I wanted to verify that as of December, 2006, the mob and the want still exist.

I tried camping the SM GY for a couple of hours, but no named mobs respawned, just yard trash.

But I used my 60 hunter to zone in, clear enough to check the instance using tracking, and zone out. By using two people and disbanding / regrouping, you can reset the instance easily. I repeated this probably about 8 times before the mob spawned.

Dropped the wand for the shadow priest.

Just went in Scarlet Monastery with my level 39 warior. Killed the rare spawning dude and got the wand. It is BOP unfortunately. Sold it to a vendor for 66s or so.

This wand dropped the very first time with my pally going through and preist in the party needed and got it, and time after that the 2H sword drop off of another one of those elites

does shadow damage buffs from my gear affect my wands shadow damage, for example if i had a wand that did 30 - 60 shadow damage and a chest piece that increased shadow damages by 5 would my wand know do 35 - 65 shadow damage

Does this guy still respawn here? I can't find him, I've ran the dungeon like 100 times. Does it need to be in a group? And does it need to be on heroic?

This instance is not heroic, lol. Also, you do not have to be in a group as i have seen and killed him on my 70 hunter solo farming this instance. It just is a rare spawn. You have to get lucky, some people can go in and get it in one or two runs and some take 100 runs to see him! But the latter probably just did not see him a few times he was acually there.

My very clever boyfriend pointed out to me, the talent "Shadow Weaving" in the shadow priest talent tree, "Causes your TARGET to be vulnerable to Shadow DAMAGE."

So AFTER the debuff proccs it will increase the damage that your wand does as well as any other sources of shadow damage. :)

He also pointed out that if you get your shadow spells locked down by kick or other interupt you probably will want a wand of a different school of magic. :(

He makes good sense. :)

he's a rare boss so don't flip if u don't see he it's a random spawn inside the undead area so if u are farming for him just stop go back out reset and go in till he's there

in SM Graveyard, you cant miss him, u cant miss ANYONE in GY

I rolled an alt dwarf priest, spec'd all points into shadow and solo'd this area at 37.

i could never find a SM group that would go to GY (usually just arm/cath), so I tried solo'ing it for this wand (the shadow dmg on the wand is amplified from Shadow Weaving >.>)...

it's really straightforward to solo this area, and easy if you're full shadow spec with imp. vamp. embrace

1) hallway - first few mobs, 30ish elites, are not in packs, only one at a time, just do massive DPS

2) torture room - wait for a single patrol (mindvision some mobs to find out where he is), and pull him back into the hall - dps

3) The boss in this area (the named torturer that yells out NAUGHTIE SECRETS!) is the hardest part of the soloing...try to sneek by the group to the left of the doorway into LoS with the named torturer and the extra mob next to him - MC the mob, and let him kill it. When it dies and he comes after you, shield, run back into the hall all the way to near where you start, and dps him down. I had to fear a few times, desperate prayer, and health pot to kill him, but it wasnt that bad.

4) sneek back into the torture room, and mindsooothe all the mobs and run by them, but keep a good distance so you dont "accidentally" aggro

5) mindsoothe or MC/DPS the 2 mobs before the actual GY zone

6) GY - most of the mobs here are undead, so if it's a pack of non-elite ghosts, just shackle one and blast the other 2, then the 3rd. if its a black shade, dps it heavy, and when he summons an illusion, just target it and wand it quick (1 shot), if its a zombie dood, dps it. depending on your level, you can skip a few groups if you're careful, just be mindfull of where things are. There is also a patrol that goes from one end of the main walkway to where the GY actually starts, and it rotates what it actually is (a 3pack, zombie, or shade)...

another thing, if you get this far, is to try and Mind Vision a mob far down the path and look around for The Sleepless guy...he is either in 1 of the 2 concrete box thingys 1/2 way down the path, or to either side of the final underground enterance, in the corner usually. Sometimes it's harder to see him if you Mindvision, so you have to look closely. everytime i'd get to the fountain, i'd do /tar Sleep, /tar Iron, and /tar Champ , to see if any of the rares were up

ps - bring lots of water, and a mana/hp pot too, you'll burn all of your mana every time you fight one of these things, and end up wanding the last 10%...

me and my friend have been trying to get this wand for 3 days, i use eye of kilrogg and go up to the graveyard (from the first corridor) and check if hes there or not, checking also the entrance of the tomb, he only showed up a total of 4 times, and always dropped the pants :/, after i see hes not there after i send eye of kilrogg, i reset the instance and try again...when im limited i just go play dota or something, and then i try again to see if this sleepless guy is there, its really frustrating, we've also tried to kill those single mobs where some ppl said it may spawn, but it was unsuccessful :/
