If you are a rogue, this dagger is not the greatest thing possible. The poison can really screw you over if you are low on health and gouge someone to bandage, only to find out that the poison broke the gouge. This frustrated me so much that I bought a lower level green dagger and vendored this one.

Possible to solo at 28. The mob is very tough (harder then Viscous Fallout), I died several times before studying combat log. Thats what I found:
1. Life at least 3,5k
2. Using rupture (even improved) doesnt help, no significant difference in dmg noticed
3. Poisons do 100-150 dmg out of 3500
4. Somehow surprise attack is impossible, he always saw me 1st even when I had 5 in MoD talent.
5. Uses shadow-based attack which always does 50dmg, stacks so that out of 1550 dmg dealt on my rogue in a particular case, 950 was normal dmg and 600 - shadow.
So the solution came as using shadow protection potions, much like nature protection on Princess.

SO:
1. Needed:
- shadow protection pot - 1 per attempt
- superior healing pot - same
- strong alcohol - 5 per attempt recommended
- water breathing pot recommended
2. Tactics:
- stealth all the way to forgotten pools, takes 5-10 min
- clear the mob at the entrance to Serrakis cave (crab or reptile) unless you use water breathing potion, then you can just sneak by and kill boss inside cave
- drink shadow protect and alcohol (but not attack immediately, potions on same CD with healing)
- position yourself at the entrance under surface, but w/o breathing bar.
- pull Serrakis when he approaches. He moves in circles around natural column (so that cave effectively has 2 entrances). I used dynamite to pull, deals a bit of additional dmg (if you engineer)
4. I used Evasion immediately, after some time drank potion.
5. Recommend agro something and just die then repeat, because stealthing in, out and in again is a long way which drives people crazy

PS: Shadow protection potion:
- absorbs 600-1200 dmg, meaning it lasts for 1 fight only, dont try kill the boss again with same potion buff, wont be enough
- requires Grave moss and KIngsblood. Best place to get them (along with recipe) at this lvl is western cemetery in Duskwood. Moss also spawns in 1-2 spots in the Barrens and Wetlands

Drop chance is 16%. Good luck.

i was gonna aim for this but i was killin ^&*! in hillsbrad and blackfang dropped then remembered how stun locking pwns in pvp so its obsolete as well duel a diff dagger maybe the one off the bird in westfall and metoer shard

note to self: solo Serra'kis and put this as my offhand with meteor shard as main hand. assassination rogue, level 32 (well, like 3 bars from 32) and tha would be sick, just because of the speed

Does some1 know the chance of proc going of?
Beacuse if it does it ruins your gouge!
And if it ruins ur gouge it will make a significant amount of dmg loss.
(Backstab at this lvl is usally about 170-400)

I had this combo on my rogue (offhand Bite of Sera'kis, mainhand Meteor Shard) and both had fiery enchants. Man! I mean, MAN! I did a ton of damage. As a comparison, I was grouping with a same-level Pally from my guild. Damage Meter showed my rogue's damage compared to the pally's damage. My rogue would do more than 4 times the damage of the pally. Of course, the numbers aren't necessarily fair since the first 4 strikes (at least) were mine because it was in our best interest for me to ambush and backstab before the pally came into the fight. These figures become less and less anomolous as the groups got larger since the damage info was accumulated for several monsters. But still, the numbers don't lie. I was dealing 200 - 400, plus procs and poison on an average strike while he was dealing around 30 - 100 per strike, plus dots. A sample comparison looked like this: Pally total damage 550, rogue total damage 2300.

Meteor Shard and Bite of Sera'kis is an excellent combination. I used these two until around level 40 - 44 when I replaced them with Coldrage and Widowmaker. I currently have Seering Needle and Shadowblade in the bank waiting for me to level up to around 47.

I was yelled at for rolling need on my warrior, I won and the rogue in the group went running around in trade chat saying that I ninja'd this from him and he was laughed at. In instances you get items that help you level and being fury, this was an amazing offhand weapon because of its 1.30 speed. Please rogues, do not yell at warriors for rolling need on this, this weapon is as good for a rogue as it is for a warrior... this is a terrible main hand so I do not see a rogue wanting this for BS or Ambush because it hits like a paper fan, you want slow weapons in main hand and fast weapons in off hand, so this is a strictly offhand weapon that is equally good for warriors and rogues.

Yeh. You know what helps HUGE? Get the Raptorbane Armor from the quest in the Wetlands. +30 attack power against beasts will help a lot against Old Serra.

You warriors think you need every freaken weapon in the game just cuz you can use about everything. Rogues need daggers more because they have less options. They have more restrictions. Rogues need a fast off hand a lot more than a warrior does. It's like a warrior needing the Blackened Defias Body because of the stamina even though it's part of a rogue set. Needing it in front of any other leather user would be quite rude too.

So all you warriors out there...give that dagger to freaken rogues.

This weapon IS dualwieldable indeed. I recommend using this in offhand if you are a rogue though. The procs damage does break the gouge-effect, but not other stuns.

For warriors this is a really great offhand/tankingweapon!
Tanking: Proc = damage= threat, fast rage
Offhand = damage and good rage

This item is 100% useless for all other classes, proc doesnt go off in druidforms, and paladins cant wear daggers.

And about Toxic Revenger, which indeed is better than this, it is soloable ~27-30 lvl. This is propably doable 25+.

Serra'kis itself isnt tameable, and this item isnt sold anywhere either. :)

Drops of Ols Serra'kis in the underwater pool beneath Kelris's room in Black fathom. I have killed him twice now with no evail. (for the dagger that is) He has dropped the cloak both times. My brother has also killed him, and he also got the cloak to drop; no dagger. Hope this helps.

It's probbaly best offhand for dagger rogue twink (beside Vendetta, which is very hard to get and really costs huge money). I got this in 1st run, soloed the nessie that drops it. With fiery on this and Toxic, which I use as mainhand, it's really painful for the allies :D
