01/2020 and 4/20/2021 before it was fixed. Now it does proc even during GCDs, suggesting it may be somewhat stronger than prior to the fix.
