My friend has one of these on his rogue. We put it in his main hand to see how often it would go off with all of his instant attacks, and it is extremely rare. It's in his offhand now, soon to be replaced. Its DPS is still nice, but if you can't decide between this and something else, know that the proc on this happens once in a blue moon.

Although it says that this is a boss drop, I actually got it from a lockbox which I pickpocketed in Alterac Mountains. This is a really nice dagger for a rogue.

Just grabbed this from Skhowl in Alterac Mountains.... agree with the comment by xesternos, it seems to proc every 2nd mobs, sometimes more frequently. Ive yet to see it proc twice on the same mob to see if it stacks or just refreshes though.

DPS is nice for an off hand at that speed.

I recently found him, he was on the ledge cirlcing to the north in the mountains. He is a brown yeti that is a rare spawn not elite (indicated by the silver dragon not gold). Easy to kill for a lvl 34 rogue when using a potion.

killed him 3 times got the blade once.....

put it on the AH for 50 gold buyout just fer fun... and it sold
few days later saw one up fer 2 gold buyout so i grabed it and put it up for 70g buyout.....
sold in 10 minutes

i think people on my server where smoking somthing feaky that week lol

I was just riding up in the alteric mountains and saw a brownish color yeti among the other white yetis and saw the silver rare spawn leaf on it.I hurried off the mount and killed it and was happy to get this.I have only seen it 3 times over the months.Last time i got a green leather headpiece called chieftains leather headpiece or something like that but this is much better.You will be lucky to see him because so many people are killin yetis.Its just by chance if u run into him.It looks so cool and procs all the time and it looks like a wolf howling when u are killin the monsters.He was close to the cave when u are riding into the mountains from the av base.Last time he was further down the leftside of the path so hes not always in the same spot but close anyway just ride back and forth but the thing is that u dont know when he appears it happens just all of a sudden.It might be every 24hrs and it was early afternoon server time when i saw him.This dagger is worth atleast 50g and worth every penny.Good luck..Happy Hunting!

It's a lvl 35 blue dagger there are others and Xp is more important than a dagger you'll outgrow in a week or the way you guys are playing a month. 2 days hell even 1 day spent trying to get this dagger at this lvl is utterly worthless.

went to the location at 10am pst, farm for about 15 mins and found him, but he dropped headress which sold for 1.5 in AH. I came back there at 11 pm and found him again, took him down and got the blade. He's on a 12 hour spawn cycle. This was very effortless, and i LOVE this dagger.

my girlfriend tried to get this dagger forever as a present for me. now my rogue is way too high to need it and I get it with my mage while doing the frostmaw quest. c'est la vie.

on a more useful note, 30AP reduction isn't too bad really. the dagger is for level 31 and at level 30 warriors upgrade their battle shout to 85AP, which means the dagger removes a good third of the buff, which is a damage reduction of about 14 points when using bloodthirst (which I know is only available at level 40, but warriors still use the same rank of battle shout then, and it's easier to calculate the damage reduction for a weapon-independent attack)(which is a tad less than an auto-attack from this dagger if held in offhand), and thirty seconds should last you through an entire fight.
if you can't get the stonevault shiv from uldaman and don't want to waste your time with PvP to get the warsong dagger this one is a good bet for anyone who likes to play it safe. if you like surviving so much that you spent points in dodge and parry, a weapon that further reduces the damage you take can't be so bad.

He spawns in the big area when u pass the cave.Go left past the cave heading north till u hit the biggest patch.He is in the middle of the patch when he is there.I dont know how often he spawns but it might be once a day.You will get this cool dagger or a cheiftans headpiece which is a green leather item.You will know its him by the color of him which is dark like a brown color instead of the normal white yetis.The cave im talking about is the one by the AV Battlegrounds Base as u pass the AV base its the first one u see in the mountains with the flame inside and like 3 yetis inside it.Go past it on left side to the big area.I got 2 of these daggers and 2 headpieces out of the 4 times i have seen him.I kept one and sold the other for 50g.

Got this blade a few days ago, no use for it so checking to see if it's worth anything. I was after dirty knucklebones from ogres and right where the first yeti start to appear, there he was. Easy kill. Saw him three times since in last couple of days so I don't think people have any idea how often he respawns but I got to him again one more time and got the blade. Other appearances he was already being attacked by others. Never saw him in the same place twice. Close but he must have an area where he spawns between the ogres and the cave.

Just in alterec mountains I am 31 lock affliction spec. Easy to solo the brown yetti with my void. Got to love rare spawns. Hopefully it will sell well on Tichondrius.

With multiple people wielding this weapon, does the effect stack on a single target? i.e.: 4 rogues offhanding this, proccing on hakkar reducing his AP by 120 + demo shout, would significantly reduce his physical dmg output. Thx.

i saw skhowl 2 times in different locations (thats always there,i see that anytime i pass there ) in Alterac mountains,1st time drop a cheap item and the 2nd time,drop this sword ,hope to sell it for more than 25g tonight.lucky not to sell it to vendor accidently !

Couple days ago I stumbled across this guy while hunting the giant yetis around the ruins i Alterac. Almost didn't fight hime because he was 3 levels higher than me at the time and had the dragon around his avatar. But I figured he's not labeled elite, so what the hell. Laid down a trap, sent the pup after him and started firing on him. We almost ate it, but got a lucky shot in and dead. Discoverred this very nice dagger on him and sold it for some gold. A day later I was up hunting and grinding and saw him near the cave for that thunderbluff quest. This time I was a 2 levels lower and drestroyed him. got the blade again. This time I kept it for some dual wielding action. Its very nice.

Tryed to get Skhowl cuz I wanna use that dagger. I got my brother to take me and me being only level 30 I couldnt get even close to where he spawns at. But he wasnt up. Was a sad night lol

I am a 54 hunter, and i was helping my brother(37 rogue), i saw this guy and killed him. I new he was a rare and that he might drop a nice item. My brother saw it and we raced to loot it. But he was the party leader, and before i could loot it, he changed the loot system to Master Looter! I could have gotten 30g! But he gave me 1g to make up! URRG!

I was in alterac looking for the Abominable Greench for the Stolen Treats of WinterVale Quest, and ran into Skhowl on pure accident. Figured, hey, he's a named elite, so why not?

He was 12 lvls lower than me, and went down very easily, and dropped this blade...

I'm a lock, and have no use for it, but its free gold sellin at AH ^^

i just stumbled upon him myself, wasn't looking for a fight but i figured what the hell - you've got to kill any named mob you come across imo. most times it doesn't result in anything worth speaking of, but this time i got a nice suprise! my Rogue will enjoy this immensely! =)

On my way through Alterac Mountains and blundered right into this rare spawn, while attempting to rescue a lvl 38 warrior who had engaged him. Killed him and he dropped the dagger, which was a nice surprise, but the warrior was too far gone to save. I think the moral to the story is that when you go looking for a rare spawn, you never see it. But when you blunder along, your luck (or my luck, anyway) improves.
